The sun actually shone today so I was able to do a wee bit of tidying up in the garden, but there’s an almost overwhelming amount to do out there.

  • Tamra Phelps

Ugh. I’m having allergic reactions to that heart monitor patch’s adhesive and to something on my right arm. Geeze, lol. What is going on with me??

  • l p

not sure if my comment went through. August ended with a bang when a van behind this place exploded and caught fire. no injuries reported so far. very thankful for first line workers. thanks

More painting then a visit from my plumber. He fixed the couple of leaks so I now have cold running water! He’s quoted me 12k – 15k to install a central heating system, hot water tank, pipes, boiler etc. and given me contact names & no.s in the local town council to get financial help.

  • heather

Up at my normal 6am I was getting dressed in the bedroom and was sitting by the bed side table, 3 drawers……………… half dressed I started to pull out and clean out junk. Now I have 2 drawers with stuff I would/need to use. And one empty drawer.

It was down to 55 last night so I had shut my windows. At almost noon it is just about 70 so i opened the windows. Not going to do much today MY LAZY DAY

  • Peggy Nunn

    Hi there!
I’m doing okay today, I’m actually excited because my husband started a new job, got a huge raise and his mood has improved drastically! Amazing what a new job can do for your mental health!

  • Peggy Nunn

My day is great. I spent the morning with my sister. I haven’t seen her in two weeks. She told me all about her trip. I got my BIL a late birthday gift he actually wanted. I saw my niece…. great day.

  • heather

My day is going pretty good just staying home today and getting some done around the house and making some hummingbird food.

  • gloria patterson

Well I am going to agree it is cooler today almost cold. It is only 72 dark rainy day. I have been busy doing end of month stuff. Read a little, nap a little now thinking about bein hungry

  • clynsg

Not too good today. Had a purchase that triggered a fraud alert on my credit card, and even though that was OK’d by the card itself, the retailer wouldn’t accept the same card even when it was released. So spent about 1 1/2 hours getting that straightened out (by using a different card and writing a note about the retailer not following its own directions for how to use the same card). In addition, my grandson’s really old German Shepherd laid down in the kitchen and died. Not a real surprise because of his age, but not exactly what I want the grandson to find when he comes home from work. Am currently waiting for another grandson to come and get the body ready to go to the crematorium, since at least grandson #1 had given some thought to that.

  • l p

the day is going well. sending good vibes to all; hope everyone is safe, feeling less pain, have what they need – and for the kids returning to school – want. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

Ya know what I would like? A return to the days when I went an entire day without thinking about my current health, lol. I’m honestly so tired of it.

  • Polly Hall

My husband took a trail and pick up load of stuff that his brother stored in our barn for the last 12 years. He just loaded it up and called and said I’m dropping it off, we have been trying to get them to remove it for years. There is still a few more loads and those will be going tomorrow.

  • Peggy Nunn

So my day has been good so far. I went to the church and played dominos with friends. We had a lunch together and laughed. Life is good.

  • gloria patterson

Had to go to FexEx to get something out for my mother. Ran around a little but never got out of the car. Stop and got one of the good car washes and I am sure my car was happy to be clean.

Home did a little paper work and computer stuff…………… now thinking about a NAP 😉

  • heather

I just made a big Italian pasta salad and am defrosting chicken for dinner. We can see the blue sky today and it is wonderful less smoke.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Painting & digging up brambles. Got my quote for house insurance renewal. Almost €300 more than last year – that’s just extortionist.

  • Michele Soyer

All my plans for yesterday fell apart – was getting ready to go to the plant shop when i felt funny – well for me funny…sat down and that was it..my daughter took one look at me and brought out the thermometer 100.. ok mum you have a fever …2 panadols a quick ice cold shower and bed….woke up 5 hours later soaking wet sheets under me… fever down to 99 which to my mind is nothing but legs unsteady – another shower while sheets were changed and back in bed reading until 8pm..feeling much improved watched some television until 11 then back in bed.. Up early this morning and feel back to normal…. very strange day yesterday…..

    • Kate Sarsfield

Oh my goodness, please take care of yourself. There’s this new variant that’s beginning to see an increase in numbers, Then again, perhaps it’s just one of those ‘things’. CJ, mind yourself!

    • gloria patterson

Glad you are feeling better. Sounds like it was your body just letting you know who is the boss!

Take care, do nothing, read a little, nap a little and just recharge

  • Tamra Phelps

It was a long day in Lexington today. Ugh. The wait for the ride home is the worst thing. Over 4 hours after I got out of the appointment I finally got home. (The trip should be less than an hour.)

  • Theresa Lichauco

Ramble. Got it. So far so OK. It could be worse and it could be better so…the answer is so-so. There that is at least eight words. SMILING.

  • gloria patterson

Trip to walmart to pick up some more stuff for mom. Still trying to get her organized……

All my amazon stuff was delivered for her so getting there. She said that she really like the stool in the kitchen and has used it a lot.

  • Marisela Zuniga

My day has been going good so far, no complaints here. Finally got some rain last night and it’s cooled the weather a little bit

  • Kate Sarsfield

What can I say? Today was spent painting, collecting water from over the road, making a couple of calls, more painting, sorting my recycling and generally pottering about. Haven’t taken my fleece off for days and they have the nerve to call this summer!

  • Peggy Nunn

It is early so my day is good so far. But it will be good the rest of the day too. I don’t like bad days… so I just decided I won’t have anymore. Life is too short. So you have a good day too.

  • Michele Soyer

Well I have to get back to work today – I have spent days reading reading and more reading….Going to give the apartment downstairs a dusting check all the boxes for sleeping cats and then gosh I guess sweep and tidy the storeroom and garage…my daughter tells me that when there really is not anything to clean I make up things to clean…I am restless and antsy and notused to sitting around but there truly is nothing to get into…maybe I will take a quick turn to the garden shop in the village and get some seeds and start some flowers….

  • kathy m

Today my husband will have been gone 6 years…Went out to where we spread his ashes this morning – just memories flooding back – putting on some of our favorite songs from the year we married ( 1970) planning on laughing and dancing – not crying – celebrating what we had and looking forward to what will be….

  • gloria patterson

My mother (94) finally agreeded this week that I could put a counter height stool in her kitchen and get rid of the kitchen rug. And I cleaned out her refrigerator then took clear drawer like bins ( discount store) and organized everthing. Now all she has to do is pull the bin out take what she wants out or set the bin on the counter and get what she wants.

And to also put her leftovers in zip lock bags. They will fit in a bin on the top shelf so she can see what left over are there and what to just throw away if she does not really want to eat them.

  • heather

My day was going pretty good til I discovered that our frig froze my celery that I needed to make my potato salad today. So I had to run to the local store and am pissed that I had to pay $4.58 for a bundle of celery!!!!!

  • KaLei

It’s a crazy day today. I was supposed to be doing some things and they all got cancelled. So I had time to do others and they were just great.

  • Tamra Phelps

I had been keeping the breast cancer mostly to myself (except for a few close relatives)–but I got a wild hair up my a$$, as my Mom used to say, and posted the whole shebang on Facebook this evenong, lol. Screw it. I’m tired of watching what I say. Keeping secrets is exhausting–I’m not sure why I kept it quiet. I just didn’t feel ready to share it. I think I wasn’t ready to deal with completely so I didn’t want questions from people likely to demand information, lol.

  • l p

the day is going well. trying to fit in a couple of appointments and some shopping before the predicted storms arrive. otherwise, it’s running among the raindrops. thanks

  • Polly Hall

I had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for my knees I received an injection of cortisone in both knees. I sure hope it works.

  • gloria patterson

For some reason I just don’t have a lot of energy these days. I usually get about 7 hr at night

But I still like my naps……..

Read a little bit got several new books by favorite authors. Worked on some crafts

  • heather

I did so much running around yesterday I am really feeling it today. I need a new pair of sandals with more cushion. I am being mellow today.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Doing this quickly as I have to shift everything out of the room I’m sleeping in to seal the concrete floor and that means internet connection etc. Just as well I’m strong!

  • Michele Soyer

Keeping myself busy with the family tree project, French test and new chapters in Greek and Italian – vertual tours for my Art History class – it is an overload of info but I need it to keep from getting down….

  • Tamra Phelps

Went to Lexington. It took about 6 hours because I spent 3 hours waiting for the return pickup and overtime getting there because the driver had to pick up someone out of the way (who cancelled at the last minute.)

  • gloria patterson

Well I will try this again………… typed wrong system threw it away

Saw knee Dr ——-n surgery mid October

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another day at the welfare centre. We’ve an outbreak of ringworm among the kittens so all the animals have to be treated, just in case and we have to sanitise before & after touching each one.

  • heather

Fast day so far did a ton of running around shopping and just got in the door. Ticked off at the price of cat food all of the sudden it has risen like $10.00 in our area.

  • Michele Soyer

Well this family tree on dads side is really keeping me busy mentally – a really great thing right now….searching old papers and remembering snipets of conversations with my dad to put together some pieces of the puzzle….names that I know connect to help others with their stories – the internet is amazing to connect with others in Europe and for me some in South America – eveyone in my case is long gone but to get to know about the younger ones is amazing – the countries involoved after the fleeing from Europe during the war – after the war and the flight from communism……the amount of relatives I have who were DP’s and were placed in camps until they found countries with quotas who would take them… my father would NEVER talk about this….

  • Annmarie Weeks

I had an ‘okay day’. Nothing great, but nothing bad either. The weather was beautiful today; in the upper 70s/lower 80s. I had a few errands to run and some chores to do here at home, so that kept me busy pretty much all day.

  • Tamra Phelps

Not much going on today. I made a few phone calls to reschedule appointments or schedule new ones. That took way longer than it should have.

  • MPaula

Sore neck today; didn’t sleep well. I am trying to try a cat not to claw at paintings on the wall. He doesn’t actually scratch them but it sounds like it!

  • gloria patterson

Have not done a lot today. The weather is high of 75 today with a lot of 55. Worked a little going through some papers. Got rid of some (not important) by tearing in small pieces and other thru my shredder(just a small one) Then read some more new book. My problem is favorite authors are coming out with new books………………….. I have already pre ordered them. Some have arrived and some are due the end of the month………… right now I have 5 in my to read pile.

Also picked up some sliver metal (3) flower with hooks on sale for $3. Going to take the hooks off and painted them bright orange. Ascolor accent in my bedroom

  • Kate Sarsfield

I cannot believe August is coming to an end! This year seems to have whizzed by. Anyway, more of the same but today I’m attempting to hang a mirror over the bathroom sink. Plenty of pillows just in case. I can’t afford 7 years bad luck!

  • Michele Soyer

There is no more packing to be done until the end – my impatience to move is overwhelming me right now and no project was lifting me out of this emotional down – tried cooking, baking, nothing left to clean ( how dirty can the house get?) languages, art history course.. then voila an email from my dad’s far removed cousin who is deeply involved in a family tree with our relatives in Hungary – this project will keep me invloved and busy for quite awhile.. so far they have gone back to before 1800…

  • Tamra Phelps

I have to head to Lexington Wednesday to get a heart monitor patch that I have to wear for a bit for the cardiac oncologist. Ugh. But it has to be done to satisfy the surgeon that my heart is okay.

  • gloria patterson

Did some shopping today at a discount store. Was picking up clear plastic bins for my mothers refrigerator. I got 8 different size bins and few other things total was $64.65 with coupons and senior discount it was down to $40.

Got to do the refrigerator some time this week. Warm today but cold in the evening down to 52 last night. Had my windows shut

  • heather

My day is going pretty good just got home from the local store. Super smokey here from wildfires makes me nervous when I can’t see if there is a new fire out there.

    • Connie: The Head Peanut

SAME HERE!! So smokey. I keep asking Alexa for any new wild fires near me. Nothing. But, dang this is a lot of smoke. THANKFULLY today we have been having a steady rain for the last 5 hours. That HOPEFULLY will help the firefighters. Stay safe.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Shifting furniture around so I can seal the floor in the room I’m sleeping in. It’s covered with plastic sheeting at the moment but I want to get the room finished off.

  • Tamra Phelps

Really hot and humid today. Ugh. Tomorrow is starting another week and I get to spend the day on the phone trying to straighten out some doctors appointments and trips to get there.

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s cooler today but just right for a visit with a friend. we haven’t seen eachother for 3+ years. at least there’s email. thanks

  • gloria patterson

Two week ago great niece wanted to spend the night told her she would have to slept on the floor. She was not a fan of that! So I told her I would get a blow up mattress for her when she wanted to stay. So got one at walmart talked about a pump, I was set!
The following week Zay I went shopping for things she would need…………….. she picked out sheets, and a blanket and then told me I needed a new one in the living room because the one there was not soft. And turns out she was right. She wanted toothpaste and a brush, and bath sponge, night gown. And of course she needed a stuff animal to hold on to………

So we get back and pull out the blow up mattress……………. it DOES NOT HAVE A PUMP (it says pump on the box) it wants you to hand pump it or you have a electric pump. We just threw it in the corner told I would put it in the box later.

Todays to do list – put that big bed back in that little box…………….. it took me over two hrs but I finally got it just right and pushed and it was in…………………

  • Kate Sarsfield

Just woken up after what I thought was a quick nap, Wrong! Slept for 5 hours and it’s 8.30pm. I blame Gloria: was watching 12 To The Moon (1960) and Phantom From Space (1953) till the wee hours.

  • Michele Soyer

Storm passed us by but flooding in Tobago and parts of south…today is sunny and bright and you would never know what yesterday was like…Taking the day off just baking and cooking then my book! Wait I think I deserve a single malt!

  • gloria patterson

The last thing my mother said to my yesterday when I was leaving………… THE NEXT TIME YOU MAKE CHILI I WANT SOME………….. I AM HUNGRY FOR IT!

So today I made chili it has cooled and I have placed in ziplocks going to take up to her in few.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Phew! Trying to get work done shifting furniture about in v. humid (for Ireland). Got through Betty without damage apart from a leaking gutter but I put a bin underneath & now have enough water to flush the toilet for a couple days! More continuous rain for the next couple of days 🙁

  • Michele Soyer

Kate I hear you – we are having more tropical waves coming tonight so hope to get things done now – the toleits – both are slightly leaking from tiny cracks so bought 2 new ones and the plumber is installing – glad he picked them up and got here just as the wind and rain started…if current goes we have the solar and the generator to keep his tools going! Thought about it but decided i want to sell this property with no issues at all – didn’t know about the cracks before or I would have done it for the developer that pulled out…
Started out this early am down but realize that divine timing will send the right buyer..

  • Tamra Phelps

I’ve been watching this all day, 10 episode series about the Long Island serial killer–from befor ethey arrested the suspect they got recently. So…I’m feeling a little creeped out.

My mothers back is really bothering her and there is not a lot they can do for that 94 yr old body. I had one thermaCare hot therapy patches. I put the patch on her and said I would go to walmart today. Picked up Back thermacare patches, they only had 3 boxes = 12 patches. Got those and little of this and a little of that. When I took everthing up to her apartment she was telling me. After I left she leaned back in her recliner and slept till 3 am, got up and in bed till after 10. Said those patches really helped. Got back to my apartment great nephew (17) arrived came to see grandma but stopped at my place first.

I am tired and about ready to call it a day

  • heather

whoops — meant to type choking on smoke in my last comment I got no sleep last night because of the wildfires can’t type today at all.

  • heather

We are cholking on super thick smoke here from all of the wildfires it is terrible and super super SCARY! I am trying to keep my mind busy so I don’t stress.

  • Kate Sarsfield

The whole country’s under orange alert – Storm Betty is on her way! Done as much as I can outdoors before the rain, now doing anything that needs electricity before the wind.

        • Connie: The Head Peanut

Thank you for asking. I swear my body is getting revenge on me for things I did as a teen. SO many things. Starting with diagnosied with Cushings Disease. (I had never even HEARD of this!!) Then adding PMR (Polymyalgia Rheumatica) diagnosis. WTH!? Last Monday I went in to have what we thought was a ganglion cyst removed. It actually turned out to be a tumor. THANKFULLY benign. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?!?! JEMinnyCrickets! I’m falling apart here. I have a craftroom I want to play in!
As far as Sarah, last I talked to her she was in a convalescent home. 🙁 I haven’t checked in on her in forever. I need to do that right now.

          • gloria patterson

WOW you have been learning about a lot of different medical problems. Its called getting old but then again. 20 yrs ago I had my first hip replacement, 17 yr other side hip replacement……………………………. NO problems

5 yr ago COPD, and now right now knee needs replaced, right wrist needs some kinda work not sure on details yet, catharacs both eyes…………..

Its either we got old or we just had to much fun and are paying for it now!

          • Kate Sarsfield

Lord, we’re a load of old crocks! Cushing’s is the thyroid, I think. Completely curable but may affect your bone strength as well, so watch out for that. Pass on good wishes to Sarah, please x

            • Connie: The Head Peanut

I tried to contact Sarah, no response yet. I’ll let you know. The Cushings is due to steroids. WHICH they are using to try and help me with my neck, hand and back pain. The doctor is weaning me off them little by little. Getting older is NOT for sissies!

  • Michele Soyer

Up at half past 5 and decided to go downstairs and see if the yard cats are about – and they were so I fed them all – walked the pooch early surveyed what I have to do today… reap squash rake out the bed and cover with green manure – positive thoughts about selling so not replanting that bed….now more coffee….

  • kcf

It’s a quiet day here, except for the occasional sirens. I’m making plans for tomorrow and the upcoming week-end. Much depends on the weather so I’ve got my fingers crossed.

  • gloria patterson

I am being lazy today I should vacummn and all that good stuff ……………. BUT didn’t and don’t plan on doing it now. To late in the day. 🙂

the day is going well. today’s the last day of lovely weather so I’m taking advantage of it. storms and more clouds and cool days ahead. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

Just the usual renovations/decorating although it didn’t rain so I managed some weeding. Storms due tomorrow night into the weekend 🙁

  • Michele Soyer

The day after a storm goes thru – bright sunny and cool for here! After breakfast heading out to pick up debris and make sure all is well…

  • Tracy Robertson

My day was interesting. I had to report to jury duty and sit there for a few hours and I was finally dismissed. While I would love to serve on a jury it would be a big strain on the finances since I’d have to miss some work, so it was a relief to not be selected.

  • susan atkins

My day is going great ! My birthday was Aug 16th and I was 70 years old. On Aug 14th I was married 52 years- How great is that !

  • Tamra Phelps

I had an irritating day, lol. I went to the grocery and called the bus for a return pickup at 3–it was after 5:30 when it finally got there, after I had called again to complain. He told me they didn’t even put me on his screen until 5, after I called again . Argh. So annoyed. I spent 5 hours doing something that should have taken maybe a little over an hour.

  • gloria patterson

Well our state decided that this was the week to start and to continue through november a main highway paving. We have college students moving in, school starts next wek etc etc.

They started almost right in front of our building. Right now we can only make a right turn to get out of our parking lot. I got lucky when I came back it only took me 20 minutes to get to our parking lot. And the best part of all was I could see our building but could not drive to it. My mother aid said it took her almost 40 minutes to get to the building.

  • Jen R

My day has been going pretty good. I am recovering from sickness so haven’t done much today. My daughter starts school tomorrow.

  • l p

the day is going quite well. a sudden wind storm came up last night and blew over a huge, mature tree. it blocked a main road so there were sirens and buzz saws for hours. not much sleep but lots to do today so had better get to it. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Made a quick run to the hardware, grocery and feed and grain. The inter-tropical- convergence zone is activated by a tropical wave so weather is upon us and I wanted to ensure the pets had plenty of food… thunder and all the drama is here right after we made it back in…Grateful very grateful….

  • Kate Sarsfield

Woken by the noise of an excavator at 8am that went on till 10pm. I’ve had a headache all day. Tried to set up my printer – AGH! I’ll try again tomorrow.

  • gloria patterson

Woke up at 5 and I just refused to get up that early. Surprise back to sleep and did not wake till 7am. Have not done much today. Temp are low this high 70’s, next week when school starts it is back in to the high 80’s.

Had a building meeting at 1:30 The fire Dept did a safety meeting things to do and not to do. And I tell you some of DUMB ASS question that some people asked was really nuts. They bitched about this and that ………………. and the fire dept kept telling them the building is SAFE it has the required features……… etc etc Again he said get to the fire excape and get out of the building. What if they cannot walk down steps and on and on…………… AND of course I opened my mouth and said
SIT DOWN ON YOUR ASS AND SLIDE DOWN THE STEPS

Spent a while venting to my therapist (the mental health kind, not the physical kind, lol)–now I’m going to read a while and maybe watch TV. I’m a little on edge today because the physical issues seem a little overwhelming, lol. One of those days.

  • heather

I am doing just so so today didn’t get a lot of sleep last night way too hot! It was 110 degrees here yesterday IN THE SHADE!

  • Michele Soyer

Well true to my word I worked outside until 1/2 6 pm.. everything is done…Therefor today with the storm here I can relax and do nothing! After I vacuum and do a bit of dusting I can cook then relax and read.. current just went so no vacuuming! I do hope they fix it quickly so I can do one load of laundry…

  • kathy m

Still enjoying the nice summer weather – nothing over 85 degree’s this year. not great for growing the garden but wonderful for enjoying the outside and sunshine! Hope everyone has an amazing day!

  • gloria patterson

It was warm and muggy this morning. Was going to be a high of 85 at 4:12 pm it is only 74.
Then the rain came and if feels so cool and the air smells so good.

I am being lazy, reading my new book. Lots of favoirte authors have new books coming out.

  • heather

My day is going not so great was told the wrong time to show up to an appointment and now the internet is driving me to drink. 111 degrees here scary hot!

  • Kate Sarsfield

I think (shhh, don’t want to tempt fate) that summer may be back! PVA’d then painted the cement-filled holes from yesterday. Then had a 5-hour nap! Gloria, what’s happening to me?

    • gloria patterson

LOL ROFLMAO Kate you are work hard and with NAPS you are recharging. A nap a day is good for you. A NAP A DAY WILL KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY………………………..lol lol lol

  • Michele Soyer

7am and I just came back in.. started at half 5am and glad I did – got so much done w/o any interruptions…Coffee breakfast then back out again –

  • Tamra Phelps

Another weekend is almost over. I need to make a few appointments with doctors on Monday, so I guess I’ll spend tomorrow on the phone.

  • gloria patterson

We got our rain storm last night started about 10. Woke up at 1:30 am hot! The electric had been off but came back on. But fans were off. Turned fans on and back to sleep woke up at 3 power had been off again but back on. Turn my fans on but could not go back to sleep. The heck with it got dressed gather my laundry. By 4;30 laundry done and put away and I was ready to sleep.

Have not done much today………. still working on my new book

  • l p

up and out early. it’s a lovely day but the humidity is quite high. lots to do and what seems like not enough time to do it in. it will all get done – just not on my schedule. thanks

  • heather

My day is going pretty good so far. I got all my outside watering done and took the garbage out now it is way too hot to go out there 107 degrees here today – Hate It!

  • Michele Soyer

Ok – so I spent the entire week being lazy unmotivated to do any sort of garden/land work.. lol.. well my list is made for tomorrow and I will work from dawn to dusk to get it all done..today I will get ready by lying around reading my book and lsitening to music.. cooking and generally enjoying myself!

    • gloria patterson

“I will work from dawn to dusk” I don’t want to say you are nuts but this really sounds nuts. You would be worn out and beat………… Try a little bit each day say early morning when it is cooler 🙂

  • Kate Sarsfield

All scheduled plans cancelled for today: the sun is shining! Imagine that! In August! So, time to get some laundry done – by hand, in a bucket!

  • gloria patterson

Right now our temp is 86 but it does not feel really hot. Got my windows open and there is just a little bit of breeze. Of course I have my fans on, I run then 24 / 7 year round. Hoping for a little rain. Not doing a whole lot of anything ……….. of course I have new books I might just have to do nothing and read them this weekend. And of course I have had a nap today LOL

  • Kate Sarsfield

I made cement today & filled in some big dinges in one of the old concrete floors. That’s another first for me but You Tube is brilliant! Then I did a Gloria and slept for 3 hours!

  • Michele Soyer

Here it is 10am and I still am sitting around drinking more coffee….I have to get moving but I think I would rather read another book!

  • Tamra Phelps

Had the appointment with the cardiac oncologist today–was surprised to hear that a 2019 EKG on my heart (when I was still in the nursing home and had MRSA) showed the lower half of my heart only doing about 55%. No one ever told me. But it could have been because of the MRSA, etc. Anyway, he wants to do some tests (stress tests, wear a patch that monitors heart for a bit)–then he expets he will okay the surgery for the breast, barring no surprises.

    • Kate Sarsfield

What? 55%? No wonder you’re tired all the time. Your poor body (and mind) have been through hell and back. AND BACK!

  • gloria patterson

Quick trip to pick up a few things that I would need for the weekend. I also got a pack of peopperoni rolls. (JUST in case you don’t know what they are – pepperoni roll consists of a fairly soft white yeast-leavened bread roll with pepperoni baked in the middle. During baking, the fats in the pepperoni (which are hard at room temperature) melt, resulting in a spicy oil suffusing into the bread.)

Then a trip to farmers market for some good tomatoes and a few other things. Seniors can get from our Senior Center COUPONS for the farmer market. This year we got 5 $10 coupons so $50 goes a lot way for veggies.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Finally getting the sitting room/study organised. Got the desk in, unpacked the pc but can’t find the leads! Why I didn’t pack them with it I don’t know. Have to have a hunt through boxes tomorrow.

  • Michele Soyer

Finally got outside and did a wee bit of weeding before I said bleh and did a few loads of laundry and found myself surrounded by cats when I started to hang them up – 3 from next door and one that came in from the road and just decided to live in my garage… the pooch just watches them all and goes back to sleep! Today I really should d more but I heard thunder – no – back in…

  • Tamra Phelps

Tomorrow I go to the cardiac oncologist–because my regular oncologist wants me to have a cardiac workup just to be sure everything there is fine for surgery, etc. OK. Fine. But for some reason I dread it. I think it’s just because the cancer diagnosis was so unexpected after what I thought would be a normal mammogram. Now I have anxiety about every new test or scan, lol.

  • gloria patterson

I know why they give kids to young people!!! I am still dragging! Got up dressed made a cup of tea, sat down in the recliner turned tv on. Drank about 1/2 the tea and I was out like a light. Slept 3 hrs 🙂 Woke up hungry made a tuna sandwich and ate it then sat back down in the recliner. another 2 hr nap. Feeling better then I get company, great niece her little cusin and her grandma. Her grandma lives in this building on the 7th floor, and I live on the 6th floor and her great grandmother lives on 8th floor. Little CC just turned 2 and she follows Zay around like a puppy. They played and watercolored and playdough. And then had to check my jewelry out. Then had to go back to grandmas because their parents would be coming soon.

Threw a pizza in the oven and I think I will play on the laptop for a bit.

  • heather

My day is going pretty good so far. I just got in the door from going to the store. I am in and just about ready to turn on the air conditioner.

  • l p

the day is going pretty quickly – too quickly. it’s cooler today so I’ve been out running errands. we have a new (new for us) mosquito type so there’s a chance of being bitten 24/7. time for a cup of tea (for me – not them). thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

Yesterday was very humid (today’s not much better) so headache all night and was still awake at 5.30 AND it was the annual black flying ants day (yuch!). They were everywhere! I’ll swop Tamra’s kamikase for these bas****s anytime!

  • Michele Soyer

Yesterday was productive regarding the house selling – sent more pics to people who will share them with others – honestly I have no motivation to weed or garden at all – read all afternoon into the evening.. today I MUST get out there….

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, we’ve reached that part of Summer when I start looking forward to when it gets cold enough to kill the bugs, lol. A kamikaze fly has been buzzing me all day.

  • gloria patterson

    My everything is dragging………………………………………………

Had great niece today, we shopped, ate at KFC, came back and we saw great grandma. Then back to my apartment………………………………. ate some more, painted a little.

    THEN we played dolls……………………………………………….

Its almost 9 pm and I am passed readly for bed

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another day at the welfare centre. They lost 2 to feline flu last night. PLEASE GET YOUR KITTENS/CATS VACCINATED.

    • Tamra Phelps

Don’t know if you can get a show called The Incredible Dr. Pol but you would love it. He is a country veterinarian in Michigan. Great show and I learn something every time i watch.

  • heather

My day is going really nice. I had a ton of running around to do and it all went nice and smoothly and now I am back home before it gets too hot. Finishing up my laundry.

  • gloria patterson

Had a Dr apointment on the other side of town. On the way to the interstate I decided to stop at Walmart. Well I found more of those clothes great niece fell in love. And yes I got this and that and that and that…………….. Yes I spoil her but she is my girl 🙂

  • Kate Sarsfield

More decorating anf a little bit of pottering in my jungle of a garden when the rain stopped. It’s really hard to get motivated in this non-stop rain and cold.

BTW, some of you (esp. Tamra!) might find the following useful: https://www.youtube.com/@AskDoctorJo
She does great, very gentle exercises that you can do sitting down or even lying in bed. I found the site very helfpful after dislocating my knee. Worth checking out!

  • heather

My day is going pretty good today I got some good sleep last night so I am much more cheery today. Hope you have a great day.

  • Michele Soyer

Made a quick trip to the grocery and then off to talk to more contacts I have up here who are kind enough to go thru the private listing again – you really never know how many people respect you and try to help you. the private realtor came Sunday and their commission is very reasonable….So back on track and today on this Lions Gate astrological manifestation day I feel postitive and nothing will get me down.. Then i started a new book and read late into the night until I finished it – could not put it down – the reality of what happened in Europe to families after the war are sometimes devastating – remembering stories my father told me..

  • Tamra Phelps

More rain. Argh!! I am so tired of rain. All it has done this Summer is rain. And still get so humid & hot it hurts to breath.

  • gloria patterson

Off to Walmart to pick up a few things. When I lwas getting ready to leave walmart I started to get in the car a women stopped me and said my tire was flat. A man near by looked at said it will get you home or wear ever. So off to my tire guy, said no problem but it will be at least a 35 to 40 minute wait, ever ones at lunch. While I was there a storm came thru heavy rain and wind blowing. People were pulling off the road after about 20 minutes the storm moved on ( for a little while) Only cost me $35. something about the valve. About 2 hrs later that storm must have turned back around it poured and blew. The temp is 70 and the wind is blowing…………. shut my windows. Ifs after 5 or I would take a nap. Just got a energy drink how hope it gives me so pep!

  • Kate Sarsfield

Slept & slept! Cleaned windows inside (raining again) and painted round edges of my new sitting room – no point paying for carpet when it’s going to be covered by furniture!

  • l p

    August 07
the day is going well. hoping to get out for some last minute groceries soon – depends on the weather. thanks

  • heather

I am tryng to have a nice day even though I stepped in dog poo this morning sure pissed me off! lol
Hope you are having a good Monday.

  • Tamra Phelps

Today I’m just reading, doing some silly stuff online (well, also pre-registering for a visit to the cancer center on Friday, too) and watching TV.

  • l p

    06 August
the day is going well. was invited to three different picnics and an outdoor festival – not enough time for all. weather cooperated wherever each was. thanks

  • gloria patterson

Up early did a little of this and that. Ever time I open a drawer or cabinet I start get rid of stuff. This has been going on for over two months…………………… AND I HAVE NOT MISSED ANYTHING THAT I HAVE GOTTEN RID OF.

Had a short nap and finished my new book

  • Kate Sarsfield

I have been terribly lazy today! Weather’s too cold to do anything outside and I’m just not in the mood to lug furniture about. It’ll keep till tomorrow!

  • heather

I am having a nice mellow Sunday just staying home today and relaxing, watching movies and eating. LOL
Hope you have a nice one too.

  • Michele Soyer

Had a few bad days but I am back again…Nothing can defeat me I will keep on going…Posted all the house and land pics to an international site and have a few contacts here helping me sell the property… Then my container shipper called – the timing doesn’t matter since the deal fell through so I was not in panic mode but here is the latest on that front – from here they no longer ship diectly to Greece – they are going to send me the indirect routes I can choose from – whoopee!! we can either go thru. drumroll.. the states, the UK, Germany,Netherlands to Athens and then container truck from Athens on the Ferry to Corfu….Ok so since this is not happening tomorrow I have time to analyze my choices…
Well I plan on reading and re-doing plans today and I do have a prospective private realtor coming this afternoon – have to see what their commission would be….

  • gloria patterson

Got up late today it was almot 7 AM Did a little of this and not much of anything. Decided i needed a nap and slept for almost 3 hours. Got a new book think I am just going to start on it…………. and be lazy the rest of the day

  • heather

My day is going pretty good so far. I was up super super early this morning and out the door to do some major grocery shopping it was nice and quiet out there.

  • Kate Sarsfield

The electrician chap was only here for about an hour & was extremely tidy and courteous. I now have a Smart meter so at least I don’t have to have ‘estimated’ bills. My last bill was €300 over so I’m in credit!
Connie we had a high today of 59 degrees! And it stopped raining!

  • heather

My day is going so so. I got stung by a jellowjacket this morning while putting the gabage in the container outside. We are going to get some spray and nuke em soon.

  • gloria patterson

Proud great aunt of ………………………. Lil Miss of Monongalia County Fair

She did so good and had fun and also as one of her prizes a Big Girl Bike she was thrilled with that.

Not much to day few errands, 15 min nap. The maintance man showed up with a light bulb for my refrigerator put it in didn’t work. Had to go back down stairs but I now have LIGHT in my refrig

  • Kate Sarsfield

Where’s Michele? Hope all’s well, although she’s still posting on FB.
Doing this early as I have electricians coming to upgrade my meter to a smart one so no power for a couple of hours later today. My meter box was installed in the early ’70s when the house was built.

  • klp

We’re having a great day. There’s a long week-end coming up and the kids are looking foward to having picnics and visits with family.

  • Tamra Phelps

Had a doctor’s appointment today, it was nice outside. The hospital, though, is always as cold as a meat locker, lol.

  • gloria patterson

Has not been a hot day but not cool………………. I tell you I have the bug and don’t know how to get rid of it! Ever time I sit down near a drawer i am pulling it out and getting rid of stuff!!!

And for some reason NO nap today

    • Connie: The Head Peanut

Costco is DANGEROUS for us. The Husband has to walk each. and. every. SINGLE. Aisle. I hate going. Together we are terrible. Lots of ohhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhh I need. I want. I must have. And then you faint at the total. Thankfully our Costco is almost 2 hours away.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Slept from midnight, got up at 6.30am, back to bed at 8am, slept till 12.30pm, did some decorating, slept till 4.30pm, woken by robin flying round house, got it out, slept till 6pm, woken by another robin in the house, got it out, decorated, ate, back to bed!

  • heather

My day was going just dandy until I bent over to pick up something from inside my closet and pulled my back out. Getting old truly sucks.

  • gloria patterson

FYI — planting mint near flowering plants Do NOT ever plant it right into to your garden/flowers. Plant it in containers! MINT RUNS really really fast and it is everwhere.

Not a bad day ran a few errands. Got up to get something out of refrig and my light is burned out…………… Do you know how dark it is the frig??? Maintenance will be up tomorrow to replace the bulb.

It was only 82 today really nice………….. BUT it is going back up starting tomorrow

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another lovely day with the animals. There’s an outbreak of feline flu in one of the enclosures where the feral kittens are held. One little kitty died yesterday, but the others seem to be improving with antibiotics. Any volunteer with a cat at home can’t work with them, just in case, so it’s doubled the work for the rest of us. Poor little things. As I was leaving I caught my ring on a door handle but luckily managed to get the ring off before the swelling started. My finger’s black & blue!

  • Tamra Phelps

Hey Connie, did you see that on Amazon there is a promotion by P & G offering $15 off if you spend $50 on their products, lol. What a deal, lol. I mean a whole page of stuff people really need like T.P., detergent, etc. ON SALE! Oh, the temptation. It’s like it would be irresponsible NOT to do it, right???

  • l p

the day is going well. started early and it was nice just to sit and watch the sunrise. last night’s full moon was wonderful. thanks

  • Connie the Head Peanut

I put something in my cart today. BUT! I didn’t order. Whew! That was close! It’s gonna be a really long month.
Day one lost hearing in my left eye!

  • Kim Pincombe-Cole

Add to Cart Therapy runs rampant in my house too. Yes, I’m the problem, it’s me.
I’m trying to get over a summer cold/summer allergy flare – so haven’t been feeling my best the past few days.

    • Connie the Head Peanut

Last month he had the first eye done. I sent the picture to our kids of Dad with the plastic piece the doctor sent him home in. My son said “what did they do? Tape his eye in? I said yeah the hot glue gun was broken” ROFLMAO!! I got jokes too!

  • heather

My day is going pretty good nice and quiet. I got my yard work all done and everything watered outside before it hits 100 degrees today.

    • Connie the Head Peanut

I got outside to water only to find one of my cute little furry visitors ATE ALL OF MY flowers. All of them. So much for planting mint near flowering plants. Mint is not a deer deterrent.

  • Kate Sarsfield

It actually stopped raining today – not for long though & thunder/lightning tonight 🙁 Stayed in and cleared the ‘new’ sitting room & scrubbed the old floor. I’ll put down PVA glue on Thurs & Friday.

  • gloria patterson

I always enjoy reading your llist of words……………… I saw hubby getting cataract surgey this week. Mine for left eye is scheduled late september. Really looking forward to it!!

I am still on a clean out and get rid of kick!!!!!! Today I pulled all my spices………… some were so old they were hard in the bottle. I got rid of at least 90% of them some I never used or just once in a blue moon. Made a list of the one’s I use and will replace those.

Great niece was riding in a Corvette last night. She is entered in the Fair for Lil Miss She looked so pretty and having fun riding in the vette

    • Connie the Head Peanut

Little Miss looked so cute in her white dress. So CUTE!!
You are gonna love the way you see after your cataract surgery. The Husband constantly pointing to things “I can read that!! I can see that!”
I’m gonna have to watch my eye rolling!
