I Scored BIG at ScoreBig!! So Much FUN!!

Last week I told you about how easy it is to use ScoreBig to find tickets for, well, everything! Football, basketball, baseball, hockey, ScoreBig HAS ’em. Musical events? Theater? GOT ’em!! Sight seeing?? JACKPOT!!!

I picked up tickets to Old Town Trolley Tour!! This was a fully narrated tour of San Diego. It was entertaining! Informative! FUN!!! We traveled from The Harbor to Coronado, from San Diego Zoo to Little Italy!! There are 11 stops in total on this tour that you can disembark and walk around, shop, eat and just explore! Catch the next trolley, stay on, get off…….. whatever YOU want to do.   You don’t have to get off at all if you don’t want to!  You can stay on the Trolley for the whole 2 hours if you want. We made a day of it.

I learned things about San Diego I never knew!! Our guide Jack was amazing!! He’s had the job for 2 weeks. He knew more about San Diego than I do after 31 YEARS!!!

Here are some interesting facts that I learned!! The world’s oldest, still working ship, the Star of India built in 1863 has her home port in San Diego. Each year over 200 cruise ships berth in San Diego harbor. Charles Lindbergh took off from San Diego in 1927, on the Spirit of St. Louis, headed for New York, and then non-stop to Paris and into history. USA’s largest wooden structure; the Hotel Del Coronado is in San Diego on Coronado island

We saw the little bar that Goose sang to Meg Ryan in the movie Top Gun!! I thought that was cool.  The conductor Jack even got the entire trolley singing. It was AWESOME!!!  San Diego is the eighth largest city in the country. The Hotel Del Coronado has seen visits from 10 presidents and hosted the first state dinner outside the White House in 1970.

My favorite??  The Whaley House was built in 1857.  It is the oldest brick structure in Southern California, and is reportedly haunted!!  The tour guide recommended you check your photo’s for possible ‘photo bombs’ I believe I have several!!  Taken from 2 cameras one will show a photo bomb but not the other.  I am a believer!! It’s so cool!!!

Look at me! I’m a wealth of knowledge now! Oh here is another one, San Diego’s Airport is the busiest one-runway airport in the U.S. and the 2nd busiest in the world, behind London Gatwick. WELLLLLLL no wonder I’m on the runway so long!!  San Diego airport can’t take off or land before 7am and not after 11pm.  WOW!  Who knew!

I told you there were going to be a ton of photo’s from this adventure!!

From beginning to end ScoreBig was easy to use!! Buying tickets was quick. The selection was awesome!!  The tickets arrived quickly. It couldn’t have been easier exchanging the receipts for ride vouchers.  Most importantly, we had a BLAST!!!  I am blown away at how good Alice was!!  Not a PEEP!!  That’s how interesting this tour was! Jack kept a 2 year old mesmerized!!  WHAT?!!?!?  I promise!!  Okay, except that short nap over the Coronado Bridge.

ScoreBig really made our day!!  The next time I go ANYWHERE I will start with looking at ScoreBig first for deals and tickets. Next trip for us?? The Seal TOUR in San Diego!!

Refreshing My Old Blog Posts: The Good, The Bad, and The 404s

Updating an old blog post is a lot like an archaeological dig. You head in expecting a quick “dusting” of the archives and end up unearthing a series of questionable life choices from 2014. From over-filtered photos to advice that didn’t age quite as well as a fine cheddar, the past can be… loud.

I recently opened a “quick update” on an old favorite, only to find a digital wasteland:

  • Missing Images: Key tutorial steps that now require “extreme imagination” because the hosting site vanished.
  • The Dead Link Graveyard: Half my former brand partners have apparently rebranded as “AI Crypto Collectives” or simply ceased to exist.
  • Antique Fonts: We’re talking styles that haven’t been cool since the dial-up era and look like they belong on a Geocities fan page.

Why I’m Optimizing This Blog

It’s not just about vanity; it’s about SEO survival. While I might be cringing at my old writing style, fixing broken links and updating keywords is like whispering “Pick me!” directly into Google’s ear.

When I refresh this content, the site runs faster, the “404 Not Found” errors disappear, and the search engine gods are finally appeased. I’m not spiraling into a mid-blog crisis; I’m just clearing out the blog ghosts to make room for new traffic.

How I Am Giving My Content a Facelift

I’m sitting on a mountain of old posts, here is the “Peanut Butter and Whine” guide to a quick refresh:

  1. Killing the 404s: I’m using a plugin to find dead links and point them somewhere useful.
  2. Update the “Now”: If I mentioned a product from five years ago, I’m trying to swap it for the 2026 version.
  3. Spruce up the Metadata: Making sure my Focus Keyword (like “blog”) is in the headers and the first paragraph.

While You’re Here…

Don’t let your visit be a “one and done!” Since I’m already tidying up the place, why not stay a while?

  • Win Big: Check out the sidebar for my current giveaway—I promise this one is actually alive and kicking!
  • Earn Cash: Some things never go out of style. Rakuten still pays you to shop, and in this economy, why wouldn’t you take the free money?

I had never heard of this site before now. I visited the site and will endeavor to remember to compare prices with others when purchasing event tickets.
