A to Z April Challenge Letter A
Call me insane but, I signed up for a challenge called A to Z. I wrestled with this one for the longest time….. I almost chickened out even! Between panic attacks I had to find a topic or a theme…. that’s so much easier said than done!! I’m not a writer or a poet like a lot of my fellow challenge group. Most of them write books! Let’s talk intimated!! Cut to the chase…. I’m in!! It’s only 30 days! I can do it!! So… here ya have it…… I am going to blog the A to Z challenge everyday except Sunday (per the rules) with my theme being what makes me happy, what inspires me and what makes me ME!!! So be prepared for more information about me than you ever wanted to know!!
A is for Alice. My 3rd Grandchild. I am lucky enough to be her full time caregiver. I don’t think I had this much fun with my own kids!! I care for her at her house it’s easier… Okay okay… fine… I love that the mess stays there! Besides, her house and her toys and I’m not stopping to clean or do other things. I am spending time with Alice!!
I love teaching Alice things, she’s like a little sponge! An adorable, sweet, silly, learning machine! At 21 months she knows her alphabet, (by site, verbal and we are learning the sounds each one makes) Alice can count 12356789 (Alice appears to have a phobia against the number 4). I’m enjoying every tea party, every snuggle, every outing and every day!!
Alice, is a face my regular followers are familiar with, she is my review buddy. I’ve never seen a kid that loves the camera as much as she does!! (THANK HEAVENS!!!)
Okay, okay…. sometimes she DOESN’T want her picture taken and I get THIS look!
What things do you teach your toddler? I’m always on the look out for new and fun things for us to do!!

Adorable!!!! 🙂
Kelly
She is absolutely adorable! I miss little ones. My littlest little is 6 years old now (soon to be turning 7 this month!), and I do so miss those toddler years.
I emphatically DO NOT miss diapers, though!
And your daughter’s artwork is simply stunning! I just may steal that notion and have my kids create some stuff for me!
Ooh…and “tetraphobia” — fear of the #4! 😀
Connie Gruning
Kelly, I immediately had to google Tetraphobia!!!! WHAAAAAAAAA??!??! Okay, I’m teaching Alice Tetraphobia since learning the number 4 is out of the question!!
Melanie Schulz
Alice is just about the cutest kid I’ve ever seen (with the exception of my own, but I’m a little biased).
Connie Gruning
Thank you Melanie. I’m very biased. She is perfect! LOL!

Hi Connie, I’m bloghopping the A to Z challenge (not taking part this year as I have only just heard about it, but it sounds both fun and challenging) Like you I adore littlies best – once they start school they start with the “Why don’t you do X like Jodie’s mummy?” or “Miss Webster says we shouldn’t do that” and it is down-hill until they exit their teen years 😉

NO kidding! First the kids act like they’ve been invaded by aliens. Then their friends…… ackkkkkk!! Not ready!! I’m REALLY not ready!

A is for Awwwww!!!Alice is ADoll! How lucky she is to have her grandmother everyday….it makes for a lifetime of wonderful memories for you both. I too care for a GrandGuy a couple of days a week while DIL works on degree. He’s a Genius Three Year Old with computer skills and a vocabulary that amaze.
Thanks for stopping by my AtoZ Letter A post…A Frame. Look forward to your B Post, too.

Hi Connie! This is my first time with the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I, too, feel so intimidated but I decided ‘hey what the heck’ I am writing about places I have visited. Not like a travel blog but just my impressions. I am raising two grandkids ages 13 and 15. It only gets better after the toddler stages LOL! Call me crazy
Connie Gruning
Paula, I will be by to see your posts too! ACKKK 13 and 15!! I don’t think I could do well……. ahhhh my own kids drove me insane at that age.
Diane K.Brimmer
Alice is a beauty! I love those eyes! Isn’t being a grandma just about the best thing since sliced bread! Good luck with the Challenge! Better you than me. I will stick with the with the grandbabies.
Connie Gruning
LOL Diane, I think I have gone INSANE!! There are almost 2000 bloggers and the goal is to comment on each blog at least once. OH MY GOOODNESSSS that’s a lotta blogs!! I’m gonna do nuts (or just nuttier!)
Miriam
Alice’s parents are very lucky to have you.
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I’m doing the A-Z for the third time.

Way to dive in to the Challenge in spite of feeling intimidated!
I love that Alice skips 4. I’ve always felt there’s something suspicious about that number. Still, it IS a useful number, so here’s hoping Alice makes friends with it soon.
Andrew Leon
Star Wars. Definitely, you should teach toddlers about Star Wars.
Connie Gruning
Oh Andrew check back this week and just wait till you see what I have coming up about Star Wars!! It’s makin’ me giddy just thinkin’ about it!!!
Nagzilla
Great topic for your A post. She’s cute! I am so glad my own kid is waaaaay past the toddler stage. I’ll take a teenager over a toddler any day of the week. Good luck on the rest of the challenge

Alice is so cute! I have a lot of nephews around the same age as my son, so it’s fun when they get together and play together.
Connie Gruning
I’m so lucky, all three of my grandkids live close. They are 1, 3 and 4. I love that all three are close too. It’s so fun!
Taylor Gilmore

My A would be my daughter Alison. She makes me smile everyday.
Connie Gruning
Alison is a beautiful name! Kids really do make everyday special don’t they?
Brett Minor
I don’t usually care for toddlers, but I loved my kids and will probably go nuts over my grandchildren when I have any. Not that I’m in a hurry.
Dropping by from A to Z Challenge. This is my first year participating.

Brett, Grandkids are THE BEST!!!!! If my own kids didn’t read this I would probably add that Grandkids are better than kids!!

Awww! Alice is cute name! I think this A to Z is a great idea! I don’t have tips for toddlers since I don’t have one…yet 🙂 My A would be Andrea, my much younger sister, whom I am just finally becoming friends with as we are now well into adulthood <3
Connie Gruning
I seriously like my sister way more now that we’re old(er)!
