In fiscal year 2023, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, deported more than 142,000 immigrants, almost double the number from the previous year, as the Biden administration intensified enforcement to stem illegal border crossings. Approximately 18,000 of those deported were parents and children traveling as family units.
