Diagnosing Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Maryland!
Diagnosing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is done by a medical doctor based on the symptoms you experience. The more common IBS symptoms are cramping, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. The normal causes of IBS are eating a bad diet, taking prolonged antibiotics, food poisoning or an operation in the pelvic area. The doctor will perform an examination of the stomach area checking for tenderness in the large intestine area.
Next, the doctor will refer you to a Maryland gastroenterologist for further examination. The gastroenterologist performs a rectal examination in which a tube with a light is inserted inside the rectum. This allows the doctor to see the bowel wall lining as well as the colon. The doctor may take a bowel wall sample for a biopsy to confirm the bowel is normal. This will also allow the doctor to test for any intolerance to gluten.
The doctor may also include a barium enema or barium meal. This allows a radioactive substance to show up in an X-ray. The doctor will probably order blood tests and check for parasites as well.
The point of all these tests is to confirm that nothing else is wrong with the bowel. It is very uncommon to get cancer or a tumor from IBS. IBS is a sign that the bowel is going into spasms. Seeing your doctor can help you diagnose IBS so that treatments can begin.

Ive been suffering from severe constipation issues. I don’t know the reasons behind this issue. Also the bowel movement isn’t very comfortable. I feel awkward to talk on these platforms but needed help to solve the issue. Any home remedies to treat my constipation issue. It will be grateful if anyone replies to my issue.
Thanks in advance

IBS occurs when colon is not working properly. Colon health depends on the dietary habits and exercises. Due to lack of fiber intake and water intake also lead to colon problems. Most people are suffering from IBS and other colon problems due to not consuming enough fiber, lack of physical activities and more likely to consume fast and processed foods. By following proper diet, exercises, increase fiber intake and drinking more water we can control IBS.

It is also a symptom of Fibromyalgia.
Have had both since early 20’s, I am 53 now.
Granted they did not have the medical terms then, but I had the same symptoms all these years.
