Happify! The Science Behind Happiness!! Review
So, what is Happify? Well, exactly what the name implies…… a site to help you be a better YOU! A HAPPIER YOU!! And doing so scientifically!! Yup, there is a SCIENCE behind happiness. Each week you have quick easy 4 to 7 exercises to help you get HAPPY!! We all tend to have times in our lives where we get bogged down in day-to-day details. We get sad, we get overwhelmed. We forget to be happy!! Who can blame us? The way the world is today, we all need some encouragement and reminders to be HAPPY!! The Happify activities are easy to do. For instance, one of the activities this week was the following:
EVEN Angelina is jealous of : That’s right. She might be sexy, talented, rich, thin, adored by Brad Pitt and a gaggle of kids and yet she’s still—still?—jealous of someone or other. It’s human nature to compare ourselves with others. But we usually compare up the food chain. So try comparing yourself to all those people who don’t have it as good as you, and come up with three things to be grateful for.Leave me a comment and tell me three things you are grateful for. Diane you can’t stretch it and list each of the little ladies, that would be cheating!!
Each of the exercises gives you a “Why it Works” section. Happify tells you about the science behind the activity.
Seriously, would you have thought that happiness was a science!?!?
Happify is very interactive, you can add photos to your tasks, your photo’s or the stock photos from Happify. Other members can comment on your activities. Happify helped me get out of my little pity party and appreciate the little things again.
Yes, other members can comment on your tasks, you in turn can read their stories. I’ve read some beautiful journeys to happiness.
One of my favorite areas is the Daily Happifer. Today’s is:
Did You Know?
Many of us spend way too much time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future and end up missing out on what life is really about: living. Studies show that people who regularly savor the present are happier, more optimistic, less depressed and more satisfied with life in general.
OHMYGOSH am I ever a guilty of this one!! I have GOT TO LEARN to let it GO!!!!
Did You Know? The most popular course at Harvard University is “Positive Psychology: The Science of Happiness”
Research shows happiness is mental skill that is actually within our own control, and like any skill can be developed and maintained. By strengthening the neural pathways responsible for feelings of happiness, you can enjoy life more and maximize the opportunities around you.I’m enjoying my Happify journey. I think you would too….. SOOOOOO…. I want to spread the Happy!! The first 5 people that comment “I want to HAPPIFY!” will receive a link from me so you can join too!! We can support each other on our journey to happiness.
Thank you for reading!

Should it be necessary for mental health pro’s to demonstrate that they are in control of their own lives EG weight, alcohol, sex, & anger?

Hi there!
I just saw an ad today for this site on Facebook and I was very curious as to what it was all about. I immediately signed up to join but received a message that I would be added to a waiting list as the site is by invitation only! Visions of Pintrest came over me and I remember they were by invitation only at first too and for months nobody I knew was a member in order to send me an invite…finally Pintrest sent me one and by then I had lost “interest in Pintrest” lol.
I am very interested in trying the activities you have described. I am mostly a negative person and see the glass as half empty and I am certain my negative attitude and way of thinking contributes greatly to my happiness level and overall quality of life. I do not know how to change this and have tried but I am fairly certain I would not even know how to be happy since I have never felt true happiness for more then just moments at a time. I would truly appreciate an invitation if you still have any left and I am glad I came across your article as it did help me to better understand what the goals are for the website. Thank you very much.
