How to Develop a More Engaged Team

When it comes to productivity, there are many factors that come into play. However, one of the most fundamental is your staff’s performance. If you are struggling with morale issues, you are likely to be seeing a reduction in potential productivity. You will be seeing more sick days, longer breaks, etc., too. It is not a good place to be. You need to focus on building up your staff’s motivation and developing a more engaged team. The good news is that there are a lot of ways you can do this. So, let’s discover a few ways you can engage your team more:

Make The Space a Nice Place to Be

Engaged Team Coffee house Take a look around, be objective, and honest. Is your workspace a nice place to be? If not, then you really should put some resources into making a better place to work. Things to pay attention to include the amount of natural light coming in. Natural light is a huge mood booster and can even make your staff healthier. So, consider installing bigger windows or moving any objects out of the way. Think about the temperature in the space. Too hot or too cold can affect productivity. Does the decor look attractive? Does it need a lick of paint or some artwork? When it comes to painting a wall, consider colors that promote productivity. Also, consider how comfortable your seating and desks are. Do you use ergonomic seating and have adjustable desks? How about some background music like SiriusXM for business. Indoor plants are a touch. Not only do they look attractive, but they create cleaner air, as well as keep a room more temperate. Consider free teas and coffee too. There are a lot of ways you can make the workspace more conducive to productivity. Why not investigate what would work best for your circumstances?

Communication

If you want to have a more engaged team, then you need to communicate with them. Communication is at the heart of all good relationships, and that goes for the employee-employer relationship. First of all, you should try and create a great company culture that champions open and honest communication. You then need to lead by example. If you are closed off with your staff, then how can you expect them to open up? Perhaps you could have regular meetings where all the team is invited. You could lead the talk by giving them some insight into the direction the company is heading in, some detail about your brand and your vision, and how you expect to get there. Ask your team questions and ask for honest feedback. You are very likely to receive some helpful pointers that can help you direct your ship. You are aiming to make sure your staff feels valued. The more valued they feel, the more likely they are to stay employed by you and produce more. If you can also create a vision that everyone can believe in, then this will make your plight a lot more powerful and attractive.

Some good information and thoughts here.

Communication — This is a easy word to use BUT some time it is a hard thing to do.

Space nice — You hear/read about companies that have place that the employees can work in comfortable place.

You think about people that work at home in the evening….. WHERE are they doing this. Some may work at a desk or kitchen table but a lot of them are sitting on a couch releaxed and getting much done.

This would be good for a lot of companies to think about and take some action

I agree work should be a nice place to be. If employees are miserable and don’t like each other, things are going to go dpwnhill quickly.
