How to Stop Snoring so You Don’t Scare Off Your Date!
So you’re out on a date and it’s going well. You’re talking about continuing back at your place, but you know you snore. You need some quick fixes so you don’t scare off your date. Don’t lose hope because there are some things you can do! Keep reading to see some of these tips!
Open Your Nasal Passages
The first quick fix to help stop snoring is to open up your nasal passages. Having obstructed passages can actually be one of the biggest reasons why you’re snoring in the first place. You don’t have to be sick to have this because some people are just born this way. There are a few things you can do to make this happen. Some of these are: eat spicy foods, put mint based essential oils in a diffuser or mister or put a little bit of vicks underneath your nose.
Try Anti-Snoring Devices
You could also give snoring devices a try. Even though these aren’t necessarily attractive, they might be your best chance at stopping your snoring. The two most common types are mouthpieces and pillows. The pillows are usually pretty basic, but some let you control how high you want to elevate your head. With the mouthpieces, you can have a little bit more customization. There are also some mouthpieces that are very basic and are a one size fits all product. The more advanced ones can actually conform to your teeth and mouth once you bite down. This helps ensure that it’s a tight fit and there aren’t any gaps.
Stay Hydrated
When you aren’t hydrated, your nasal passages make more mucous. This results in the air flow being restricted, which in turn causes vibrations. In addition, this mucous is more sticky, which means that your nostrils will be more prone to sticking together. You want to make sure you’re drinking the recommended glasses of water each day to ensure that you’re staying hydrated. If being dehydrated is the issue, then you’ll be able to see some results pretty quickly. If it isn’t, then you won’t see much change in your snoring.
Avoid Alcohol
It might be hard after you get done with a date, but you should try to avoid alcohol. The reason this can help you stop snoring is because alcohol makes you relax. When this happens, your throat muscles get too relaxed and they cause a slight obstruction. This obstruction results in less air being passed through. When you don’t get enough air, you start snoring. If you feel like you really have to drink, try to stop drinking about 3 to 4 hours before you plan on going to bed. This will help ensure that you aren’t too relaxed and you should see a decrease in your snoring.
Prop Up Your Head
When you lay flat on your back, you have a higher chance of your tongue moving backwards. This can cause an obstruction, which will decrease the amount of airflow you get. In addition, the weight of your body will be pushing down on your lungs, which will also cause obstructions. There are a few ways that you can prop up your head. For starters, you can use a few pillows. If you don’t want to do that, you can put something underneath the mattress, such as books, to help keep your head higher.
Tennis Ball Trick
The final thing you can do is the tennis ball trick. Basically all you do is sew a tennis ball to the back of your shirt. When you’re sleeping and you go to roll on your back, your body will feel that uncomfortable feeling and your mind will subconsciously roll you back to your side.
Now that you know some anti-snoring tips, you can be confident that you date won’t go running scared! You can focus more on having a good time and less on sawing logs! Have any more tips? Drop a comment below!

Lol, I have no idea if I snore. I have allergies, so I definitely get congested…so, I bet I do.
