It’s SPRING!! The Ultimate Guide To Healthy Planting!

Spring is finally here, and I REFUSE to think that it will actually snow again in Sandpoint Idaho. NO! Denied. NOT having it!! It’s time for me to give my plants a well-deserved boost with the help of humic acid. Look at me with my fancy gardening soil-boosting ingredients!!  Humic acid, boron humate, and nitro humic acid, are all ingredients that can improve soil structure, increase nutrient uptake, and enhance plant growth.

What Is Humic Acid?

Humic acid is a key component of humic substances, which are organic compounds found in soil, compost, and other natural sources. It is rich in organic matter and essential nutrients that can benefit plants in various ways.

What Is Nitro Humic Acid?

Nitro humic acid is obtained using nitric acid and humic acid powder at a mass ratio of 3: 1. The solution is acidic, so it can be dissolved in an alkaline solution. It is a highly effective soil improver, plant growth promoter, fertilizer synergist and drilling fluid stabilizer.

Boron Humate Main Functions

  1. Effective boron in boron humate promotes flower bud differentiation: use before flowering to promote flower bud differentiation, increase pollination rate, and effectively prevent the production of deformed fruit;
  2. Boron oxide (B2O3) can promote fruit setting: it can stimulate the germination of pollen and the elongation of pollen tube, so that pollination can proceed smoothly. Improve the seed setting rate and fruit setting rate.
  3. Improve quality: promote the synthesis and transformation of sugar and organic substances, improve the balanced supply of nutrients in various organs of crops, and improve the yield and quality of agricultural products.
  4. Regulation function: regulate the formation and operation of organic acids in plants. In the absence of boron, the organic acid (arylboronic acid) accumulates in the roots, and the cell differentiation and elongation of the apical meristem are inhibited, and the cork is formed, causing root necrosis.
  5. Can also enhance the drought resistance, disease resistance of crops and promote crop precocity.

Why Should You Use These Products in Spring?
As plants start to come out of their winter dormancy, they need extra nutrients to kickstart their growth. Humic acid can help provide the necessary boost by improving soil structure, making it easier for roots to absorb nutrients. Additionally, humic acid can enhance soil microbial activity, which is essential for healthy plant growth.

Benefits:

  • Improves soil structure
  • Increases nutrient uptake
  • Enhances plant growth
  • Boosts soil microbial activity
  • Helps plants withstand environmental stressors

Tips for Maximizing the Acid Benefits:

  1. Apply acid in early spring to help plants get a head start on their growth.
  2. Make sure to water your plants after applying to help the nutrients penetrate the soil.
  3. Use acids in conjunction with other organic fertilizers for optimal results.
  4. Monitor your plants’ growth and adjust the frequency of acid applications as needed.

I didn’t know any of this. I would love to say I have a green thumb, but that would be a lie. Gardening is something I would love to try, though.
