NOVICA Batik 100% Silk Shawl, ‘Wine Garden’ #WineGardenSilk
I have a beautiful Novica Silk Batik Shawl called Wine Garden that should be at the top of your Valentines Day Wish list.
This shawl is so beautiful. It is soft and sheer! 100% silk. Starting with a dark maroon background there are blue and red flowers and green leaves. More designs spread throughout the shawl. All together the look is amazing! Soft and feminine, delicate and eye-catching!
The NOVICA Silk batik shawl, ‘Wine Garden’ – Artisan Crafted Batik Silk Shawl Wrap is a large shawl at 87″ long and 19.5″ wide. It’s so light weight at 0.3 ounces! Even though this scarf is so light weight it’s warm! I’m very impressed at how warm! I wore this shawl when The Husband and I went out to dinner. I had to take the shawl off because I was too warm! In January?! I had no idea silk could be so warm!
Packaging is also very special. The shawl arrives in a beautiful brocade bag, along with an official Novica story card that certifies quality and authenticity.
This shawl is truly a superb example of batik art as well as a study in casual elegance. Wear it as a wrap or scarf.
NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, works together with talented artisan designers around the world to produce stunning, keepsake treasures. Our mantra is to spread global happiness, so rest assured – we’ll do everything we possibly can to ensure you’re a happy customer.
This 100% silk shawl can be hand washed in cold water with gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry. Do NOT dry clean.
About our Artist: My new shawl was created by Yuni Kristina from Indonesia. Yuni describes this shawl as an exuberant garden on wine red silk. Yuni says: I learned the art of batik when I was very young, since my mother is a batik artist in Java. She has been making batik at home for 23 years, while waiting each day for my father – a fisherman – to come home from the sea. As you can imagine, batik is a part of my life. I started experimenting with the technique when I was 13 years old, with mori textiles. Now I’ve learned to create different motifs and to work with other materials, such as silk. My mother still helps me a lot. My mother is my inspiration. She and I still design together, especially the floral and bird motifs that are typical in Pekalongan batik. My husband Rieckey also helps me a lot because he knows what people like abroad, and then I can focus on creating. I would like the batik of Bali to become well-known around the world, since its beauty is outstanding….
I know I gush about Novica a lot; I can’t help it; if it were up to me I would review every single item on their site. Not only are the products beautiful and well made but Novica makes it their mission to GIVE BACK! I love that!! To date Novica has sent over $60 MILLION dollars back to artisans around the world. Novica gives artisans around the world fair prices, no binding contracts, and the freedom to make a success of their craft by building a sustainable business. What that means to me? It means I can feel good about purchasing products from Novica. HUGE bonus is the quality and workmanship is amazing. I have NEVER been disappointed in a single item I’ve purchased.
WHINES
None! Not a single one! My shawl is wonderfully made with beautiful colors! This is a stunning shawl.

That is a cute scarf, though I’ve never been one to wear reds, I’m more a blue person. But it’s cute nonetheless.

The colours are gorgeous & the size is great too. And yes, natural fibres like silk are warm in the cold & cool when it’s hot! Whenever I have a sore throat or swollen glands I always reach for a silk scarf!
