The “Mom” Moved IN!!
I don’t know about you guys, but for me time is going so FAST!!! I was going through old paperwork the other day and realized it’s been three years this Christmas since my Mom came to live with us. Now, by live with us, I mean in her very own apartment. We did things right! For the sake of all our sanity, we built an addition onto our home. This addition might be attached to our house, but from inside of her apartment, or inside the main part of the house, you would never know it. From the outside Mom’s apartment looks like a little California Bunglo. From the inside too for that matter!! The apartment is completely separate from the main house. (Yes, we have a door down the hall that connects the two houses, but it’s locked from our side!! Am I smart or WHAT?!) The apartment is super cute! Starting with a fully enclosed screened porch that runs the entire length of the apartment. Mom has her own entrance. We’ve really made sure everyone has their privacy and their own ‘space’. Batter Babies!
So, what are Batter Babies? Only the coolest baking gadget yet!! Batter Babies are cake batter separators that are made just for cupcakes. Two year old Alice and I set out to make cupcakes for Halloween. Alice requested green and orange cupcakes. This was SO MUCH FUN!!! Alice made sure each of the yolks was popped before she stirred. She was crackin’ me up!! On the Kimber Cakeware site, I noticed that they used squeeze bottles to put different colored batter in each side. This would have been soooooooooo much easier!! I will pick up bottles on my next shopping trip. Spooning cake batter with a two-year-old?? Yummmm fun! But, SO MESSY!!
