2016 Hyundai Elantra Review
Last week I had the total pleasure of driving the 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Once again I want to remind you that I am not a ‘car gal’ I know where to put the gas, check the oil and can, if need be, change my own oil. So, this review is not filled with a lot of technical jargon like torque, rpm and cylinder and such. However if you want to know from the NaNa slash Mommy aspect then continue on!!
The Hyundai Elantra Value Edition is a great midsize family sedan. This is a nice car with a smooth comfortable ride. And the gas mileage? Nothing short of AWESOME!!! I drove the Elantra for a full week, in Southern California which means that I drive in mainly stop and go traffic. Interstate 5 is basically a stop and go parking lot in the mornings and evenings. And yet I still managed to get almost 31 miles per gallon! That’s amazing! IF I could ever get a good stretch of road to drive on, the Elantra is supposed to get 38 miles to the gallon on the highway! How amazing is that?
The Elantra has tons of perks that I really love. Starting with the keyless entry. I love the keyless entry! As long as you have the key fob on your person, just hold the button on the door handle and the car doors lock and unlock. I accidentally found a HUGE bonus, you can NOT lock your keys in the car. Which (NOT on purpose) I did try to do. The car won’t lock, it does beep annoyingly at you which I LOVE!!! I truly love the fact that I can throw my key in my purse and never have to get it out again!! I didn’t. For a WEEK!! It was AWESOME!! I love whoever invented this feature!
Next feature is the driver’s side mirror. There is a smaller magnified mirror in the upper left corner. I would have never imagined that a small mirror like that would make such a difference. This mirror means you don’t have a blind spot! AT ALL!!
The next feature I love is the way the driver’s door controls are curved toward the driver, it makes using the buttons very easy.
Trunk space, WOW! This trunk would easily hold a Costco trip! The backseat also has a 60/40 split to add even more space if you need it.
A Few More Things I LOVE about the Hyundai 2016 Elantra Value Edition:
The hidden anchor for a car seat. It just makes the back window area look clean and neat; but it also makes installing the carseat VERY easy! There is room for 3 in the backseat or 2 with the arm rest/cup holder down.
The sunroof is another perk that I thoroughly enjoy.
In the comfortable drivers seat you have everything at your fingertips. From the comfortable steering wheel that has everything from phone, cruise, media and music to the cruise control. That comfortable driver seat is also heated which I LOVE.
In the center console there is an iPod®/USB and MP3 auxiliary input jacks!! ONE outlet is on the passenger side!! SAY WOOOO HOOOO! Passengers have their own outlet! I love that feature!
Safety
6 airbags!! SIX of them!! With advanced dual front airbags with occupant classification system, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags. YUP! Airbags on the ROOF!! Hyundai has really thought of everything.
The Elantra is equipped with vehicle stability management system, and electronic stability control with traction control system. The Elantra also has anti-lock braking system with brake assist.
However, one of the best features is the Hyundai Warranty!!
I am thoroughly impressed with the Elantra. The car is comfortable to drive and ride in. The safety features are awesome. The warranty is fantastic!!
This is a great CAR!!! More greatness? The 2016 Elantra Value Edition Limited is $20,650

Disclosure: I received a complimentary week driving the 2016 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition from DriveShop for the purpose of my review. No, they didn’t let me keep it…. they NEVER let me keep these cars!! No other compensation was provided. The opinions are mine and 100% honest. I have not been influenced in any way. Hey DriveShop guys; how about letting me test drive the new 2016 Hyundai Equus?!

Not only a really nice looking vehicle, it has so many safety features! And extra outlets – what a dream that would be, no more stretching the cords. Thanks for sharing.

I like that the seats are heated, such a great option, especially where I live, the winters can be so brutal at times, so cold, windy and snowy. Always need a good car to get around. It looks very nice, perhaps for my next car.

I think that it’s awesome that you get to review all of these great cars! I haven’t heard of six airbags before. I guess safety is key! 🙂

I like that the driver seat is heated! With 3 days of snow in the forecast and lows in the single digits, I could really use that.

Aghhh I REALLY need a car a.s.a.p. I´m going to have to start saving my money and spending it wisely in only the NECESSARY things because I want a car to get by around my town and most importantly: to get early to school lol.

I have a 2002 Elantra. It’s been a good car and when I got it I was thrilled to have intermittent wipers and electric windows (my old car was very old). This would be a fun car to replace mine.

Aww, what a shame. You should get to keep the cars! That would be a great incentive to review them. And if you’ve ever watched any “unboxing” videos or other review videos. most of those get to keep the products they review. You should too!

Are you serious about that keyless entry? That is a genius idea! Goodbye to fumbling for the key & trying to find the lock & get the key in while juggling bags of groceries–and of course either dropping a bag or having to put them down to get in the car!

It’s a great looking car & the blind-spot mirrors – perfect! Only last month I reversed into our wheelbarrow but when I think that it could have been a child or someone in a wheelchair …

This car looks great I need a new one
