Lunchtime Saturday 31st and all I’ve done so far are the usual chores & changed Mum’s colostomy bag. I don’t know what she’s been eating but it was awful this morning: it usually only takes me 10 minutes max but this took more than half an hour & I had to strip the bed afterwards. There was a sea of poo! We can laugh now but at the time it’s horrible because it stings Mum’s skin & makes her cry. Later I’ll pop up to the graveyard to put some lovely roses (the last in the garden) on his grave.

Well, it’s just 4pm here & I slept till lunchtime so half the day’s been wasted (well, not wasted but you know what I mean!). I’m going to do today what I’ve been putting off all week – go up a ladder & change the clocks back (our hour went back last weekend) and replace a couple of lightbulbs. I wish Dad was here to hold the ladder but he isn’t so I’ve got to be brave & just get on with it.

This is a very good day. My friend is coming down next week for a quick visit. I just received an e-mail informing me that I won a $7,000 trip, but I am going to decline due to taxes. I was trying to win a smaller prize like the $200 Stubhub gift card or the Bluetooth Speaker. Instead I won the grand prize which is a trip to Ohio for a college football game. Hopefully, an alternate winner will be selected to take my place.

Today I’m taking Mum to order Dad’s headstone so it’s going to be a rather sad day. It seems so final and I’m having to face the fact that he’s never coming home. I really missed him the other night, coming home from choir practice. He was always in the window at his pc & I’d flash my lights and he’s wave. My day wasn’t bad for a Monday. I went to work and to the gym after. For some reason, I got an upset stomach in the middle of working out so I didn’t do too much. It’s still upset now. It might have been something I ate at a fast food Chinese restaurant that is usually good.

Up early to take my car to the mechanic – it failed it’s emissions test so that means something’s wrong with either the exhaust ot the catalytic converter. All I know is it’s gonna cost me money that I just don’t have.

My days going pretty good today! We slept in a little , then had a big hearty breakfast of biscuits, sausage , hash browns and over easy eggs. Then we just piddled around the house doing odd random things with some cleaning mixed in. Sounds like a perfectly relaxing day to me! LOL

I, for some stupid reason, care about what people think of me. Therefore, I will always bow down to the problem just to make it all better. I am not sure that is a good habit. I am doing okay. Here is funny story about my animals. LOL so last week I go into the kitchen and I look beside of my sewing table and I see one of Sorcha’s dog biscuits. I told Chris about it and I said that one of the kitties must have done it and then threw it back to her. He thought maybe she did it but the dog doesn’t go into the kitchen unless for her water and to sometimes eat all of the cat’s food. AHEM. Bad dog. So I kept telling him it was the cats. I went in there last night and there is another one. He said that usually if I give it to her when she is being taken outside she will take it with her so now he does think it was the cats. Fucking cats. LOL I want to catch them doing it so I can see which one is doing it.

I was at the dentist on Saturday & he took x-rays but couldn’t find anything wrong with the tooth itself so I’m hoping it’s just sensitivity & nothing more serious. Did some babysitting of my youngest nephew today. (My sister-in-law lost her grandpa this morning. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago, & passed in his sleep.) My nephew is just 6, so he had questions about death. Yikes! They ask hard questions. They force you to really think about what you think about death.

I had a very easy but busy morning then headed into town for the weekly shop. I was queuing at the checkout when I got a call to come home asap. Mum’s colostomy bag was leaking everywhere & my sister was trying to sort it out but was panicking. I left the shopping, drove home & sorted the situation. No panic! Now it’s almost 4 in the afternoon & I couldn’t be bothered to drive all the way back into town – hey ho!

My sister brought a kitten up to our house last night. She’d heard it crying in an empty house & knew the landlord so they opened up & there it was. She doesn’t think it had been abandoned as it’s well fed & loves people – it must have slipped in while the landlord was checking the property the other day. She’s put posters up in the village shop, the 2 churches & the school but couldn’t keep it in her house as they’ve just got a new dog & she already has 2 rescue cats. Mum was not happy but it seems to have made herself at home & after a bit of tussling our rescue kitten seems to like her. The plan is to keep her over the weekend & then if no-one has claimed her to take her to the local animal welfare centre (if they have room). MY plan is to keep her but we’ll see!
