I’m getting close to the big 60! HOLY GUACAMOLE BATMAN!! SIXTY?!? As in SIX ZERO?! When and how the DUCK did that happen?!!? A little side note here…. I texted my sister about the final episode of Walking Dead Season 7 and well, my prim and proper phone changed my colorful language to DUCK!! So now I can use the word “DUCK” around 5-year-old Alice and not be worried she will pick up any bad habits from The Non. And on that same side note…… did you SEE the ending?! Did you SEE it coming?! ‘Cause I did NOT!!
Okay, where was I going with this? Oh yeah…. sixty. 1 year and 30 days away. YIKES! Sixty. I’m sorry, I just can’t stop saying it. 60 ties in with the topic of todays post. Which is being a hippie. Or my new description: Bohemian. I love that word. It screams free spirit to me. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and I identified with the title hippie. I mean hello, the word alone is cool, it brings visions of Joan Baez, Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin, embroidered tops, bell bottom jeans and real rock and roll music. Now that I’m; ummm, let’s say mature? My inner child prefers the title bohemian.
No matter what title you identify with boho chic is chic for a reason! It encompasses so many looks and styles. UNICEF has so many boho necklaces and boho jewelry in general that appeal to me no matter what my inner child is called!

This intriguing necklace features ivory and crimson gems. The sterling silver Y necklace is punctuated with beads of garnet and creamy white cultured freshwater pearls. Serving as the pendant is a replica pis bolong, an ancient coin brought to Bali from China that is now used in many Hindu ceremonies, as it is believed to bring good luck. This necklace is 17¾” long. I am certain that adding this to my sun salutations would bring me true inner peace.
These hand crafted earrings Hariyono in Bali feature three hoops in different contours and sizes in 18K gold plated brass look so fun and so unique that with my short hair these 1.9″ long, high polish finish are sure to get compliments galore!
Next up I would add a large, bold ring but in silver!
This wide band is a real show stopper! The shining tendrils intertwine to evoke the dense greenery of the Sangeh Forest near Denpasar. From Komang Wijayana in Bali, this stunning statement ring is lovingly crafted by hand and the fact that it’s 1.1″ long makes it perfection in my book for many reasons. I love a large bolder than life ring and I always mix gold and silver together with my jewelry, I really like the look!
Now to tie in the silver necklace, silver ring and the gold earrings all together, I would stack a couple of different bracelets on one arm. I love stacking bracelet so I would start with a bold dark brown leather piece with silver accent pieces like the one above. Then add a more feminine touch with this bracelet:
This bracelets charms tie in the gold earrings, the 24k gold plated brass, garnet, labradorite stones ties in the necklace. The pop of color is subtle and very feminine.
Because I want just a little more silver to tie the look together I would add this leather wrap with silver charms bracelet to my arm. Again, the charms tie in both the gold bracelet and the earrings, while the silver ties in the bold ring and necklace.
Since my inner Stevie Nicks wants to be heard I would also include this bracelet for good measure
I love all the different silver accents on this unique silver and garnet bracelet. Double strands of beaded garnet globes connected by a large hoop to strands of silver chains! This is a bracelet that could be worn alone or stacked, daytime to evening wear and absolutely guaranteed to get compliments. SO pretty!!
So there it is. My look in a nutshell and now I am feeling the need to blast some good old fashion Rock n Roll and dance around the house! After all once a hippie free spirit bohemian always a bohemian! Now, turn up the music please! This NaNa has some dancin’ to do!!

Ha, ha! Being in your 50s just means you’re old enough to remember the really good music! (And making statements like that is a sure sign I’m getting old, lol.) I love that necklace. It definitely reminds me of 70s boho.
