Happy New Year!! $50 Your Way Giveaway!
WOW! It’s the first giveaway for 2024!! Time is flying by. Idaho is still basically snow-free, which is weird. It hasn’t gotten below 20º here. WEIRD winter. Last December we were ready for snow-mageddon!
Christmas was good. We did a family Facetime, it was loud and fun. At least I was able to watch everyone open gifts. It’s not as good as being there in person but it’s better than nothing at all. RIGHT!? RIGHT!!
The Husband got a new Xbox (A group gift from everyone) and I haven’t seen him since.
I got a sublimation printer for crafting. What does that mean? That means I can make fancy tumblers, mugs, clothing and stuff. I’m excited to be able to sell at the Christmas craft fair next year. It’s gonna be AWESOME!!!
I’ve made 2 tumblers so far. The Husband received a Wolf Tumbler and Zachary requested this one….. he’s such weirdo!!
So, enough of the crafting! Let’s get on to the important stuff.
Now for the REAL reason you are here!!
This January Giveaway has the same exact spiel as last month, the month before and the month before that! The year before and well, you get the idea. I am truly thankful and feel blessed that you stopped by. A little of the blah blah blah stuff: This giveaway is open worldwide for PayPal, Venmo, and Amazon options only. (I’m not sure the other GC would work worldwide)
This giveaway is $50 US. This is a giveaway that is hosted only by me. So, coming back often and staying around for a while, looking at more than one page, really helps me. Of course, any extra clicks on advertisements and of course going through PBnWhine for your regular Amazon Purchases are always appreciated. Going through my blog does not cost you any additional money!! I do make a small commission.
Win $50 Your Way! Tons Of Ways to Enter The $50 Your Way Giveaway!! Comments!! I LOVE COMMENTS and SHARING!! Hint hint!! Okay, so technically, I love all the entries and I’m thrilled you do any of them! Every once and awhile I may add a new entry so be sure to double-check occasionally. Those entries may pop up at any time during the month. Usually in the form of a comment on a certain post.
Since I’m the sole sponsor of this giveaway, you can expect that all of the entries are about me, me, me, me…. and of course, ME!!
So, GOOD LUCK!!! Don’t forget to keep coming back… month after month….. year after year (you get the idea)
I am sorry, that stupid tweet button still doesn’t work. I’m so sorry!
GOOD LUCK Little Peanuts!!!!

It’s a good day. I’m really loving the extra minutes of sunlight each day. One day closer to Spring and I’ll take it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I am SO ready for Spring!! Today the fog lifted after a full week. That makes me so happy.
Shelly Peterson
We had a great birthday dinner for my son.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s so good.
Tamra Phelps
Lord, I am tired of January. I have this fear that tomorrow I will wake up in some odd version of Groundhog’s Day (the movie) and January will play all over again.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Nooooooo noooooooo nooooooo. February will be all better.
Karen R
My day is going well. I’m doing stetches ordered by my occupational therapist.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Karen you are a great patient. My Mom was THE WORST for following the therapists orders.
Kate Sarsfield
It has bucketed down all day – just grey sky, grey rain, blahhh … I’m tired after my stint at the rescue centre. My muscles ache!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Time for a nap. Dr. Connie has recommended it……. so it must be good advice. Right??
gloria patterson
January is almost gone……………………………. it has been the longest 365 day month!!!!
Feeling better but those naps keep calling me
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, I ABSOLUTELY agree. This month has gone so slow. I figure it’s because I’ve had a hard time getting off the mountain. I’m thinking a nap sounds really good. I think that’s my next project. I got February’s giveaway post ready to go. I’m to blah to craft so NAP it is. I’m so glad you are feeling better.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to a band concert tonight.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That will be a great evening.
l p
the day is going well. up early to take care of some errands, ran into some friends so went for tea, now on to the indoor chores. can’t believe it’s the end of January. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I was up at 5:30. I don’t know why. It was STILL dark. I know that does mean I will sleep good tonight.
Shelly Peterson
Today my son turns 21. WE are going to dinner tonight and celebrating more on the weekend.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy Birthday to your son! Have a great celebration.
Polly Hall
We had 26 new windows put in, it only took 2 half days, yesterday and today. They look great and the work crew was wonderful. Now that all for the heavy furniture is moved away from the log walls and all the pictures removed I have the not so fun job of scrubbing the logs before we put everything back. I’m so glad that the 54 year old windows are gone, loving the new ones & they will be so much easiers to clean.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHHHHHHHH Polly I’m loving the picture of your home that I have in my head. Sounds wonderful. I think we rival each other in windows. Let me get my fingers and toes to work……. OHHHH you beat me by 2. I have 24 windows and 6 sliding glass doors.
I agree. The Anderson people are AMAZING.
heather
I am up and getting ready to go to a doctor’s appointment today then to the store. I am just hoping that the weather will chill out the wind is really blowing out there right now.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Stay warm. Hopefully, it’s a good doctor visit.
Shelly Peterson
Today was a busy day. My son and I went to my daughters school and got some beauty stuff done. He got a facial. Then had errands to do
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s EXCELLENT!! I love Mom and Son days! I love MOM and Daughter days. OH HECK. I love all the days I can be with my family.
Tamra Phelps
It has been a slow day here. Still cold and rainy, but I was inside so no problem, lol.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I think you are getting all the rain we had last week. NOT a fan. I want SUNSHINE!
gloria patterson
Felt better needed a quick trip to Kroger out of a lot of basics. Then on to Kroger Fuel end of the month need to use points. Had a $1.10 off a gallon of gas………… makes for a low $ fuel fill up.
I was gone maybe 2 hrs total, got home put everything away……………….. AND THEN MY RECLINER STARTED YELLING AT ME…………………… 3 hrs later I feel rested 🙂
Connie: The Head Peanut
I do love my gas points from Safeway. I didn’t need gas but on the way home Monday I saw our station had $3.18 a gallon!! WOW!!! That was an awesome site.
l p
the day is going well. up and out early for errands. it’s a lovely day – lots of sun, warmth, and light breezes. going to do batch cooking today and tomorrow. look out freezer! thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sunshine?? I don’t remember what that looks like. Please send it to me?? Pretty please?
Karen R
My day is going well. My occupational therapist came and gave me a work-out.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s excellent. I’ll be you sleep really well after therapy. I REALLY should start using that fancy clothes hanger we have in the exercise room. I think they call it a ummmm a tread… ummmm treadmill?? MAN I make myself laugh.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to an evening at home.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We had a nice fire, watched THE FLoor and tried to compete with each other, it was a nice night. BTW I won. NO MATTER WHAT The Husband says.
Elizabeth
Heading out to stock up before the rain comes back tomorrow…
Kate Sarsfield
UGH! It’s turned cold again. Frost & ice covered everything this morning so decided not to go out. Gave some much needed TLC to my indoor plants & tidied up a bit. Time to light the fire & get some hot dinner into me.
heather
I am a little spooked the dog woke me up she was making a bark/cry sound and now I’m a little freaked out. I enjoy reading your replies to the comments that is nice of you. I love your blog the most.
Connie: The Head Peanut
HEATHER!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! I’m sending a BIG ole hug!! Thank you TRULY!!
Michele Soyer
Accomplished all that was on my list yesterday so today I will possibly transplant some veggies if they are big enough…I do know that if we sell soon these might get destroyed but I just have to do some gardening – keeps me from thinking and thinking….when that is done I have my Art History homework to do …… a lovely glass of wine and lunch!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent project. I am amazed at my yard the snow is melting so fast. Such WEIRD weather in Idaho.
Tamra Phelps
I fell asleep sitting here this evening and had a weird, realistic dream. Half woke up, felt like someone was behind me and turned expecting to see Mom (she was in the dream), of course, no one was there, which confused me. Strange. One of those oddly real dreams that for a few seconds seems more real than reality.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ahhhh Tamra, I think your Mom was checking up on you. I often feel my Mom around me. She’s also very sarcastic. I was always on her to stop smoking and out of the blue I can smell cigarette smoke. I KNOW she’s right there telling me…. NOPE! Not quitting yet!
Natalie
Today was a great day! I went for a long walk with my dog and had a good conversation with my dad.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Natalie, that sounds like an all around AWESOME day!!
gloria patterson
One more day of antibiotics I think I am starting to feel better. I am also spraying lysol ever where! Ever time I pass the can I pick it up.
Kate Sarsfield
At last! Don’t try to do too much to soon x
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, I am SO GLAD!
Polly Hall
Tomorrow Anderson windows start to put in our new windows, I’ve been packing things up and moving things around because they need 4 or more feet around the windows. Now I’m waiting on our son to stop by today after work to help us more the big heavy furniture.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Anderson did an AWESOME job for us and our 6 patio doors. I wish we would have bit the bullet and had them install our windows when we did them 4 or 5 years ago. The quality just can’t be beat.
Ed
Having an Ok day. Ugh Monday’s suck sometimes.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ed, I absolutely agree.
Kate Sarsfield
I had no idea today was Monday! Apart from going out on Wednesday’s, I rarely go out. My brain has somehow decided that my busy Wed. is my Saturday, therefore Thurs. is my Sunday … Anyway, another couple of hours spent outside digging, pulling & destroying my ‘garden’, then searching online for the cheapest car insurance. The difference is amazing in such a small country: dearest €594, cheapest €298!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW that’s a huge difference in cost. Do you have a lot of traffic? I am soooo intrigued by your home life. I think I’m just coming over. LOL
Ohhhh and the thing we ask Alexa the most??? Alexa what day is it? Followed by Alexa what’s the weather? Followed by how old is ……. insert actors name here. LOL
Shelly Peterson
It’s Monday already. I’m back to dialysis.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Shelly, how many days a week do you go to dialysis? BIG HUGS!
Elizabeth
Having some coffee while I figure out today’s plan…
Connie: The Head Peanut
When you figure out your day, I could use some help too. LOL TOO many options. NONE of them I want to do, clean, laundry, clean, bathrooms…. NOPE Let’s craft instead. Geeeee that was easier than I thought.
heather
I am a slow moving train this morning. I didn’t get a lot sleep last night. Lots of footballs yesterday and cake and ice cream.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It was a great football day. I’m looking for ward to the SUPER BOWL!!
Michele Soyer
Looking at my outside work list and if i don’t get up and move i will not get any of it done.. breakfast then out i go….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, you always amaze me. You do more before I even wake up, than I do all day.
Tamra Phelps
I need to start meditating or something, lol. I mean, I feel like I am so scatterbrained and unfcused these days.I need to re-center, or something like that, I think.
Michele Soyer
Maybe you will like it maybe not but I sit and listen to “gong therapy” meditation that is in utube – drives the cats crazy but it really calms me down – just a thought
Tamra Phelps
I’ll check it out–and Connie’s suggestions too.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I use CALM. At night before bed I love the brown noise it puts me OUT. They have great sessions for meditation, sleep, energizing. It’s my favorite app on my phone.
Well, after solitaire. Instagram, an….. never mind, it’s a favorite.
l p
the day is going well. it seems Sundays always go quickly, though. looking forward to coffee with friends later. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
The Husband and I both agree this last week in January has gone very slow. I think it’s the snow and not being able to get off the mountain.
gloria patterson
4th try
Kossy
Loving it already
Connie: The Head Peanut
Let me go see what is happening here. Hold please.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to watching some football this afternoon.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Football was great. Prediction on Super Bowl winner?? I’m going with KC. (Is them fightin’ words?)
Shelly Peterson
I’m going to go do laundry and hang out with the grandkids.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Still jealous. Maybe I’ll see if Alice wants to Facetime.
gloria patterson
3rd time………………………..
Connie: The Head Peanut
Hello again. I’m seeing all the comments. LOL the GHOST of PBnWhine just likes messin’ with you.
gloria patterson
WELL system does not like me today……………… wrote didn’t post 🙂
Connie: The Head Peanut
I do see them all. I DO LOVE your persistence. I love you… kiss kiss……
gloria patterson
3rd day of antibiotics some times I feel good and then bam I got to lay down. Decided I was going to walk down to the mailboxes, got to the door and hell no and laid back down. Now on top of the other joy I now have a ear ache 🙂 but I do have stuff for it. Most of what I doing is from my recliner
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, I’m so sorry. Feel better soon. Sending you a BIG hug.
Polly Hall
Looking forward to lunch with my sister and brother in-law in a few hours. Also my sister in-law will be cutting my hair too.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Polly THAT sounds like a perfect day.
Kate Sarsfield
More pulling up weeds & scutch grass till the rain came & it started to get cold. Back in bed now (3pm) & plan to have a nap. That’s about it, really.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It might hit FIFTY DEGREES TODAY?!?! WHAT?!? IN Idaho. IN January?! WHAT is happening?! I have flowers coming up. Which is insane because it’s going to snow next week.
heather
Ahhh… my comment didn’t post so I am trying it again. Just checking my emails and listening to an interesting show. Hope you have a really nice Sunday.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I see your comment too Heather. I swear the ghost of PBnWhine is loving to create havoc.
Michele Soyer
Took my coffee outside into the sunshine and was joined by the outside cats and Delilah who smells like a flower garden…now to make a bit of breakfast then prepping for Sunday lunch, some music and of course my book!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I want to sit outside. IN SUNSHINE. The fog right now is so dense you can’t see the road below us. I can’t see the end of the property.
Tamra Phelps
Can you believe it’s almost not Jabuary anymore, lol?? I think I need to take Connie’s advice and burn some sage around myself in February!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
SEE?? I have great ideas. Let’s all send some positive thoughts Tamra’s way.
Shelly Peterson
I slept in a little and then ran errands with my daughter.
gloria patterson
The story of my COLD FROM HELL! I have never in my life had a cold like this.
3 days of coughs, aches and blowing of my nose
OMG I am feeling better not so much coughs and blowing (3 days)
Then it comes back and bites me in the ass. Thursday early in the day I felt good, then it started to come back not all at once but over time. By friday morning I had it all back plus trouble breathing.
Finally made it down to the walk in clinic (little over a mile by car) timing was great no waiting. They tested me for flue/covid…………NOTHING Got prescriptions for PREDNISONE and AZITHROMYCIN
Kroger had the prescriptions ready when I got there 10 minute drive. And across the street was MaDonalds got a ice cream cone it felt so good on my throat.
Got home took the medication, leaned back in my recliner and was out till almost 1 am. Watched TV off and on for the rest of the night. I feel a little better today……….. and am MAKING myself do some stuff.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Okay, we need to sage you too Gloria. I hope you feel better soon. We all need to send some heeling vibes to Gloria AND Tamra.
Polly Hall
Made pancakes for breakfast and this afternoon I made Pumpkin bread to take to lunch tomorrow at my husbands brothers house. Told my husband that I’ve done enough in the kitchen today and that we are ordering pizza for dinner. He’s always onboard for pizza.
Michele Soyer
Take care – hope you feel better soon…
Connie: The Head Peanut
SWEET!!! Are you close enough to town to have pizza delivered? We aren’t. BUT I set the pizza on the heated seat and it’s still pretty warm when I get home.
l p
the day is going well. it’s getting warmer by the day. there were lots of construction workers out this morning but somehow, they were quiet so weren’t too disruptive to my plans. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s a good thing. At least the construction crew is being a little more respectful.
Kate Sarsfield
The cats let me sleep till 9am!!! After the usual chores I hit the garden with a vengeance. That bloomin’ scutch grass hasn’t got a chance!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW!! Good kitties.
Elizabeth
On the bus because I decided to run errands at the last minute…
Ed
Having a good day. Just watched one of my daughters play soccer this morning.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds like an excellent Saturday.
heather
My day is going pretty good so far. We are finally getting some rain they kept saying it was coming.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We get snow. I am really ready for some sunshine and some bright blue skies.
Michele Soyer
Bath day for Delilah then planning a BBQ meal for lunch – that is all I have on my list and oh yes reading!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, that sounds like a great day. Especially the reading part. How many books do you go through in a month?
Michele Soyer
I never really counted – I just love spebding a day readin and there are days I finish a book in 2 days – this one I amreading now is 700 pages and The Bee Sting was 900 they (lol) take much longer!
Tamra Phelps
Got some good news. After running a full culture, they decided I don’t have a UTI. Okay. Good to know, lol. Unforrtunately, I do have a stomach bug, but it’s better today so it’s oky.
Michele Soyer
Great news!
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s good/bad news. Feel better quick. My daughter just tested negative for Covid so back to work for her come Monday.
Karen R
Had my first visit from a physical therapist. I am beat.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Karen, PT does kick your butt doesn’t it. Nap time?? I hope PT is helping.
l p
the day is going well. it was ‘visiting day’ – visited a friend who is hospitalised after emergency surgery, visited some shut-ins – took the extra baking. it’s so nice to have the weather cooperating so travelling around wasn’t as much of a challenge. week-end coming up – hope everyone has a good one. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
You are a visiting angel!!
Kate Sarsfield
I’m still tired , even after all that sleep yesterday. Managed a 3-hour nap then spent a couple more hours pulling up the front garden.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I can’t wait for spring so I can do a little gardening. Why can’t flowers grow as quickly and hardy as weeds??
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to going to the Jets game tomorrow!
Shelly Peterson
Hooray for Friday! Have a great weekend! Today is dialysis.
Connie: The Head Peanut
{{{{{{{{{{{{Shelly}}}}}}}}}}
Elizabeth
I’ll sort the recycling after breakfast, and then figure things out from there…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Personally, I’m awake. That’s as far as my day has gone. LOL
heather
I am just getting going here this morning listening to the morning headlines. Did some shopping yesterday and still need to put things away.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I sent The Husband (in the big truck) to pick up our groceries. I’ll put them away when he gets home. That’s the extent of my day so far.
Michele Soyer
It is Friday so changing all the sheets and doing the laundry..Everything hanging out on the lines so that accomplished. I really should finish more of the chlorine work but to be honest climbing on top of the cistern to chlorine it with the full moon vibe is not something I want to do – so I won’t LOL…but i will make another pot of coffee and some french toast and enjoy my day…
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHHHHHH french toast sounds delicious. I actually ordered all the stuff to make tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. That just sounded so good to me all of a sudden. I do my grilled cheese sandwiches in the waffle maker. They come out all crunchy and gooey. Delllicioussss.
Karen R
My day, my week, my year is going great. I’ve been in the hospital and lost your blog url. I’m glad you are here and I’m happy to have found you.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH MY GOSH KAREN!!! Sending you BIG HUGS. I hope you are feeling much better. I’m so glad you are back.
Tamra Phelps
More rain. Another UTI. Stomach upset. Story of my life, lol.
Michele Soyer
All I wish for you is a day of complete health..please take care!
Kate Sarsfield
Oh no. You poor thing. Sending good vibes to your plumbing xxx
Connie: The Head Peanut
We need to burn some sage around you. LOL Once your stomach is all better then next month is a new month of ALL AMAZING GREAT things. I can feel it.
gloria patterson
What have I done today ……………….. called tmobile made some changes. I got smart I used the single digit on my cell phone and got a agent asap!!! I was on the phone less then 10 minutes.
And I need to talk to my mothers Medic Alert (which is great company) about a paper billing charge. After it said a 35 minute wait I hung up.
Had a 2 hr nap 🙂
Has been a very lazy day
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, naps GOOD!! 35 minutes on hold BAD!! At least the tmobile was a quick fix. We have Verizon and service up here is horrible. Somedays you have cell services like last month on the 1st Thursday I had 2 bars. Sending a picture? Is an all-day event.
Shelly Peterson
I woke up early and then fell back asleep. today is just a relax day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. Are you like me? When I fall back to sleep I seem to sleep deeper?
Ed
Having a good day. Had a nice meeting with a friend over coffee this morning.
l p
the day is going well. cooler than yesterday so it’s slippery out there. however, I got the errands run without a problem. time for a cuppa and then on to some baking for some friends who are more or less home-bound. gratitude is the word of the day there. thanks
Polly Hall
Not much going on today, I fixed enough dinner last night so we have enough leftovers for dinner tonight. Love days like this.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I LOVE it when I have leftovers. Nothing to think about. I have been trying hard to double recipes and freeze half. It’s so nice when I don’t feel like cooking. I wish I had someone close to me that we could do a full day of cooking and then have meals for a week. I think that would be a fun activity.
Kate Sarsfield
I was woken up at 6.30 – far too early for me – so once I’d fed the cats & let them out I went back to bed & slept till 10.30. Let them in, fed them, had breakfast & slept till 5.30pm!!! That’s a whole day gone and nothing to show for it. Ah, well…
gloria patterson
If you had any thing you needed to do, do it tomorrow other wise enjoy how relaxed and recharded you feel
Tamra Phelps
My Grandma Phelps always said if you slept the day away it was because your body needed it!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Absolutely.
Michele Soyer
You needed the rest – work will always be there…
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW! Your body must have needed that.
Elizabeth
Going to help my mom dye her hair, I hope it works out…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sweet! I finally gave up my red hair and let the gray in. Somedays I think OHMYGOSH what have I done. Where is the dye? Then other’s WHO see’s me except The Husband? So a white silver mix it is. I also started growing my hair out??! ACKKKK… I wonder how long I can last?
heather
My day is going pretty good so far. I slept in a little bit. I am getting ready to do some online shopping in a little bit.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sounds like a great day to me!
Michele Soyer
Finished the driveway yesterday and while I was out there I observed 3 cars with survey equipment parked on my property that bounds what should have been a paved road – I of course went to chat with them…Apparently they are the men of business for a party that purchased part of a 100 acre parcel that bounds me …nicely told them that where they are parking and setting up is private property and to get where they need to be cannot be reached via my property – they can walk and carry their equipment on the unpaved section of land between me and my neighbour but no cutting etc…short discussion on how to get to the survey spot but as the conversation ended they mentioned that the purchasing party is a developer….well I shared our sale advesrtisement with pics and the link to our agent..one never knows! today is full moon so I plan on reading and relaxing!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW Michele you had a productive day. Fingers crossed that information helps you sell. GOOD for you telling them OFF…. OUT……. but ever so nicely.
Tamra Phelps
Oh, I hope this is the reason the other sale fell through. Somebody up there knew a developer was on his way, lol!!
Tamra Phelps
There is not a lot going on around here. We are back to rain instead of snow. Of course, the snow will be back next week. Sigh.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Yeah, same here. NOT happy. BUT! By the weekend we could be in the 50’s?!?! In January? In Idaho?? I’ll believe it when I see it.
Polly Hall
I’ve been ordering my groceries online every Wed. since I broke my leg then my husband goes and picks them up. It has worked out quite well, I was worried that the fresh produce woud not be that great but have to say they are really doing a good job.
Connie: The Head Peanut
SAME HERE!!! I don’t ever want to go inside and grocery shop again. It’s SO nice, send The Husband to town and I get exactly what I want every time. I’m saving money too. I am A HORRIBLE impulse buyer. I’ve also stopped shopping on Amazon until the snow is gone, drivers can’t get up here so we have to take the side by side down the mountain and meet the driver. Not worth all the hassle. I’m so proud of myself saving money…. this month. LOL
Polly Hall
Good for you, my husband buys everything on Amazon we get a delivery a few times a week. He hates going shopping as much as I do, he just bought himself 2 new pair of pants on amazon. I’m so glad that they fix so I do not have to send them back.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I would do that in a heartbeat, but our road is so bad that drivers can’t get up here in the winter. The Husband took the side by side down to get the mail and found UPS had left a box in the snow after the first bend in the road. GESH! I am trying SO hard (can we say withdrawals1) not to shop on Amazon until the snow melts.
Kate Sarsfield
Another busy day with the animals but at least it’s stopped raining and blowing. The sun & full moon were both out this afternoon! Tired now so soup & cuddles.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s GREAT news Kate. Did you have any damage? Other than fallen branches?
Kate Sarsfield
No, thank goodness!
gloria patterson
I was headed to Walmart for a quick stock up. Pulled my heavy coat out then check temp almost 38 and headed to 50. So switched to a sweatshirt and was comfortable.
I keep a COLD BAG with stuff I know I need when I have a cold. I have just about cleaned the bag out of stuff, this cold has kicked my ass BUT I think it is on the way out the door.
Got my new JD Robb book a day late. Not sure if I will start now or wait till the weekend.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We are supposed to get your 50 degree weather this weekend and I’m SO HAPPY!! Our road is 100% impassable. The Husband took the side by side down to the mailbox (Haven’t been there in a WEEK!?) He said the road is a HUGE mess MANY MANY cars have tried to get down off the mountain and failed. Lots of tire marks where cars had to be pulled out of the mud. UGH!! It’s official. NOW I want to go bye bye.
I got my JD Robb book today too. Can’t wait to start it.
gloria patterson
Winter is really screwing with us this year. Glad you got your book something to read this weekend.
I was thinking about you and started wondering how and when you got in to blogging. For all that don’t know it would be a good thing to write about next month 🙂
Connie: The Head Peanut
YOU are so smart. Deal. I will write something and get it posted. I REALLY need to get back into Crafty Little Me Monday’s and Trail Cam Fridays. What else ya got? I absolutely love to write but I need prompts. I can write about anything when I have a title or a subject. I think Idaho froze that part of my brain. LOL
l p
the day is going well. got the shopping done early so the rest of the day is indoors. a break in the weather is coming – hopefully. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I can’t wait for the break in weather here! I’m tired of being couped up.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to eating some chicken wings tonight while watching the Jets game!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sounds like a great day to me.
Elizabeth
Trying to catch up on my reading before everything gets crazy…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Crazy is on it’s way. LOL I always expect the crazy.

My day is going pretty good so far just listening to the news think I’ve heard enough. Also planning out my day hope you have a great one.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Thank you Heather. I hope your day goes splendidly.
Michele Soyer
Did all my shopping yesterday so today is back out to work..Goal for today is to do the driveway – that is enough for me for today! I have plenty of chlorine and clorox so onward!
Connie: The Head Peanut
If you wanna come and do mine I would NOT mind at all. LOL Good luck.

It’s a good day today. Baking with the kids is always fun – and tasty. They choose the recipe from a list I have and off we go.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OMGEEEEEEEEEE that’s awesome. I love that idea. Now IF I could just get my Grands UP here in Idaho with me.
Elizabeth
After some train and bus delays yesterday (which could have been much worse), I’m relaxing at home today!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Elizabeth, that sounds like an excellent plan.
l p
the day is going well. got some errands run and now it’s time for a cuppa. then back to cleaning. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I really should go upstairs and clean. BUT, my craftroom is clean so really isn’t that the most important room?
Shelly Peterson
My daughter is in college and I went and got a facial from her this morning. It was really nice.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHHHHHHHH that sounds fabulous. I so badly need a pampering facial.
Polly Hall
It has been raining here most of the day, it’s suppose to turn to ice when the temp goes down. Hope everyone stays safe driving in it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We ARE still getting rain. 3 days so far. We have solid ice from the front door to the highway. Grrrrrrr
gloria patterson
the way it is with my dr office you need to be there 10;15 if you have 10:30 apointment. I was there at 10:15 when I went back to the waiting room I got the last seat. People were have to go to the next waiting room. The place was backed!! They finally called me in at 10:45 and I finally got to see the PA 11:00. After talking about my knee replacement he checked the schedule I am not on it for the next 3 months…………………. SO I GOT STEROID SHOTS IN BOTH KNEES!!!
Makes me a happy camper………………….. now I think a nap is calling me
Connie: The Head Peanut
3 months!! YIKES AT least the winter crap will be over when you have the surgery so that’s something right? Doctor appointments really do take too dang long JUST in the waiting room. I have to say though in our little town the wait time is way less. I do love my little town.
Kate Sarsfield
Storm Isha just blown over & now on red alert for Storm Jocelyn! Managed to get some more gardening done though, only a fraction of what needs to be done but every little helps, right? Time to hunker down now,
Connie: The Head Peanut
Kate, you are being hammered. DANG!! Stay safe. Stay warm. Take a nap. What’s a good Irish term for OH HOLY HELL?? Stay safe.
gloria patterson
Make you some tea and good book in bed with your little ones. Rest and relax stay safe
Connie: The Head Peanut
Kate’s advice is WAY better. Go to bed.
heather
I am doing pretty good this morning. Just waking up right now drinking my tea and planning my day. I have to hunt down an Amazon order today not looking forward to doing that.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh no! Does that mean the porch pirates have struck again? Good luck
heather
No, Amazon hasn’t even shipped it yet so I get to talk to someone named Jane in some other country.
Connie: The Head Peanut
ROFLAMAO OH I do love that when the name DOES NOT even match. Cracks me up.
Ed
Had a good day. Starting to look at options for a summer road trip already.
Connie: The Head Peanut
My daughter and I have THE BEST Mom/Daughter Road trips. She is always game to do a side trip.
Kal
It’s finally getting warmer. My furnace is showing its age so I guess that’s the major investment I have to make soon. Hopefully it will hang in there until the spring. I do love my space heaters.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH NO!!! Yikes. Fingers crossed it lasts till summer.
Polly Hall
A nice normal day, nothing going on so that makes it a good day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It’s STILL raining here. So, The Husband is out trying to crack the 3″ deep ice on the driveaway. It’s still an ice rink.
l p
the day is going well so far. can’t believe it’s near the end of January and I’m still putting things away from Christmas. c’est la vie. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Christmas decor is down here too. Except every now and again I spot something I missed.
gloria patterson
This cold is kicking my butt……………….. I have had so much sleep. Done a few things but not much
Was going to catch up some forms today that I need printed but COMCAST was working on our service. Maybe to improve it. Back up about 2 and got my must do done.
Have to go the Dr tomorow for a cortizone shot in my left knee. I wish it was in both knees but there are plan for right knee replacement in the spring.
Suns out and the little bit of snow we got is melting and temp is 41 right now. Out at my brothers they got about 10 inches or more. From my house to there is only 20 minutes.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, I am so sorry your cold is still in full force. If you can when you are out tomorrow grab some Zinc tablets. I swear they help me so much.
I watched the news this morning, next week we could be in the FIFTIES!! 50! FIFTY! WHAT!? Weirdest winter ever.
Feel better.
gloria patterson
I made note about the Zinc never hurts to have. I try to keep a bag of misc cold stuff and I have used most of these past 4 days or so.
Our temps the rest week are in the mid 50’s
Connie: The Head Peanut
Feel better quick.
Elizabeth
Rainy in SF this morning, hope things go okay getting home…
Connie: The Head Peanut
It’s raining here too. I had to cancel a doctor appointment for today. I have a sheet of 3+ inch ICE from the house to the road. NOPE This girl is NOT going anywhere.
Shelly Peterson
I am not ready to start a new week, but here we go.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m with you. I didn’t even want to get out of bed.
Kate Sarsfield
We had a really bad storm last night, even tornadoes in some places! Luckily all well here, apart from dead branches down, but no damage. Another storm due tonight & I’ve already lost internet and electricity for a couple of hours today so doing this quickly while I can.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHMYGOSH Kate, stay warm and safe.
gloria patterson
Dead branches for your fire…………..saves you a little work BE SAFE
heather
I am getting going here today still dark out. I am making my shopping list for the store now if only I will remember to look at said list while in the store.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We are so the same. OR I go for ONE thing, come out with a basket full ………. EXCEPT that one thing.
Michele Soyer
Well made all my shopping lists for tomorrow so that is done. sitting down after breakfast and making a work list for this week.. So far no one is coming for a site visit so I can do all whitening work on the concrete walkways all the way out to the barn and beyond – there are many other small tasks and if I write them down i will keep myself motivated to do them…Honestly I will be so grateful to down size when we eventually get to Corfu – my big house days are over.. grew up in a big house in the city and in the states after marriage another big house and then here – well – the biggest ever.. No more so done with all this! Grateful I had it – times change ….
Connie: The Head Peanut
I hope you get a buyer soon. FINGERS Crossed and prayers sent.
Ed
Had a good day. Supper with my dad and brother and watching some football too!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Family time is THE BEST!!
tammy ta
My day was okay. As always went by way too fast.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Time is going so fast for me too. I can’t believe we are almost at the end of JANUARY!? Slowwwww down time………
Shelly Peterson
I went to breakfast with my family and then went to see the grankids.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m still jealous. Although now Alice has her own phone I do get texts and I will take it!!
l p
the day is going well. it snowed a lot today – just what we needed. I hope it does some good. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
We are so snowed I’m sorry, we are SO ICED in that I’m beginning to think it will be August before I get to leave the house.
Elizabeth
Waiting for my Georgian cheese boat at a restaurant in San Francisco!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I don’t know what that is… but cheese…… restaurant AND SF?? I’m IN!!
Polly Hall
It’s cold outside but nice and warm inside, relaxing and watching movies.
gloria patterson
Out of my apartment for the first time on thursday………….. and I caugh a cold. NO it is not COVID I took the test. UP and down all night long. Got up a 8 showered dressed and back in my recliner for about 4 hrs. The good thing is I have 5 or 6 different cold products…………… so hope something helps. It is 22 and sun is out and melting the snow.
Connie: The Head Peanut
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Gloria!}}}}}}}}}}}}} feel better quick. Daughter Selena DOES have covid. Between the kid and the job…… she just can’t win with those little bugs.
gloria patterson
People are now catching it who have never had and also had the shots.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Makes me glad I live on a mountain isolated. (Well, sorta…. I really wanna go bye bye now)
Suzie B
I am just waiting on the financing to go through; and when it does – I have bought a new car! Very exciting but nerve wracking
Connie: The Head Peanut
Congratulations SUZIE!!! What kind of car? Keep us posted.
heather
My morning is going pretty good so far. I am just reading my emails and deleting tons of spam. Hope you have a great Sunday we are getting rain here and I love it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather do you find that if you go in and unsubscribe that you actually get MORE email junk? Or is it just me? We have rain now too, but it’s turning the snow into solid ICE. I’m way too scared to leave the house for a couple of days. I DON’T think my car is meant to go AIR BORN. LOL
Michele Soyer
Happy Sunday all…Mass on utube then breakfast , start Sunday lunch…I must go out to the shoppes this week so making my lists, then my book , music on and relaxation!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele that sounds like a perfect Sunday.
Kate Sarsfield
It’s almost noon & so far all I’ve done is fed the cats, let the cats out, let cats in, let them out again … lit the fire, had brekky in peace, let them in again & now we’re back in bed! Weather-wise, we’re on red alert for very high winds.
Michele Soyer
Glad you are warm and safe inside…
gloria patterson
Sounds like a great way to spend a sunday
Connie: The Head Peanut
Good day to stay home in bed. Stay safe. Stay cuddled.
Ed
Had a good day. Spent the most of it hanging out at my in laws.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sounds like a great Sunday.
Tamra Phelps
I just want it to get a bit warmer, above freezing, so the snow will melt, lol. Wheelchairs and snow/ice do not go together!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhh nooooooo they do not. Stay home. Stay warm. Take a nap.
Shelly Peterson
I was up early. I picked up a grocery order and then just relaxed.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Shelly, relaxing Sunday is perfect. The Husband and I call it “Do what you want” Sundays. I of course am in my craft room. (WHERE else would I be??)
Kari
It’s a lovely day here. I’m doing some baking to take to a friend. I hope everything turns out.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Kari that sounds fabulous. I’m here if you need more friends to deliver too. LOL
Kate Sarsfield
RAIN & v.windy with a gale blowing in tonight and tomorrow with speeds up to 100 m.p.h.! Popped out for more catfood, watched an old movie with John Carradine as The Cosmic Man and Bringing Up Baby with my 2 fave actors, Grant & Hepburn.
Tamra Phelps
Bringing Up Baby is one of my faves, too. I love them in Philadelphia Story and Holiday, too.
Connie: The Head Peanut
WHAT!? 100MPH!??! WHAT!??! Be safe. ONE HUNDRED!? I can’t even imagine outside a tornado. Do you get tornado’s? ONE HUNDRED!?! I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that one. Stay safe my friend.
Polly Hall
I’s been a good Saturday so far, our son will be coming over for dinner tonight.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds like THE PERFECT Sunday. I wish my kids lived close. Hopefully you will have an update on what the company decided to do. Like, for sure close? (Still weird!)
gloria patterson
Up and at around 7, did a few chores, made breakfast ………………………. CATCHING A COLD!!
After a short nap up and moving.
In town we only got about 2 inches or so, it is 18 right now. Just reading on facebook in the surounding higher areas they have as much at 15 inches. I have no need or want to go any where.
Back to my book
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, take ZINC NOW! It kicks our colds out fast. I swear by Zinc.
Stay warm. I agree. STAY inside.
Elizabeth
On the bus to go to Sketchfest this weekend, hoping the roads/trees are kindly!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Have FUN!!
heather
It must be Saturday because I am running in slow motion today even slept in. Hope you have a nice day we are expecting rain here I sure hope so I love the rain.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I hope you have a full-on recharging day.
Michele Soyer
Well got moving early so I can spend the day reading – fed everybody, sanitized the aviary, swept everywhere outside that needed sweeping – now reading that covid is back here with hospitalizations…at this point the government has not set any protocols … we should not need any – hand washing is normal behaviour – stay at home if you are compromised and mask if you feel the need to – common sense should prevail… More coffee, breakfast and my book!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Absolutely! Wash your hands! Stay home. I totally agree. Enjoy your day.
Kate Sarsfield
It’s here too (not that it ever went away) & seems like a bad chesty flu & v. tiring. I’ve had 5 vaccines but I’ve started wearing a mask again in crowded places.
Ed
Had a good day. Looking forward to a fun day tomorrow!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. Enjoy your weekend.
l p
the day is going well. the weather is a bit warmer but the wind still is the game changer. still needing lots of extra layers to get out for errands and grateful to have them.
it’s not the will power I lack, it’s the won’t power that is weak.
thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
LOL! I know that feeling. Be safe while you are on your errands.
gloria patterson
They have been talking about the BIG SNOW STORM coming to this area. School closed, WVU canceled all classes, some local Dr’s offices closed, they closed all the Dr’s offices in the WV Hospital at 4 pm.
As of 4:30 we might have about 2 inches and it is 27…………………. so just waiting to see what shows up over night.
To Day ………………… Nap, book, TV, laptop LAZY DAY
HAVE NOT BEEN OUT OF MY APARTMENT TODAY
Connie: The Head Peanut
YIKES!! I say it’s time to hunker down ALL Weekend. Stay warm.
Polly Hall
My husband put in my new dish washer that he gave me for Christmas. My old one went out over 15 years ago, I’ve been using it for storage of food that I wanted to hide from him because he eats everything in site. Now I have to find another hiding place but so happy to not have to wash dishes by hand.
Connie: The Head Peanut
HOT diggity!!! Congratulation. NO MORE hand washing! New dishwashers are amazing. They take off so much gunk I’m always amazed by mine. What food does he hate? Use that box to hide goodies. LOL!
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! I am ready for the weekend. We got more snow this morning.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Snowing here too. We are expecting rain starting tomorrow through Wednesday. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
Kate Sarsfield
I’m still surrounded by snow but big black rain clouds are heading this way. Had a little walk with the boys, checked out my spring bulbs and gathered some more kindling for drying. And that’s ALL I’ve done today! Tamra, I’ve still got choccy goodies left over from Christmas but they will be demolished by tonight!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WHAT!? Chocolate from CHRISTMAS!? I’ve already eaten all the VALENTINE goodies I bought. (Hummmm does this have any correlation to the size of my buttocks?? Na!) I would love to see the boys on a walk. I bet it’s the cutest thing ever.
Tamra Phelps
You must have an iron will!!
heather
Happy Friday to you. I am just getting going here today thinking about what I need to get while I am at the grocery store.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy Friday right back atcha. I have a list started…… but, it’s snowing so hard I have no plans to actually get off the mountain soon.
Michele Soyer
Best laid plans… early this morning the sun was out blazing so made a pot of coffee, fed the insdie cats took my carafe and went down with my book to read – by the time I organized myself the black clouds came in abundance and the rain started.. it is now pouring with wind.. LOL. well making some kind of mocha dessert today and thats about it…
Connie: The Head Peanut
MOCHA DESSERT!?!? I’m ON MY WAY!!! We had pretty blue skies for about 23 SECONDS then the clouds came in and the sky let loose with buckets of snow. Stay warm.
l p
the day is going quite well. felt like it was a whack-a-mole around here just trying to cross the road. every time I turned around, they moved the ‘road closed’ sign. good to get home and have a cuppa…. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh no. Well, stay home and enjoy your hot cuppa.
Ed
Had a good day. One more day till the weekend!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOO HOO!! Any big plans for the weekend?? I got nutin’ except more snow and then rain. THEN decide whether or not to charge for the BIG ICE SLICK for skating. ECCCCCKKKKKKKK
Tamra Phelps
Nothing much going on here. More cold, but supposedly it will warm up early next week.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Warming up sounds so good. I would love a BRIGHT blue sky and some sunshine.
Shelly Peterson
Today I stayed in and did nothing at all.
Connie: The Head Peanut
THAT sounds EXCELLENT. I’m going to use a picture I took (it’s on Instagram) from my patio and try it on a tumbler for next year’s Craft Fair.
gloria patterson
Got my stiches out today…………….. they look kinda gross and skin feels tight. BUT the hand does not hurt. Go back in 3 months but he says they will continue to get better.
Quick trip to krogers to pick up a few things for me and some for mom. The temp is going back down and more snow through the weekend…………………….. B U T we are in the 50’s next week….. going to have a beach party in parking lot.
Connie: The Head Peanut
LOL we are supposed to be in the 40’s at the end of next week, The Husband said the same thing! Time for swimsuits! I’m so glad your hand feels better. YEAH!!! Gloria how far away does Mom live? P.S. your more than welcome to take my list next time. LOLOLOLOL please?
gloria patterson
Connie we live in the same senior apartment building. She lives on the 8th floor and I live on the 6th floor. She is almost 95 but hates to go out in the cold. So picking up and dropping off stuff not a big deal……………………………… Afraid your list would be a little harder to deliver LOL
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHhhhhhhhhhhh I remember that. DUH!! Brain farts are my new thing. How many relatives live in your building? It’s like a family compound because that would be MY HEAVEN. Having me and my kids w/families all together. 95 is AWESOME!!!
Polly Hall
Our son stopped by today and told us that the company he works for has been sold and the new owners are planning on closing in a few months. Now I have another worry for my son, we as mothers alway worry about our kids no matter how old they are.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Isn’t that the truth!?!! I hope your son finds a new job soon. I’m so sorry for him. What a weird thing though, buy a company and then close it? WEIRD!
Elizabeth
Gotta pick up a faucet cartridge, then playing it by ear after that…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Hello YouTube. They have everything. Good LUCK!
Kate Sarsfield
More snow and yes, I made a snowman of sorts! No sign of it melting but rain & warmer temps due for the rest of the week so we’re making the most of it. I’m so lucky to have a roof over my head, fuel for the fire & food for the belly.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m lucky too. Warm, protected and lots of food in my big ole belly. I’m glad your taking a day off. Stay warm.
gloria patterson
That is the way to think!!!! Pictures of the snowman??? What did the kids think of him?? LOL
heather
I am having a nice morning so far. I am still recovering from a dental cleaning yesterday that lasted 2 hours but no cavities so that’s good news.
Connie: The Head Peanut
My teeth protested for you. 2 hours in my least favorite place in the world.
Michele Soyer
Plan on going outside and checking on weeds – lol – looked at the other areas of concrete around the property and decided to pick up some more chlorine and clorox on Monday and continue whitening the areas that look a bit dark…waiting just waiting for any forward sale movement – this is driving me nutz! anyway I did wake up this morning with a go go attitude so better get going!
Connie: The Head Peanut
EXCELLENT plan, I finally have hot water in the kitchen AND the laundry room. SO I am catching up on my laundry.
Ed
Had a good day. Did some volunteering this morning.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent day!
Polly Hall
A nice day here, the snow looks so serene and the sun even came out for a while.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here. The snow looks so pretty. Beautiful blue sky. BUT SO COLD!! NOT looking forward to the rain tomorrow. The Husband is out with the tractor trying to get as much snow off the road as possible just so we don’t have a block of ice on the entire driveway.
l p
the day is going well. a couple of appointments went better than expected. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s great. Better than expected is always great.
gloria patterson
Kids were off school again and I am betting they will be off the rest of the week. It is just to COLD for the kids to be out waiting on bus. Right now we are up to 21 and the little bit of snow is trying to melt. The roads are clear. The parking lot is looking empty ever one out to the stores.
I have a Dr apointment tomorrow to take stiches out, so I will do some shopping tomorrow.
Have not done much of anything today
Connie: The Head Peanut
We had a local school bus tip over in a snow ditch. No one hurt just a…… WHY wasn’t school cancelled kind of moment.
Kate Sarsfield
SNOW!!! And very cold & icy. Made it to the rescue centre. 2 more kittens have died, one had lesions on it’s lungs, the other, no apparent reason, but path tests ongoing.
Started snowing on my way home & there’s about 4″ out there now. The cats are loving it but I’m in bed with a roaring fire going and I’m not budging!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m so sorry about the kitties. Win I win the lottery I want a fireplace in my bedroom. IF I had one in my craft room I would really never leave. Enjoy your cuddle in bed day.
Kim Pincombe-Cole
I’ve had a ROUGH start to 2024. I was exposed to RSV on Christmas and by NYE I had full blown RSV. Finally got as seen by my doctor and put on steroids but was then rushed to the hospital in respiratory distress & asthma last Monday. Spent the entire week in the hospital and now I’m home. Not my best start to a new year 😞
gloria patterson
WOW that was rough for you. This past year was the first time I ever hear about RSV. And the shot was the first time they ever had one. REST and RECHARGE
Kate Sarsfield
Welcome back, Kim! Things can only get better from now on xx
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH MY GOSH KIM!!!!!!!!! I’m so glad you are back. Okay, you have had enough bad for 2024. It’s all good from here on. OH MY GOSH!! Are you feeling okay now? REST!
Shelly Peterson
Well we have snow this morning. I hope we don’t get as much as they predict.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same HERE!! We are predicted to get 12″ today and the same tomorrow. Fingers crossed for both of us.
gloria patterson
All right Connie I am going be a bitch ……………………… KEEP THE SNOW …. KEEP THE COLD
DO NOT SEND IT TO THE EAST COAST
Connie: The Head Peanut
BUT GLORIA! I am a giving, caring, loving person THAT NEEDS to share.
gloria patterson
LOL LOL LOL
heather
I am off to the dentist today for a cleaning hope all goes well not a big fan of the dentist. I am going to have a good day though and hope you do too.
Connie: The Head Peanut
You too Heather. Fingers crossed for just a cleaning.
Michele Soyer
Well after breakfast I do need to clean out canisters …..dust the dining room and pledge the furniture… all outside work done and the downstairs is spotless so I guess I will have to suffer through reading, music and more Grandchester!
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds like a most excellent day….. well, minus the dusting that is. LOL Any walk throughs this week?
Michele Soyer
Sadly no Connie – once again queries then. – wow – 6 acres. 2 houses one a 2 story – thanks but too big for us…
Connie: The Head Peanut
UGH!! I’m so sorry. It’s going to be PERFECT for someone. REALLY soon.
Ed
Had a good day today. The Jets won tonight!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent!!
Polly Hall
I had my appointment with my orthopedic doctor my fractured leg is healing well
Connie: The Head Peanut
Polly, that is awesome news.
Tamra Phelps
It seems to be freezing everywhere, lol. It definitely is here. Man, I want to see some sun!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, me TOOOO!! Please!! We FINALLY have hot water in the kitchen and the laundry room. Still no working oven though.
gloria patterson
Remember paper plates are your friend.
And you have a stove that is burning cook some food on it…………
Hope no pipe damages
Connie: The Head Peanut
I am SO GLAD to report that the oven is working again. I put my little electric heater on the door and let it heat up the inside for about 30 minutes and VOILA! I have an oven again. All the pipes are finally giving me hot water. EVEN the washing machine.
Shelly Peterson
I was woken up early from the noisey neighbors and then I had the grandbabies all day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Rude neighbors! But fun with Grandbabies will fix that. You should sleep really well tonight.
Elizabeth
Going to run some library errands, and try to return some shoes…
Connie: The Head Peanut
We are staying put. It’s been snowing steadily from midnight……… till tomorrow night and then on and off until NEXT MONDAY!??!
Kate Sarsfield
I’m COLD! Tried to sort the printer out yet again & failed. Sleet outside so stayed in & went back to bed. Prepped a couple of meals for the rest of the week and that’s about it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
In bed sounds like the perfect place to be. I know it’s a stupid question to ask but did you YouTube your printer? Maybe someone else had your problem?
Kate Sarsfield
That’s a good idea! Now sis is home she’s explaining things a bit (in between naps) so I’ve been able to connect the printer to the internet & it did a test print. But it doesn’t seem to want to print from the pc.
tammy ta
My day has been ok. Lots of pretty snow falling the whole day to watch.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Pretty from inside. That’s the way to watch the snow.
gloria patterson
Well I typed a lot post BUT after hitting enter…………………. post now showing up……….. OH well
COLD COLD COLD
Connie: The Head Peanut
AGREED! COLD! COLD! Stay warm my friend.
heather
My day is going to be better than yesterday was I have my fingers crossed. Hope you have a great day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I hope the rest of the MONTH (Year!) goes perfectly for you.
Michele Soyer
Must admit I am a bit tired from yesterday so – plan for today – sit in the sun for awhile with my book then my guilty pleasure watching some Granchester – love the vicar! also catching up on the case of the Natalia Grace mystery case in Indiana in the states…Oh and scrubbed out some old ceramic spice jars that are really vintage and lovely but need new labels so off to do some creative label printing….
Kate Sarsfield
Sun? With heat? Oh, you lucky thing!
Tamra Phelps
Oh, I binge watched the Natalia Grace thing the other day, lol. That is the strangest thing ever. The couple who adopted her were just bonkers.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I haven’t watched that one. I will put it on my list. I like watching train wreck bonker people. LOL
Connie: The Head Peanut
I will add that series to my list too. Sit outside? Sooooooooo jealous. I AM NOT GOING OUTSIDE. I’m not even sure that my deer will be fed today.
Katrine
Mercy, it’s cold out there! I can’t wait for this system to head off into the sunset, as it were. I have to go out tomorrow. I hope my clothes will be enough to keep me warm and safe.
Connie: The Head Peanut
So cold! It’s a for sure that Mother Nature finally found Idaho. It’s SO COLD. Stay warm and safe.
Ed
Had a good day. Looking forward to our cold snap ending soon.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I am READY for spring. Like YESTERDAY ready!
Lisa F.
Okay day. Off work, which was good. I visit my mom at the nursing home every evening at dinner, so nice to relax a bit before.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Lisa, you are SUCH AN AMAZING daughter! I know your Mom appreciates you. Sending you BIG HUGS!
Tamra Phelps
Got an email yesterday addressed to Mom. She has been dead almost 7 years. Clearly some scammer has gotten hold of an old email list, lol.. (Mom didn’t use email. so she used mine if necesary.) It waas supposedly delivery of something she had ordered using Paypal (which she also did not have.) Anyway, I’m guessing they hoped she would panic and call the number they listed in case of any problems…yeah, right.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I think we lost our Mom’s within months of each other. And Kate too? Mom has been gone 6 years December. Some days it seems yesterday and one day it seems like forever.
gloria patterson
Text from niece, great niece wants to spend the day with me (no school) Sure bring her over. I am wore out, she is good but ever minute is filled with something! Gone has a peanutbutter sandwich, few things on the computer and ready for bed.
Polly Hall
we only received 1 inch of snow last night, but the temps have gone down we had a high of 10 today.
l p
the day is going well. was able to get out for an appointment. wearing many layers to deal with the cold. thanks
tammy ta
My day has been pretty easy going today at work.
Connie: The Head Peanut
HORRAH! For easy workday.
Kate Sarsfield
Spent a couple of hours attacking the front garden again. Beginning to see a bit of difference but there’s an awful long way to go. We’re due some sleet/snow tonight & rain tomorrow so I’ll try to get the printer going again, My sister had surgery on Wed. last for a hernia which was causing awful reflux. She’s home now & doing well. Her latest news: Tina, Mum’s hairdresser, aged 46, has just had twins by IVF! Mum would have been so delighted for her.
Tamra Phelps
Twins??? Boy, she is starting off with a handful. That sounds great, though.
Kate Sarsfield
and at 46? I wouldn’t have been able! She comes from a large family though, so will have lots of help.
Connie: The Head Peanut
TWINS? Oh fun! What a handful she will have.
Shelly Peterson
I did not want to get up today. I am tired and not feeling good.
Elizabeth
Going to figure out my errand plans in a while…
heather
My day is off to a nice start. I am trying to type with my cat sitting on my lap she is a mama’s girl.
Michele Soyer
Hello Monday! up at half 5 am. dressed and made a pot of coffee…Took said coffee downstairs to feed the cats and have coffee with them and Delilah…As soon as it got lighter took my tools opened the gates to the road and trimmed all the bushes and hedges there…trimmed a few larger bushes – closed the gate and started to clorox the stands that hold the water tanks…Got 2 of them done and the cats approved ! now up here breakfast then back out to some minor lawn clean-up and re-pot some butternut squahes…I have lots of leftovers so by lunch I can sit and enjoy a pleasant lunch and my book….
gloria patterson
WOW I got tired just reading all you were doing……………..
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele you are sure back to your BUSY self. WOW You are an energizer bunny.
Ed
Had a good day. Missions trip meeting in the afternoon and watching some football after.
Shelly Peterson
Today I ran some errands with my daughter.
Tamra Phelps
I don’t know about where everyone else is but here it just keeps getting colder. It’s in the teens for today’s high.
Rosie
We had rain today! We’ve had snow, but quite a bit of rain, the El Nino effect. I stayed in and played around with making soap!
l p
the day is going well. it’s another blisteringly cold day – not many people out and about and that’s a good thing. not a day to play outside. very thankful for friends with cars who provided rides today. brrrr….. thanks
Polly Hall
We got 11 more inches of snow last night we now have 23 inches and expect more.
Connie: The Head Peanut
YIKES!! What is your total so far? We aren’t so bad for this time of the year. We are just over a foot as of the 17th just after 9.
gloria patterson
Right now it is 23!! The sun is out and looks so warm………… but it is NOT melting any of the little bit of snow we got.
Took a nap earlier and the sun was coming in the window and felt so good. I don’t cook much but I can. On the stove some water, chicken broth (thank goodness for the freezer) couple of chicken breast. Cooked, shreded and back in the pot added frozen flat dumplings. Another 30 minutes and it will be ready.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds delicious. I haven’t even thought of dinner yet.
Elizabeth
Remember the Simpsons episode where Bart spends the day redeeming birthday coupons all over Springfield? That’s my plan!
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds like a WONDERFUL day.
heather
My day is going pretty good so far. Just reading my daily devotional hope you have a nice Sunday.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Thank you Heather, I hope your Sunday is awesome!
Michele Soyer
Well today Chicken Paprikash with Noodles. for Sunday lunch….other than cooking my day is my own….Real Estate agent called last night 8 foreign enquires and 4 local – lets see if any pan out in any way….Happy Sunday all….
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW! That’s a lot of enquires. Fingers CROSSED!!
Tamra Phelps
That sounds really good to me. Hopefully somebody really likes it! It might be just what one of them needs.
Kate Sarsfield
Fingers crossed! I can hear Corfu calling out to you from here!
Kate Sarsfield
Freezing fog again, my car won’t start so I’m going back to bed! The sun’s trying it’s best to break through though so I might get back to work on the garden.
Michele Soyer
Kate please take careof yourself – that cold will get in your bones and ache – I want to see you warm, cozy and content.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OMGEEEEEEEEEEEE I vote stay in bed WARM and comfy. Gardening in the freezing fog? Nooooooooooooo
gloria patterson
Kate I agree with the rest ………………………. KEEP YOUR ASS IN THE HOUSE WHERE IS WARMER!!
Ed
Had a very busy day and it’s not over yet as I am picking up some family at the airport early in the morning.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Wooo HOOO family visit? I want to go to California until its above zero here.
Shelly Peterson
I was up earlier than I wanted to be. I spent the day with my daughter and granddaughter.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Still so jealous of daughter/granddaughter time. I miss mine so much.
Tamra Phelps
Last night was way WINDY here. We got a dusting of snow but the wind was howling all n ight. And of course, it’s soooo cold.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Our electricity has been cycling on and off every 30 minutes since yesterday. Not long enough for the generator to come on, long enough that the tv has to cycle through 3 minutes of uploading. UGHHHHHH pain in the tushy. I’m afraid to print out tumbler designs because I’m not sure that the design would be complete. OHHHHHHH LIGHT BULB!! As soon as the power comes back on THEN hit print. LOL HA HA!!! Thank you, Tamra, for allowing my brain staff meeting to think it through. SQUIRREL
tammy ta
My day was pretty boring. No hydro for like 6 hours.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh no! Stay safe Tammy.
Polly Hall
Woke up to about 5 more inches of snow this morning. My husband helped me hobble down our long driveway so I could take some photos of our front woods they are so beautiful in the snow.
Connie: The Head Peanut
There is something so beautiful about new snow. We are supposed to get more snow starting Wednesday. Today I HAVE to go to the rental (it’s empty right now) and check pipes and heat. The snow is over knee high so The Husband is taking the tractor down and giving me a path. I’d much rather stay by the fire. BUT, we had 3 stores in Sandpoint close because of burst pipes. SO fingers crossed we have no damage in the modular.
Polly Hall
Hubby’s with tractors are special, that’s how I was able to get down the driveway too, hope your pipes are ok.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Pipes finally unfroze. NO damage. THANKFULLY. Although the oven still won’t come on. So I need to google a fix.
Elizabeth
Had some emergency cookie baking to do (long story), but it worked out…
Connie: The Head Peanut
LOL Emergency cookies. I love that. I will take some. IF I was a good wife I would bake some emergency cookies for The Husband, he is out with the tractor trying to clear the road.
l p
the day is going well. at the same time, it’s so cold the construction next door has been at a standstill for several days. no pay due to weather delays for construction workers. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
YEA! Quiet for you. That’s a win.
gloria patterson
Slept late did a little house cleaning, a little reading, some playing on the computer. My desk is by the window and ever time I look out it is pouring snow………………… then it stops. Its to cold to really do much snow it is 27 right now.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m thinking we should just cut to summer now. I’m cold. My fingers are freezing. The craftroom is the coldest room in the house and NOT very insulated. My little propane heater is NOT keeping up this week. ACKKK I just went and checked the thermometer it’s 60degrees down here.
Kate Sarsfield
Made a good start cutting down old grass tussocks in the front/side garden. Got rid of 14 out of 161 – yes, I’ve counted them! Managed to uncover part of the overgrown driveway as well. I can now visualise the front garden, the future perennial rockery & the turning space for the car. AND it kept me warm for a couple of hours! Today? I’ve slept & slept and it’s freezing fog out there so staying put.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh from my google search grass tussocks look so pretty. Will you keep any of them?
Kk P
It’s a beautiful day here. I’m going out for a walk with friends and end with hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course).
Connie: The Head Peanut
Now that sounds like an excellent day. It was the marshmallows that convinced me.
Suzie B
Its a RARE day off for me – I am so happy to just relax a little
Connie: The Head Peanut
SWEET!! Enjoy.
heather
I am just getting going this morning had a terrible nights sleep last night. I think I had a headache in my sleep and it gave bad dreams. I was scared I was getting sick when I woke up this morning but seems like I am ok – fingers crossed.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather, I woke up with a headache too. Hoping another cup of coffee kicks it to the curb. Have an EXCELLENT day!
Michele Soyer
I had a fabulous day yesterday and today is back to normal…Laundry then a spinach quiche for lunch… a bit of dusting then back to my book….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent Michele. What book? I need a new series. I am ADDICTED to the In Death Eve Dallas series. J.D.Robb (Nora Roberts) can’t write fast enough for me.
gloria patterson
Gues who is my favorite series and has the new book on pre-order on amazon, due Jan 23rd. There are so many good authors…. really like Lee Child Jack Reacher books even has a series on amazon this is 2nd season. John Sanford police book really good. Do you like spookie books? Action books???? Will post picture on facebook
Connie: The Head Peanut
I LOVE scary, mystery, action, thriller, police all of them. I will go search for John Sanford police books. Did you see Micheles recommendation The Bee Sting? I listened to the sample and it’s my kind of book.
gloria patterson
Will have to had the bee sting to my list. First will check the building library and see if it is there..
You might want to check out James Rollin and Mathew Reilly books
Connie: The Head Peanut
I will add them to my list. Thank you.
Michele Soyer
Just finished the best book I have read in a long time – The Bee Sting. Now onto Distant Sons…..
Connie: The Head Peanut
I will add that to my list right now. Thank you.
Tamra Phelps
I guess the fact that it has stayed slightly above freezing is why we have rain every day–otherwise we would be snowed under, lol. Anyway, it has rained for days.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, it’s SO COLD here! We have been under zero for days. Today it’s MINUS 16 right now. It’s so cold.
Polly Hall
The blizzard is hitting at full force but we are nice and toasty inside with a roaring fire.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Stay warm! It’s minus 16 right now here. Overnight it was in the 30’s and in MINUS 30’s. Soooo cold.
gloria patterson
It has been 9 DAYS since I have been anywhere!!! I didn’t need to shop I just needed out!! I just drove down different streets, hopped on the interstate for a few miles. Drove around all the cars at the mall. Stopped at McD got a burger and FF…………………… came home 🙂
That took care of my cabin fever!! LOL
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. Sometimes you just need OUT! I’m seriously afraid to even attempt our road for a while. These below zero temperatures and the snow, ice and step drive? Ummmm no. I will just hang out in my craft room. I will venture out to feed the deer. MAYBE.
l p
the day is going well. the weather is not conducive to outside activities so there are lots of indoor chores getting attention. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m so cold I don’t even want to do inside chores. I really just want to curl up on the couch and sleep.
l p
that sounds like a great idea, Connie. thanks
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to the weekend.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Hopefully, it’s a relaxing, lazy weekend.
Elizabeth
Still cold, but the roads are bare, so I’m trying again on the bus…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Have a safe trip.
Shelly Peterson
It’s freezing here at 0 degrees. My furnace isnt working right so it’s cold inside too.
Kk Par
It’s really cold outside. When I got up, I couldn’t decide if it was ice fog or snowing. Right now it’s the former. Another stay-in day here. The kids are loving it.
Michele Soyer
Just realized that I live only 12 km from the sea and have not gone once – not once – since my husband passed away – almost 7 years now….when we lived in the city many moons ago when we young went out to Long Island any chance we got alone or with the children – then the move to NJ forget it the Jersey beaches amazing went all the time…When we re-located to see about mum I went almost evey day when the wetaher permitted… why am i sitting here when i could be on the beach???? In Corfu I am l looking at houses within distance of the sea… So as soon as breakfast is done I am packing up and going to spend the day on the beach – no high seas alert so off to sea bathe!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, that sounds like an AMAZING day!! Enjoy!! I’ll be here thinking about the beach in my MINUS 12-degree weather. YIKES
gloria patterson
I hope your day at the beach was the begining of lots of new memorie!!
heather
Just getting started this morning just now 5am. The more I see the Tapatio tumbler the more I like it. lol
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh my gosh, this Tapatio tumbler is so funny. I’ve now sold 3. WHAT?! So funny to me. My day started at 4am because my younger sister has no concept of time zones when she starts texting like a mad woman.
Kate Sarsfield
Bryn update: All is well! He slept for a couple of hours, peed & pood (is that a word?) and no blood or discomfort, then ate & played chase with Loki. Rolled over for belly rubs & was back to normal by bedtime, curled up with me & Loki. This morning, it’s like nothing happened. PHEW!
Still below zero here but dry so heading into the garden soon.
Michele Soyer
So glad that Bryn is alright…So cold Kate even though it is dry – dress warm..
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m so GLAD that Bryn is okay. YOU are NUTS I am NOT gardening in below zero. I went outside to feed my deer and that was more than enough for me! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
gloria patterson
WHAT are doing in the garden????? The ground has to be froze.
Kari
It’s a good day here. I had a surprise visit from a former neighbor. And was actually in when the courier brought a parcel. Score one for here and none for the porch pirates.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Sounds like a great day all the way around. Score one for you!
Polly Hall
Went out to lunch with my cousin and sister in-law. I cannot drive because of the broken leg so in our group texts I asked my cousin if she could pick me up because she live 5 miles away from me, she said yes. I received a text from her telling me that she was here and wondered if I needed help getting to her car. I looked out the window and there was no car in the driveway. I texted her back say that she was not at my house and asking where she was. She texted a few numbers so I gave her my address. Come to find out she had driven to my sister in-laws house 15 miles away, thinking that it was her that had asked for the ride. We will not let her live that one done way to funny.
Connie: The Head Peanut
ROFLMAO!!! Polly, this is absolutely something that I would do. LOL
l p
the day is going well. very cold with miserable winds. grateful to have a place to live, warm clothes, and food. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
So true! I feel so bad for homeless in this weather. This minus stuff is NASTY.
gloria patterson
Got up at 7 and by 9 I was having a nap!! Don’t know why I don’t have any energy!!! Really not in the mood to do anything!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria, I think it’s just the weather. I don’t want to craft. I just don’t want to do anything. Just blahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Shelly Peterson
I slept in and then ran some errands,
Connie: The Head Peanut
I had planned to sleep in……. my sister has ABSOLUTELY no concept of time difference from Texas to Idaho so she started texting at 4. UGH!!She’s lucky it’s too far to drive to punch her in the arm.
Ed
Having a good day. We got a heavy dumping of snow today.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Us too! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Kate Sarsfield
Today’s episode of Bryn: The three of us were out for a short walk, car driven by an old lady was coming so I picked him up but he jumped out of my arms and under the car. He rolled & rolled and went tearing off towards home, He’s very scared & mucky but no physical damage that I can see. I have an emergency no. if he gets bad during the night so fingers crossed. Honestly, thought I’d lost him.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH MY GOSH KATE!!!! I hope that Bryn is okay.
gloria patterson
Hopeful just lost one of his lives and learned one big ass lesson!!! fingers crossed
Tamra Phelps
Wow, he is using up a few of his lives very early!
Elizabeth
Will try braving the elements today, oh boy..,
Connie: The Head Peanut
YIKES. Be safe. I am thrilled that I don’t have to go anywhere!
heather
I am listening to the morning news at the moment. Getting ready to feed my spoiled cat she has to have her morning food warmed up in the microwave for 12-13 seconds.
Connie: The Head Peanut
LOL Bear our Bernese Mountain Spoiled fur baby also needs her food warmed up. Ohhhh what we do for our babies.
Michele Soyer
Today Connie I am with you – took a look at the pantry and the freezer and jeez so much to re-organize and de-clutter…As for the freezer all the 1/2 bags of frozen veggies will be used in a quiche of some sort and the rest in a mix up casserole.. As for the pantry bothing to get rid of but 1/2 bags of dry pasta have to be cooked..
The bar also had to be figured out – all the liquors I used for special cocktails well going to figure out something there also…after that once over dust and my chair, the cats and my book!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, my cupboard looks AMAZING!!! I’m so happy. It feels so good to have that done. Today I’m back in the craftroom making tumblers and watching it snow (a LOT!) today’s forcast? MINUS 41!?!? WHAT?!?!
tammy ta
My day was not too bad. Pretty easy going for the most part.
Tamra Phelps
I feel like I did nothing today. I mean, I napped and napped and napped again, then I got up and promptly fell asleep sitting up!!
Polly Hall
we got about 4 more inches of snow last night I feel bad that my husband has to do all of the shoveling because of my broken leg.
gloria patterson
My niece came to cut/style hair in my apartment building today. She comes for about 4 hrs. Have been letting my hair grow out…………… decided cut it off!!
As she was getting ready to pack it up her mother called and said she and dad were up in grandma’s apartment. So up there we go………….. we talked and talked
Got back to my apartment at 3 ……….. then had a nap LOL
Ed
Having a good day. Did some volunteering this morning.
Kate Sarsfield
Just got back from the welfare centre. 2 young cats died suddenly overnight. They were feral siblings so the bodies were sent to the nearest animal hospital for pathology tests etc. in case it’s something genetic that we have to be aware of to help the rest of the wild colony.
Oh yes, little Bryn, with the damaged eye, caught a mouse yesterday! I’d noticed a couple of droppings in a drawer where I keep the dried catfood & had put traps in the drawer but no need. I heard a scuffle & low growling. Lo and behold, he’d got the mouse. Then a bit of a battle to get both cat & mouse out of the house! Came back in looking very proud of himself!
gloria patterson
CONGRATS……………………… you have a mouser!!!!
Tamra Phelps
Lol, at least he’s discovered a good talent. He’s a keeper!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOOO HOOOO Extra treat for Bryn
Elizabeth
Still freezing–I don’t remember coastal California ever being this cold!
Shelly Peterson
I was woken up early from the dog downstairs and couldnt get back to sleep. So I am tired.
heather
My day is going pretty good still dark out but I can hear the rain/snow hammering outside. I am cozy inside drinking my tea and reading the daily news.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Yesterday we got 11″ of snow. I’m very content to stay inside, warm and dry.
Elizabeth
Freezer guy’s supposed to be coming soon. Getting ready for a weekend trip, though I’m anxious about the rain forecast…
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW your freezer was out for a while wasn’t it? YIKES. Rain is in our forecast too, with this big layer of snow we should be able to ice skate all the way to town. YIKES!
Elizabeth
Yup, been surviving with one of those little chest freezers…it holds more than I expected, but going to the garage every time I want something is a pain (especially lately, whoo)!
Michele Soyer
Finished all my outside work yesterday – did my list then decided to do everything so I cut and trimmed bushes and hedges then took all the vines off the fences…chlorined the driveway tracks and cut the lemon tree down to size – the rest will have to wait until lateron in the week…This type of work is getting old.. LOL…Today I plan on filling the cooky tin with some fresh shortbread and make a pot of lentil soup…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, I want 1/4 of your energy EVEN just for a half a day. My goal today is to clean out the kitchen pantry closet that is SUCH a HUGE mess! It needs a full reorganization overhaul. ORRRRR you could come over and I’ll provide the comedic commentary??
tammy ta
My day went better then expected at work.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s excellent.
Shelly Peterson
Today I slept in and then did some cleaning.
Connie: The Head Peanut
No sleeping in today over here. The Husband had a video Neurologist appointment at 7. Toooo early! Now, I really have to have more coffee and get to cleaning.
gloria patterson
That video stuff is GREAT. I did one last week sitting in a parking lot. Hope all is well

Connie: The Head Peanut
So cold here too! With wind chill Sandpoint Idaho is expecting MINUS 25?!?! MINUS?? 25?? In the same sentence? ACKKKKKKKKK
Tamra Phelps
Rain, rain, rain. That has been the story here for several days. Well, it beats snow, which is what it would be doing if the temp dropped juat a few degress.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh my gosh, I think I wondered out loud a little too much about no snow and weird winter. 11″ of snow yesterday and tomorrow with wind chill they are predicting MINUS 25?!?! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa??? -25?? ON the upside I plan to go outside and blow some bubbles to see if they freeze because ummmmmmm why not??
gloria patterson

Connie: The Head Peanut
I did. So far all I have are frozen fingers.
gloria patterson
All the schools in the state started out with a 2 hr school delay. By 8 am ALL schools were closed due to weather in the higher elevations. It has been raining heavy all day longer and I am in the lower elevations. Our temp is 46 right now. Temps to go down to the mid 30’s and it is supposed to start snowing around 6 am. Have not heard what the higher elevations are getting. I am betting on NO school tomorrow
Have not done much at all today. BUT so far no nap!!!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Weird winter all the way around. Stay warm, stay home. Naps GOOD!! I’m planning on one today.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to working the Jets game tonight.
Polly Hall
We got 4 inch of snow over last night and today, it makes the front woods look so beautiful.
Kate Sarsfield
Aw Gawd, the cold is biting. Been wearing a facemask to keep my face warm, a woolly hat & 2 pairs of fingerless gloves, and that’s in bed! Luckily it’s dry & sunny so the roads are clearing. Anyway, off to the rescue centre tomorrow. I’ll leave early & go by main roads, rather than over the mountain.
gloria patterson
Stay warm and safe
Elizabeth
Waiting for a repairman…they say they’ll give a three-hour window, but I’m still waiting for that.
heather
My day is going pretty good just reading emails and listening to the morning news. We are expecting major snow here soon.
Michele Soyer
When I said I was going to play all day yesterday apparently I meant it…Been dying to see Maestro and Oppenheimer so that is exactly what I did….Sat on the couch and spent my whole late morning and afternoon enjoying those 2 films… today I have to go outside clean and sanitize the aviary, chlorine the walkways so they sparkle white and then vacuum and dust the downstairs apartment….
Denise C
Today was my first day back in the office after we all had work-from-home priviledges for weeks for the holidays. I really miss work-from-home. How did I ever work in an office for five days in a row before Covid?
Ed
Had a good day. Winter temps have finally arrived.

Elizabeth
Hoping it finally warmed up enough for me to run errands…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. I’m hoping The Husband gets my road cleared so I can get to town for 3 quick errands. Fingers crossed.
Kate Sarsfield
Woke up to find everything frozen solid outside. Took me a while of heating my key to open the car door but it started 1st time, thankfully. Let it run & then covered the engine with an insulation blanket. I gathered fallen twigs & small branches for kindling & chopped larger branches for firewood; all now drying in the shed. My underwear was frozen stiff on the washing line! We’re in for a week of this freezing weather & below zero temps. Talk of postponing re-opening of schools after the Christmas break because of the icy roads. Brrr!
gloria patterson
Stay warm and safe!!!
Tamra Phelps
Oh my goodnes, stay warm, Kate. Don’t wear the frozen underwear, lol.
Michele Soyer
Please stay warm Kate.

My husband & I drove out to the lake house to look for some paperwork that was needed. Did not find what we needed but it was a nice drive.
Connie: The Head Peanut
A nice drive is always good. I hope this means you are feeling better?
Shelly Peterson
I went to Costco this morning. Later I amgoing to dinner with my niece and sister.
Connie: The Head Peanut
SWEET!! Have fun at dinner. I imagine if my sister and I could get together we would be SO LOUD!! Do you get together enough that it’s not the case? My sis lives in Texas and I’m not sure when I’ll see her next.
gloria patterson
I was alowed to shower today…was so good …………….. BUT with this big thick plastic glove on my hand.
Must have wore me out after getting dressed decided I needed a nap 2 hrs later.
So have done about nothing today………….. I did water my flowers
Connie: The Head Peanut
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Gloria!}}}}}}}}}}}}} big hugs. That shower must have felt so good, probably not as good as the nap though. Ohhhhh and my plants thank you for the reminder that they are thirsty.
Kate Sarsfield
Connie, I haven’t had a bath or shower since the 15th of May 2023!
Connie: The Head Peanut

I am waking up and warming up. We are supposed to get snow all weekend and we sure need it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather we are under a winter advisory here in Sandpoint. It sure is coming down hard. I can’t believe it’s the 6th of January and we are getting our first real snow. Weird weather all the way around.
Tamra Phelps
I haven’t seen Michele say anything recently. I hope she’s doing okay. Not much happening here. Same old same old,
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, you’re right. I will see if I can find her email and tell her she is missed. Here in Sandpoint, we are under a winter advisory. It sure is coming down hard. I can’t believe it’s the 6th of January and we are getting our first real snow.
Kate Sarsfield
She’s always a couple of days late to join in when the month changes.
Jessica Beard

Connie: The Head Peanut

gloria patterson

Connie: The Head Peanut
You know I’m a huge fan of naps! I think that might be on my agenda today. It’s COLD here and SNOWING like crazy hard.
KaLei
My day is going really well. The sun is out, there isn’t much of a wind, we got some rain overnight (really needed it). I’m staying on track with my erands today. And there’s time for a rest and cup of tea.
Connie: The Head Peanut
We woke up to over an inch of snow and it’s supposed to continue until Monday night. I might just be staying home until MAY!
Polly Hall
feeling well enough to get some cleaning done in the house, being sick for 3 weeks it really needs some cleaning but it was hard on my broken leg it aches now.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Polly don’t overdo. Are you still testing postive? I’m so sorry.
Elizabeth

Kate Sarsfield
Still trying to sort my printer out … this could take forever … It’s turned really cold & damp but still a bit of sunshine and signs of Spring happening out there.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I think Mother Nature finally found Idaho. We are getting hammered with snow. Is it too early to wish for SUMMER?!!? I hope you get your printer issue fixed.
heather
Well, my comment isn’t posting so trying it again. My day is going pretty good just sipping my hot tea and making my grocery list.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m more than happy to send you my shopping list too! (MAN, I am FUNNY!!)
Suzie B
I am struggling after a surprising $900 car repair; im working so much overtime this week to try to get ahead… 2024 isnt looking like it will be my year, thats for sure
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH NO!!! Suzie, I am so sorry. Maybe 2024 is just starting slowly. Hopefully, it will all turn around ASAP.
Shelly Peterson
I slept in today, which was nice and today was a lazy day. I still dont feel the greatest.
Tamra Phelps
The case manager trying to help me find a new wheelchair is supposed to come tomorrow. Hopefully he has some ideas about where to look since the l,ast place gave me the run around for a month before admitting they were out of stock.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Well?? Did it come? Or is this the one that they haven’t made in years?
l p
the day is going well. a nice, sunny day replaced this morning’s dense fog. always helps to see where I’m going. thanks
Polly Hall
Feeling better today, didn’t even have to take a nap, I’m sure I will be sleeping well tonight.

Carpal tunnel surgery done yesterday. I was there at 7am first in line …… got home at 10:30. Had a big wrap on the hand. Also had 4 fingers and a thumb that felt like they were numb swollen sausages. By 8 that evening my thumb and one finger felt good. The other 3 are slowly feeling less numb. YOU don’t know how much you use the hand till you cannot lift anything or push up with the hand.
They gave me 2 bottles of pills. I could not get that child proof cap off!! Had to go to a neighbor to open them and place in zip lock bags. Have been sleeping a lot but figured I should try using the computer. Never hurts to flex and move those fingures.
Kate Sarsfield
Glad it all went well. I remember the struggles of doing up a bra with one arm in plaster! Take things easy x
Kate Sarsfield
It was still daylight at 5pm!!! The sun shone now & again so I managed a short walk with the cats & some outdoor stuff that needed doing. Indoors, got lots of chores done, got a phone call from an old friend from the choir. Just one of those busy, busy days of lots of little things happening.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s awesome. It’s cloudy and icky here. Light dusting of snow followed by rain. UGH!!! AND it’s 1pm and starting to get dark?? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA??
heather
I am mapping out my day at the moment Costco is on the list so I better get prepared. Hope you have a great day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Costco is not my favorite place to go. I always cry at the check-out. I need to just walk away and let The Husband see the total. LOL
Penny Lebaron
So far my day is normal. I am working from home as I do everyday.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Working from home is the best. At least until I get distracted with ohhhh shiney! LOL
Tamra Phelps
There’s not a lot going on today. Doctor’s appointtment tomorrow–just a routine thing.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Routine is good.
Polly Hall
A good day, nothing new happening here.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here. Nothing new. Just cold.
Kate Sarsfield
Just home and I am bushed! Going to curl up with cheese on toast and CHOCOLATE!
Connie: The Head Peanut

l p
the day is going well. it’s snowing a bit – need much more but will take what we can get for now. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Has it been a weird winter for you too? We haven’t gotten hardly any snow. Our ski resort (Schwitzer) is really suffering. Today we had a dusting of snow then rain. UGH. I really dislike that mixture.
Elizabeth
Ran some fool’s errands in Silicon Valley (one worked out, one didn’t), and after a delay am now on a Caltrain to San Francisco!

I’m feeling worn out today! It’s gray and gloomy out today. Got the Christmas decorations down today. Now it’s the normal everyday chores, lol! It’s all good! Life is good!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I had a love hate thing going with my Christmas decorations. I was SO excited that everything went up the day after Halloween. So by December 27th I was SO ready for everything to come down. Now the house is all clean and organized.
Tamra Phelps
Bummer of a day. Got an email from the company the qwheelchair was ordered from: they’re sorry, turns out that chair has been sold out since before we ordered it. It took them a month to tell me??? Wow. And we have called them three times over the month–they couldn’t tell us then? I feel jerked around.
Connie: The Head Peanut
THAT’s NUTS!!!! A MONTH!! That is so rude. I’m so sorry Tamra. So? Now what’s the next move? Can you get a different design?
gloria patterson

Connie: The Head Peanut
AHHHHHHHHHHH Polly! I’m so sorry. Are you still feeling sick? Or just a positive test?
heather
My day is off to a nice start. I am just sipping my hot tea at the moment and reading my emails. Getting ready to cook a big country breakfast here.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather I am ON MY WAY!!! Breakfast is my favorite meal. I actually made breakfast for dinner yesterday. It was delicious!
Kate Sarsfield
Playing catch-up on all the litte jobs I put off from yesterday (and the day before … and the day before that!). Off to the rescue centre again tomorrow so decided to make sure the car would start. It didn’t! On with the charger for a couple of hours. Taa raa!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Kate, it’s a good thing you checked. YIKES.
Tamra Phelps
It’s January. Unbelievable. 2024. I don’t know why I’m always so surprised when this rolls around. It happens every year, but it seems to happen quicker every year.
Connie: The Head Peanut
RIGHT!?!?!? Didn’t 2023 go really fast?? It sure did here.
Suzie B

What I want to know is where you put the printer……………… AND how much stuff did you have to move off that spot. Have you found new homes for all the stuff moved??
Lazy day cold and spitting snow………………… thinking about a nap
Connie: The Head Peanut
Gloria! YOU will be SO AMAZED!!! I cleaned and I sorted and I donated and I trashed so MUCH stuff. I now a table of printers, my tumbler press, my convection oven all on the storage cabinet that now only holds my printing supplies, sublimation supplies and that’s all! (IMPRESSIVE right???) This place is SO organized I’m in AWE!! No more toys and pretty knick knacks now it’s all work stations. Are you impressed? I’m in AWE! LOL
Elizabeth
Debating whether or not to watch the Winter Classic, since as a Sharks fan I can’t stand either team…
Maureen
I need some more sleep so perhaps a nap is in the offering this afternoon.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m always up for a nap.
Polly Hall
Happy New Year to everyone. I’m feeling better today but I took another Covid test today after 2 weeks and I am still positive, very disappointing.
Kate Sarsfield
Happy New Year! Having a lazy day today (Baby It’s Cold Outside). Just watched the wonderful Kim Novak in Book, Bell and Candle. Great cast!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy New Year! It going to be a nice lazy day here too! Old movies are always a favorite here.
gloria patterson
Kim Novak in Book, Bell and Candle I would hate to think how many times I have watched that movie. I am a big fan a Gary Grant movies. It is 32 right now and light snow coming down.
Kate enjoy your left overs, and your babies ………….. stay warm Happy New Year
Connie: The Head Peanut
Cary Grant all time favorite actor. They do not make ’em that that anymore. And Katherine Hepburn. LOVE her.
heather
