Swerve is SWEET!!

Today Alice and I made Pumpkin Bread. YUM!!!  I love cookin’ with this kid!! Things I’ve learned the hard way, have everything measured out ahead of time! This kid’s got no patience!!

I decided to try the new sweetener called Swerve. I choose Swerve because first, it’s great tasting. It’s a natural sweetener that measures cup-for-cup just like sugar!  Swerve is made from a unique combination of ingredients derived from fruits and vegetables, Swerve contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors.  I think you will love it too! This will be especially good for those holiday guests that are diabetic.

Pumpkin Bread

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix together:

1 ¼ c flour
1 t baking soda
1 ½ c SWERVE
1 t cinnamon
½ t salt
½ t nutmeg
¼ t cloves
¼ t allspice

1 cup raisins

1 15 ounce can of pumpkin
2 eggs
½ c oil

Sift together all the dry ingredients, add the wet and mix well.  This mix really mixes up quickly.

Bake for 50 minutes.

This is so delicious!!!

Using the Swerve sweetener,  no one that I served this pumpkin bread too, tasted a difference.  I’m impressed!!

As a replacement for sugar, Swerve is zero-calorie, non-glycemic and safe for those living with diabetes.  Human tests have shown Swerve does not affect blood glucose or insulin levelsAnd with the ability to brown and caramelize, Swerve is gonna be right at home in your kitchen. There are no conversion charts needed when baking and cooking with Swerve.  If your recipe calls for half a cup of sugar… you simply replace it with a half a cup of Swerve!

I truly love that Swerve has no bitter aftertaste!!! And unlike other sugar alcohols such as xylitol, sorbitol and maltitol there is no digestive intolerance (no laxative effect).

I have a relative who is diabetic, and I’m going to tell her about Swerve – this sounds wonderful. I’ve been using Truvia myself, and I would like to try Swerve.

Yes, measuring before your granddaughter starts helping would be a good thing. Haven’t tried this – don’t bake much at all.

I never heard of it before but definitely sounds wonderful. My husband is diabetic and this would be a warm welcome in our home. Thanks for sharing.
