Y’all know my favorite area in California is Yosemite. I love when we go camping. I always come away with hundreds of photographs. One of our favorite spots in Yosemite is at Mirror Lake. The water is so still and so clear that it truly mirrors the splendor that is Yosemite. I was giddy when I found a Getty Image from Photos.com of the rock that we consider OUR SPOT at Mirror Lake. The name Photos.com by Getty Images does not do this site justice. This site is amazing! From posters to canvas and acrylic to aluminum. You can even have stunning images printed on Birchwood!! I was giddy to be offered a chance to review a Getty Image on canvas. I spent days pouring over images. Photos.com makes it easy to search. I was able to sort by size, orientation. I could sort by subject, by photographer, by artist. I could sort by city and by style too. The art. Wow, where to begin!! I started with just a general look around. Check Out My ODE to Ansel Adams! GIVEAWAY!!
You probably need a half a second on Peanut Butter and Whine to realize that I love taking photographs!! My camera is in my hand at MINIMUM once a day. Granted, most of the time I’m taking photo’s of the Grandbabies. Occasionally, I do take photo’s of other things, for instance, our last camping trip to Yosemite, my son Zac gave me a gift card for a 4 hour photography class from the Ansel Adams studio. HOLY MOLY!! Not only did I learn a ton of stuff about Ansel Adams. For instance, did you know that, since Ansel couldn’t pay employees a lot of money, he gifted them with original SIGNED photographs along with the negatives!! Can you imagine?! What a treasure those prints and negatives are! I also learned how to ‘see’ nature through the camera lens, what Ansel looked for in his shots. I learned how Ansel framed his shots. I stood where Ansel STOOD and I took photo’s just like Ansel Adams did in the 1950’s. I used the black and white setting, of course, I mean really? 3 Things That Every Kid Should Do During The Summer!!
There are 3 things that every kid should do during the summer. One: One has to be play in the water! It can be the beach, backyard or even on the patio and a big pan of water. 3 year old Alice loves the water! Alice takes a longer bath than anyone I’ve ever met!! She would live in the pool if she could! She is blessed to live less than a mile from the beach, if she had her way she’d be on the beach in a tent 24/7! Two: The second thing I think every kid should do is sleep outside under the stars! I love, LOVE, LOVE our yearly trip to Yosemite. Camping and sleeping outside is one of my the greatest joys!! Yosemite should be on everyone’s bucket list! We hike, we watch the sunrise and sunsets. Alice gets filthy! Well, actually all of us get filthy!
