The Fast Metabolism Diet book

I’ve been reading The Fast Metabolism Diet by Haylie Pomroy. I was thrilled to be able to review this great book. I admit it, I need HELP!! My metabolism is so slow I think it stopped and turned around and left!!
The diet is not meant to be a rest of your life diet. But, Haylie encourages you to come back and use the diet for a week or so, to make sure you keep your metabolism revving up!

The program itself is a 28 day plan. It is divided into different phases, each with a purpose.
Phase 1 – Unwind Stress. High glycemic, moderate protein, low fat phase.
Phase 2 – Unlock Fat Stores. High protein, high vegetable, low carb, low fat phase.
Phase 3 – Hormones, Heart & Heat. High healthy fat, moderate carb, moderate protein, low glycemic fruit.
Each phase has a list of foods to select from with recommended exercise type.

This is a diet that takes a little time to start, at least for me. You have to give up wheat, corn, dairy, soy, refined sugar, caffeine, alcohol, fruit juice and artificial sweeteners. Coffee?? Really?!?!
Ahhhh but if you have a real problem giving up coffee Haylie suggests, at least eat first because coffee on an empty stomach is a metabolism killer because it pulls sugar from your muscles to balance hormones.

Haylie’s suggestions throughout the book are awesome, they will help you customize the plan you can follow.  There is a lot of pre-planning.  I like the Metabolism 9-1-1 help section, in case you don’t have time, for instance, to make breakfast.

Over 50 recipes are in the book. Including vegetarian, organic and gluten-free options. Boost your metabolism with the fat-burning power of food!

This is a great book. Packed with tons of information.

Disclosure I received complimentary products for the purpose of my review. No other compensation was provided. The opinions are mine and 100% honest. I have not been influenced in any way.

I think that you’re completely right! In weight loss there are so many ways to fail losing weight! My method was an anti-diet program, eat stop eat; I’m verry happy with it!

I have a friend on this diet and he says it terribly hard. He’s get on and losses weight, then gets off and gains weight. The book sounds awesome and I’d like to get it. But I don’t I could do the diet. I’m a sugar and coffee addict!

I know I need a metabolism revving up, so much so I feel broken bc I eat super low carb, super healthy, no processed foods, measured portions and exercise and am in ketosis and should be melting like icecream in the sun, but I’ve only lost 40 lbs SLOWLLLLY like its frustrating to tears especially when I still have a ways to go to reach my goal. Unfortunately I KNOW this book won’t work for me bc of the carbs and fruit in it, I gain 1 or more lbs literally overnight from such foods. Sighhh. In a month I will have better health insurance and I am going to get checked at dr to see if I am broken like it feels like I am. I just hope she can fix me if I am.

Ok this sounds great. The book not the diet! My metabolism is slow I think it stopped. All my life I a tiny little thing, who weighted 100 pounds soaking wet. Then I hit 40 and my period stopped and all this weight just started piling up. It was insane. Every doctor I see would act like I was lying, like I’d been big my whole life. One even told me to eating so much. I was furious!!! I Never over eat never have. I eat like a bird!!!!! Anyway enough already, Evelyn. But maybe This book would help. But give up Coffee, ohhh nooo.

I thought this would be a great thing to do…rev up my metabolism. but I don’t know if I have the strength to do without all of those foods. Seriously, I have very little will power. Pre-planning for a diet? Not so sure. But if it is only for 28 days and is really meant to as a boost…maybe!
