So, what is the Verilux 10K Natural Spectrum Energy Lamp and how does it work?
The Verilux Lamp uses light therapy as a way to treat those winter blues by exposure to artificial light. Depression and well, over all sadness usually occurs during a certain time each year, usually in the fall or winter. Or, if you are like me and have to live in a dark house. When I get to my daughters house in the mornings to babysit Alice, she is usually still asleep. It’s the perfect time to use my Verilux Happy Light lamp. I turn it on and answer emails, work on my blog, enter a few giveaways. By the time Alice wakes up, I’m in a better mood and definitely more productive. I can tell a huge difference in the amount of activities that Alice and I do during the day. I have more pep, energy and I’m HAPPIER the days I use my Happy Lamp!! Just by sitting in front of a lamp!! WHO knew?!?!?
The Verilux Lamp is really super easy to use, because you don’t have to do ANYTHING!! Simply sit or work near your Verilux Light. I turn it on while I’m working on my computer and approximately 6″ from my face. The Verilux’s bright light mimics natural outdoor light.
According to the manual you should preform a pretest to determine if you have a sensitivity to light treatment. None for me! YEAH!!! One more word of caution; because the light contains magnets you’ll want to stay further away if you have a pacemaker, implantable defibrillator, insulin pump or other type of electro-mechanical device, or brain shunts that contain magnets. There are also certain drugs that may cause you to have light sensitivity.
How to use:
SUPER EASY!!! The Happy Light needs to sit on a flat surface above, at or below eye level. It needs to be anywhere from 6″ – 24″ of your face. It might be necessary to use the light’s tilt feature to receive the desired result. The HappyLight can be hung on a wall too. Don’t look directly into the light. Your eyes must be open to achieve full benefit; in other words, no you can’t take a nap or do this at night. Tinted glasses will reduce the light’s effectiveness, so clear or no glasses!!
A broad field of up to 10,000 LUX* of light provides a more flexible program, allowing you to be farther from the lamp and to move around more freely during use.
If you ever experience edginess or are over-stimulated, move the light farther away or reduce session times. As I said, I use mine in the mornings. Usually for about an hour. Using the Happy Light really does make a difference in
my mood and productivity!!!!

I am flabbergasted right now…..I would love to have the cleanwave sanitizing wand! I had no idea they had such a thing! I cannot believe I have never heard of this before. I would LOVE to have this!!!!! My daughter could use on too. She has a 2 year old, so you know she has LOTS of germs.

I’ve been familiar with (and a fan of )VERILUX for quite a few years now ~ and if any money to spare (“splurge” with) I would probably buy at least a dozen of their fine products!
Both my husband and I are of (half each) Swedish descent and have long suffered from S.A.D. and if this Winter is anything like last year’s, it’s going to be a real test of our endurance!. My Honey/Hubby has an especially hard time with it ~ it actually changes his “personality” every year and puts a strain on both of us.
We would LOVE to have any and all of the VERILUX Happy Lights (especially the 5000) ~ I have heard and read such wonderful reviews and comments about what an huge difference they can make!
I am also very interested in the Rise & Shine Natural Wake-up Light: in recent years I’ve had a difficult time waking up (getting up) in the morning ~ especially when it’s dark. The Full Spectrum Light also appeals to me – for my tired eyes and general weariness!

I didn’t realize how many types of lights thethey have. I had heard about the Natural Spectrum lamp, but they also have a ClearWave line for skin and a CleanWave for sanitizing.
