• Spirit Of Halloween MADE Me Do It!

    Winston

I recently saw a funny saying on Instagram that said something to the effect of “Buy the stuff that makes YOUR estate sale INTERESTING!”  Well, MY estate sale will have people going WTH!??! (I want you to take notice that I cleaned up my WT!!) I want people to point and shake their heads speechless. I ALSO want to be a ghost standing next to them just laughing my a*@ off. THANK YOU, Spirit Of Halloween. So, some of you may know about Mority. It’s been established that I have a few screws loose.  I, at times, may have a slightly odd sense of humor…. so with that in mind back in 2005 Mority entered my life. While I was at work The Husband bought me a surprise because Halloween is my favorite holiday!  I love decorating, I love dressing up, I love the trick or treaters, I love it ALL!!!   I came home to a “Candy Butler”  He stands 3 and a half feet tall.  He can be set to motion activated so his eyes light up and he talks. HE IS AWESOME!!!  I named him Mority.  I had so much fun with Mority that after Halloween I told…

  • The Cure From The Dreaded “I’m BORED!!” Thank You Target!

    Smithsonian Mars Dig

Sometimes doesn’t it feel like summer vacation won’t ever END!??!!?  You will continuly hear the “I’m BORED” whine. Like when will the kids finally go back to SCHOOL!!?!?!  Now, that really is a double-edged sword right there. I remember when my baby Zachary graduated from school and moved into his first apartment. That empty nest hit me HARD. I walked into Target intent on doing my shopping when I saw the Back To School sale had started. OHMYYYYYYYYGOSH!!! I totally broke down. We are talking THE UGLY CRY!! I was a solid mess. IN. THE. MIDDLE. OF. WALMART.  Let’s just say more than a few heads turned that day. I rushed out of the store, sat in my car, and sobbed. So…. do enjoy them while they are little. ALSO, take that first day of school and do something for YOU!!! Enjoy that peace and quiet. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Okay, so this post went on a weird turn there. What I really wanted to write about was some fun ideas to keep the kids happy during these last few days of summer vacation.  Let’s head back to Target shall we?!?  (BTW, I can shop even during the Back To School sales. It…

  • Dead And Breakfast DONE!! Baby DONE!!

Let's make a Dead and Breakfast sign

I finally finished my Lakeside Catalog dupe of their Dead and Breakfast sign. My sign is very large. Much larger than the Lakeside Collections one. To read the story of WHY it’s so big check out this post: Dead and Breakfast My Way After all my colors and fonts were chosen (Thank you, everyone that voted for the colors. It was a huge help!) The color I went with was gold. Unfortunately, I ran out of the gold vinyl before I got to the spiderwebs. UGH!! So, I cut them out in silver. Oh Nooooooooo…. that looked horrible. So then I thought, I can paint over the vinyl.  That was worse. Now, I started messing with it and that’s when I really start ruining my creations. Then I decided to paint over the spiderwebs with gold and black. I wasn’t (aren’t) truly happy but before I end out ruining the entire project I stopped and took pictures and sent to Daughter Selena for approval.  She says leave it alone. It’s done.  Is it done??  All I see are the brush marks in the corners that should be fixed. However, for now………. it’s up on the wall. Done (maybe!)   I…
