Talk To Your Kids About School Safety

The best way to keep your kids safe is to educate them about potential dangers and how to avoid them. Talk to your kids about what they should do if they feel unsafe or see something suspicious. Teach them how to identify danger signs and what to do in an emergency situation. A good way to start the conversation is by asking your child what they have learned at school about staying safe. You can also find helpful information online, such as from the National Crime Prevention Council. Make sure you review these safety tips regularly, especially as your child enters into new grade levels and faces different challenges. Reassure them that you will always be there for them, no matter what. If your child is old enough, you can also consider enrolling them in a self-defense class. This will give them the skills and confidence they need to defend themselves if necessary. There are many other things you can do to keep your kids safe at school. But these tips should get you started on the right track!

Get to Know the School’s Safety Policies

It is important to be familiar with the safety policies of your child’s school. This way, you know what procedures are in place in case of an emergency. Most schools have a comprehensive list of safety policies on their website. If not, you can always call or email the school to request this information. Some of the things you will want to look for include the following:

-The school’s policy on bullying and what they are doing to prevent it

-How the school handles visitors and strangers on campus

-What type of security measures are in place, such as cameras and security guards

-The procedures for dealing with natural disasters, such as fires and earthquakes

-The school’s policy on medication administration

It is also a good idea to familiarize yourself with the school’s emergency contact information. This way, you know who to call if something happens. By familiarizing yourself with the school’s safety policies, you can rest assured that your child is in good hands.

VPN For School Wi-Fi

In today’s technology-driven world, it is important to keep your child’s online activity safe and secure. One way to do this is by using a VPN (virtual private network) when your child is using the school’s Wi-Fi. A VPN encrypts your child’s internet traffic, which makes it difficult for hackers to access their information. It also hides your child’s online activity from their ISP (internet service provider). There are many different VPN providers out there, so make sure you do your research to find one that is reputable and offers a good price. Once you have chosen a VPN provider, setting it up is usually pretty straightforward. Most providers will have detailed instructions on their website. Using a VPN for school WIFI is a great way to keep your child’s online activity safe and secure at school.

Monitor Your Child’s Social Media Activity

In today’s world, social media is a part of everyday life for many kids and teenagers. While social media can be a great way to stay connected with friends, it is important to monitor your child’s activity to make sure they are not being cyberbullied or exposed to other risks. There are many different ways you can monitor your child’s social media activity. One way is to friend or follow them on their account. This way, you can see everything they are posting and who they are interacting with. Another way to monitor your child’s social media activity is to use parental control features offered by most major platforms. For example, Facebook has a feature called “Privacy Checkup” that lets you control who can see your child’s posts and information. You can also use third-party apps and software to monitor your child’s social media activity. These tools usually offer more comprehensive features, such as the ability to track your child’s online activity even when you are not logged into their account. Monitoring your child’s social media activity is a great way to keep them safe online. It also allows you to teach them about responsible social media use.

This is a really good list will have to share with my niece. My great niece is in kindergarten and rides the bus most of the time. The bus people are very careful to make sure the kids go to just the right person. If there is any change in pickup off the bus my niece has to let them know who off the approved list will be there.

When I was in school, no one worried about their kids safety at school–at least not the way we do now. Back then you worried about accidents on the playground, not guns or abuse. The world has defininitely changed
