Bamboo Flooring: A New, Durable Option for Homeowners

Putting in new floors can be an important decision for homeowners who want to make the most out of their renovation. Many are looking to add value to their home. Many more are looking for the kind of appearance that they always dreamed of out of their home. The choice to add new wood flooring is a bad one. The choice on what wood to choose might be even more significant. With that in mind, solid bamboo flooring has recently become more popular among those homeowners who are willing to think outside the box when it comes to their home.

One of the most important bamboo flooring facts is that bamboo is more durable than other kinds of wood. Many Asian cultures have long understood this, which is why they have used bamboo for a range of different purposes. Today, homeowners around the world are wising up to the fact that if they go with bamboo, they can expect their floors to last for decades. People with young children are especially interested in this kind of heightened durability, but it is truly something that can be beneficial no matter what stage in life a person finds himself in.

Homeowners have also found that they won’t have to sacrifice appearance in order to enjoy the durability of bamboo flooring. Today’s floor makers can create bamboo flooring in a number of different colors and textures. Whether you are looking for a light texture to bring out the airy nature of your interior walls or you are looking for something darker to match your basement’s interior, there is a bamboo flooring option available. The wide variety matters, and it is something that continues to draw people to bamboo flooring more and more with every passing year.

Choosing to put in new floors is no small decision. Homeowners today are finally figuring out that they don’t have to go with oak floors or even the cedar floors that are so popular in some parts of the country. Rather, they can go far outside the box, using a type of wood that comes with more variety and more durability, as well. These floors not only look great, but they also add value to homes for those homeowners who are willing to take the dive. As more good floormakers continue to produce strong alternatives, it’s likely that more and more homeowners will get on board with this trend.

    Hi Connie,

I am a flooring expert and have to nod in agreement with your points on bamboo flooring. If you are looking for sustainable, environment friendly flooring option that comes at an affordable pricing, you would find it tough to get equal matches for bamboo in the market.

I however tell my clients that whenever you are opting for bamboos, go for natural and strand woven bamboo which are tough and less likely to scratch as opposed to carbonized bamboos.
