Walter’s Puppy Survival Guide: Pet Camping Mat

Walter’s Puppy Guide to Comfort while camping (or watching your human do yard work): Introducing The Foldable, Waterproof Pet Camping Mat.

Listen up, fellow furball friends. Walter here, your resident 6-month-old puppy correspondent, with another installment of Puppy Survival. It’s been a while since I’ve checked in with you.

I’d like to share a couple of my accomplishments. I’m house-broke. It was either that or my Mom was gonna be in a straitjacket. She was kinda going nuts towards the end, so I took pity. What can I say, I’m a good boy.

I’ve also grown a bit in this time. I’m now 80+ pounds. The vet told my Mom I’ll continue growing for another year. Mom’s eyes kinda bugged out…….. and she made kinda gasping noise…. it was actually a little embarrassing for me. I mean, HELLO! These are MY friends here. Gaaaaaaaaaaa MOM! SO embarrassing.

I got a little sidetracked there. Back to the Camping Mat. Summer means that some of your humans will want to go outside and camp. Camping, it’s this whole thing that humans enjoy. Alice, when she was 4, asked if it was like being homeless. Personally, I think it’s just a trick to get me to sleep on dirt.

But leave it to Mom to find a loophole. Enter my favorite Amazon guy—the legendary Bringer of Cookies—carrying a glorious package: the Howoll Foldable, Waterproof Pet Camping Mat.

Why an 80-Pound Puppy Needs a Pet Camping Mat

Let’s be real. When you’re a majestic mix of Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mountain Dog, you have a lot of fur. A lot of fur means I get hot. It also means I am a walking magnet for bugs, stickers, mud, and whatever else is lurking on the ground.

Mom laid this blue mat out, and it was an instant game-changer for my outdoor survival. Here is why I give it five out of five tail wags:

  • It’s Actually Waterproof: If I track a little lake water onto it, or if the grass is dewy in the morning, the moisture doesn’t soak through. I stay dry, and Mom stays happy.
  • No Bugs, No Stickers: I can lay outside on the deck or right in the middle of the yard without becoming a personal habitat for local insects.
  • Incredibly Portable: It folds right up like a sleeping bag. Mom can toss it in the car, take it to the park, or move it around the yard effortlessly. Even with her bugged-out vet eyes, she can handle carrying this thing.
  • Cool and Comfy: It gives just enough cushion to keep me off the hard ground while keeping me nice and cool. A little word of caution here. The mat will get hot in the sun. So, nudge your humans to a shady spot.

Walter’s Final Verdict

Whether your humans are taking you into the deep woods for some “homeless-style” fun, or just hanging out on the back deck, a good dog camping mat is survival gear 101. It keeps me comfortable, keeps me clean(ish), and ensures I look like the king of the campsite.

Mom’s Final Verdict

The Camping Mat is well-stitched everywhere. Even the buckles, they aren’t going anywhere. Trust me. Walter tried. Walter drags this around the house and sleeps on it. He is truly in love. He likes to try and drag it along when we do a potty walk. I learned the hard way, this camping mat is machine washable, line dried and it’s perfect again. Lesson learned. This is not a quick potty walking mat.

Last Note From Walter

Remember, don’t let your humans make you sleep on the bare dirt! So, nudge your humans towards the Howoll site. While they are shopping, have them take a look at the Overhead Outdoor Reflective Dog Tie Out Cable. Then they know you won’t wander away, and YOU, my furry friend, get a little bit of freedom.
