Mad Scientist From Montessori By Mom Review

OH MY GOODNESS!! Are you ready for this cuteness?!?! Once again, I went a little crazy with the photos! I couldn’t help it! Alice has so much fun with her Mad Scientist set that I couldn’t stop snapping!

The Mad Scientist is just one of the many different educational subscription boxes from Montessori By Mom. This educational subscription box helps parents, caregivers and kids make learning FUN by providing all of the tools and resources that you would find at a Montessori school.

Alice and I were given the Mad Scientist box to review. OH MY GOODNESS! THIS kit is SO MUCH FUN!!!

What I love is that Montessori By Mom doesn’t just send you a box and say “Here, go play” They supply links to videos and information to help you make the most from your box of goodies. The videos are full of information and hints and ideas. PERFECT!!  BONUS!! The videos are short easy to follow lessons. It really helped me understand what lesson I was teaching Alice AND how to get the most from my box.

Each box gives you at least 6 to 8 Montessori-inspired activities. Toolbox AB, the Mad Scientist theme included everything we needed, but the water!! We worked on eye-hand coordination. Pouring, gross motor skills, color matching, and color creating. This kit is something we will be using all year long during our ‘learning time.’

I can get Alice to work on her writing and her sight words just by promising she can be a scientist when we are done. She LOVES THIS KIT!! Included with this kit is a long list of extra resources and extension activities. Meaning we won’t soon outgrow this lesson plan.

Each of the different subscription boxes has videos to explain the activities. Mad Scientist has 4 videos. I love that the videos are short and sweet but provide all the information that I need!! The videos start with more basic activities and increase in difficulty.

BONUS

The dye that Montessori By Mom provides is NON-toxic and WASHABLE!!  No stained hands! No stained clothes. Bonus when I run out of the little dye tabs, I can buy replacements on MBM!!

Inside the Mad Scientist Box is THE CUTEST pair of safety goggles.  The PERFECT child size! Alice feels like a REAL scientist! Check out these pictures!!

Montessori By Mom’s goal is to provide all the materials and instruction as a resource for you to use.

WOW!! This box is jam-packed with learning FUN!!

Also in the kit are 22 color cards.  We have done several activities with these, from finding colors that match the card; both in the house and in nature. We counted. we matched, I even hid the color cards in the house and told Alice “The next card is PINK and it’s hidden under (on top of) a BIG PINK thing”  So many possibilities with these cards.

Let’s Refresh This Really OLD Post, Shall We?

I mean, hello! This giveaway has been over for YEARS! WAY OVER!

Updating my blog’s SEO now ranks right up there with cleaning behind the fridge. Necessary. Honorable. Mildly traumatizing. 7865 posts to go through. The Head Peanut is NOT amused.

What started as a “quick refresh” turned into a full-blown excavation.

I opened a five-year-old (plus) post and found:

  • Half the images missing.
  • Links leading to businesses that now exist only in legend.
  • A font choice clearly made during a caffeine-fueled identity crisis.

Welcome to the glamorous life.

Somewhere in the depths of my site lives The Ghost of PBnWhine Past. It floats through old posts, deleting photos like a Victorian librarian with a vendetta.

“Oh, you needed those step-by-step craft photos?”
Gone.

“That beautifully staged product review?”
Into the abyss.

Now the tutorials read like this:

Step 1: Do the thing
Step 2: [image missing]
Step 3: Just believe in yourself

Extremely helpful. Gold star content.

And the links? Nothing builds character like clicking a reference and landing on:

Error 404: This business has retired to Florida.

Apparently half the brands I worked with have closed, rebranded, or reemerged as something called “Crypto Spoon AI Wellness Collective.” Time is a fever dream.

So here I am, playing archaeologist with Wi-Fi. Replacing images. Fixing links. Adding keywords. Gently whispering to Google, “Notice me. I bring snacks.”

It’s not glamorous, but it makes the blog faster, cleaner, and easier to find. Which means more crafts, more reviews, more giveaways — and fewer digital tumbleweeds.

So if you catch me muttering at my laptop, swatting invisible ghosts with a broom made of metadata, don’t worry.

I’m not spiraling.

I’m optimizing.

Which, in blogger terms, means battling digital poltergeists, resurrecting broken links, and shamelessly courting search engines with fresh content.

Completely normal.
