Sesame King Tahini Review
I have a completely new to me product to tell you about today. Tahini. When the folks over at Sesame King approached me to write a review I immediately said yes. I probably should have looked up Tahini first, but I saw flavors like garlic and Cajun and well, I adore garlic and yum on the Cajun! So I said YES!
After I received my order from Sesame King I had to look up recipes to make and well, basically learn about Sesame Paste!! Here is what I’ve learned.
Tahini is a sesame paste made from hulled and roasted sesame seeds. Our High Quality Tahini paste is made of 100% pure ground sesame seeds. The sesame seeds are sifted, cleaned, roasted and ground to perfection in our premises using new state of the art machinery. Our manufacturing process meets and exceeds all FDA standards. Currently we are the only Tahini manufacturer to pasteurize our product. Our precise Computer Controlled Pasteurization Process (CCPP) ensures a clean and great tasting Tahini paste!
I also learned that Sesame King is the leading brand of 100% pure, ground Tahini pastes, made from the finest sesame seeds. Each Sesame King Tahini is all-natural, with a subtle, delightful aroma, rich with texture and delicious taste.
We mechanically hull our sesame seeds, meaning no chemicals are used during our production process.
Tahini is the staple of Middle Eastern cooking, the tasty foundation of hummus, baba ghannoush, halvah, and dozens of delicious sauces and dressings.
I love hummus!! So I set out to make a batch of hummus from the recipe on Sesame King.
Tahini Hummus
3 cups of chickpeas cooked to tender or canned, drained and rinsed
1 Tbsp. fresh crushed garlic
1 cup Sesame King Tahini Paste
½ cup fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. salt
Puree the chickpeas and garlic in a food blender, add the Tahini, lemon juice, cold water and salt. Puree another minute or two until the mixture becomes very smooth. Add more water (just a few drops at a time) as needed for desired thickness.
Serve with chips, pita bread or fresh veggies! Delicious!! I promise its way better than store-bought and so EASY!!! I had NO idea Hummus was so easy to make.

I love hummus, but tahini is something that I find really off-putting. I will try this brand, maybe it was the brand that I didn’t like. I love hummus and couldn’t figure out why it tasted so nasty when I made it myself. I would love to find one that tastes better!

I’ll have to try this recipe. My husband loves hummus. I’m sure that he would really like this!

I’ve used Tahini before to make hummus so I know what it is. Where have you been that you didn’t know about it?

AND it freezes really well!

I make my own hummus but I’d never thought of adding tahini paste to it. Might give it a try next time!
ps: try stuffing chicken breasts with a really garlicky, lemony hummus – gorgeous & without the fat of garlic butter or cheese!

I love hummus, so I’ll try that recipe with this tahini. It certainly sounds good.

I love tahini, I’m not familiar with this brand yet. I’ve made my own hummus, I’m still searching for a perfect recipe, so I’d like to try this one.
