Five Ways Wooden Shutters Make Your Home More Beautiful and Efficient!!

Over the years, plantation shutters have been increasingly popular. As a mother, I love them simply because I can feel more calm and stress free just by looking at them.

I recently installed wooden plantation shutters after our family came back from a Key West vacation. I just adored the look and how relaxed it made me feel. This can be quite useful after a long day with the kids. Still, they do more than just give you peace of mind. Read on to learn more.

Long-Lasting

Wooden shutters can become a permanent addition within your home. This is especially true when high-quality wood is used. Other window treatments have to be replaced, but wood can last a lifetime–if you care for it.

And, wood is classic–it never goes out of style, plus it can match any decor or color scheme.

Installation is Simple

To install shutters, they can be mounted on a thin frame or mounted just outside of the frame. Me and my spouse chose to install them ourselves. It was my first experience doing so, and it was a lot easier than initially expected.

The blinds are already finished, all you need to do is mount them.

Improves Your Home’s Resale Value

Shutters can be made to your exact specifications. Since they are considered a permanent fixture, they cannot be removed with the sale of your house.

Yet, have you ever been into a home or hotel room with shutters? It is just a sight to see. I can’t stop staring at the shutters in my home.

When friends and family come over, they always stop to compliment them. They are eye-catching pieces, which are considered an upgrade.

As a result, they add value to your home’s sale price. If you ever feel it’s time to move on to something bigger or downsize, shutters help to ensure you get a good and fair sale price for your home.

Blocks the Light

Shutters can help to block out more light than any other window covering. Some days, I just can’t seem to get out of bed–especially after managing the kids all week long. When I feel like sleeping in, there is nothing better than closing my shutters to aid in my rest.

Still, you have total control over how much light you let through. You can let a little in or block it out completely. This also helps during sick days when people need to sleep it off–whether it is day or night.

If you have a bright street lamp just outside your home, your shutters can block out that light too.

Keeps the Home Cool or Warm

Shutters can deflect direct sunlight your home receives. When there is a heat wave on the horizon, this can make a world of difference in your energy bill and the overall comfort level of your home. On the other hand, it can be opened to let the sunlight in during the cooler fall and winter months.

In Conclusion

Wooden shutters can be a beautiful addition to your home for aesthetics and the ability to block or let in the light. Plus, there is the added bonus of helping to increase the resale value of your home.

I’ve always loved shutters, especially the real ones that open & close. (As opposed to the ones you see attached to the outside of houses, around the windows, that are fixed in place.)

I love wooden shutters, they are so pretty. I love how they look when they are open, too. I’d like to consider them someday.

I love them .. they look so pretty and have that tropical feel… The best feature is the fact that can keep a room cool and yet not block out all the light during the heat of the day…
