Time For School!!
I’m one very lucky girl!! I get to spend my days with the CUTEST 2 year old on the planet!! My Granddaughter Alice. This kid is a crack up!! Yesterday I said something that made her laugh, so I said “See? NaNa’s a FUNNY GIRL!!” With a deadpan straight face she turned to me and said “You are??” Ohhhhkayyyy fine!! I THINK I’m a funny girl! Funny NaNa or not, I’m really amazed at how much this kid absorbs everyday!! She has a stack of site words that she KNOWS without hesitation. She can count to twenty. She knows her ABC’s. She knows all of her letters and numbers by sight. She is so SMART!! This NaNa is having a hard time keeping UP!!One of my favorite blogs on the internet is Hands On As We Grow. Jamie Reimer has projects that I do with Alice. Art to education. Jamie is BRILLIANT!! She never seems to run out of ideas!
One thing I really enjoy using with Alice is her site cards. BUT, she is so dang smart that she has outgrown the first set already and I don’t want her to be bored! I want her to be constantly challenged. In case you aren’t familiar with site words, they are basically, flashcards that you memorize. Alice is good at it! REALLY GOOD!! I started looking around for easy endless online flashcards. Seriously, she is a sponge!! I am constantly on line trying to find things keep up with this kid!!
You should see Alice’s Pinterest board! I’m constantly updating that board, every time I come across something that Alice and I can do I added to the page. Alice will be 32 before she finishes all of the projects I have saved!!
So I need your help! Do you have learning specific blogs that you frequent? I am always looking for more sites, more projects and of course, more FUN!!!

She is just darling. Um. Well if you are talking about crafts on of my fave sites is Dollar Store Crafts. Another one is Aunt Peaches. She is super fun. I also love Mich L in LA.

Kids are such learning machines at that age. Everything is new. Isn’t it great to have the time to spend with her.

my son is 4 and is learning how to read now I have found that ABCMouse.com is very, very helpful. It’s helped him with word recognition and sounds. It’s 7.99 a month but well worth it if it is being used.

I don’t have any tips or sites at this time. She is just the cutest thing! It is so much fun being a grandparent isn’t it? I think we realize how fast they grow up after having their parents. So it is being a grandparent that God has given us to learn from them, enjoy them, and teach them. What a wonderful gift you both receive. Enjoy every minute with her my friend! 🙂
