    Today we are having a surprise party for my daughter in law. She is graduating from college. She is a Surgical assistant. I am very proud of her! Glad someone can do that kind of job because I get weak in the knees over a blood nose. LOL!

    Today many things made me happy. I am quite blessed. I was able to spend the day with my husband. We do some canning of pickles, tomatoes, and applesauce. It was fun and it made me happy.

    Today I am happy because my Dad (81) is half-way through radiotherapy for cancer & all is going well so far. It’s a 6 hour round trip five days a week and very tiring for both of us. Still, fingers crossed all will be well.

    I received a coupon for one of my favorite stores – 99cents Only! I always find some great deals, but to have a coupon to use also is great. Today I got cherry tomatoes to try out a new bruschetta recipe, along with some of those little tubs of chicken broth concentrate.

    What made me happy today was chatting with an old friend I haven’t talked too in a long time. Lot of laughs and a lot of tears were shed. It was good! Another thing that makes me happy is your wonderful blog. I am always learning something new from you. And they said you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks!! LOL!

    Today our caterpillars made me happy! Was a tough day…but just watching them moving around and eating my carrot tops in the garden…was so neat!!! I hope we are able to watch them spin their cocoon! Was so beautiful to watch!

    I have been stressing the past few days over something. I just couldn’t let it go. I usually can pray on something and let it go, but this time it was causing me a lot of stress. Today it was resolved. Not just resolved, but the perfect outcome was achieved. It made me very happy.

    The one thing that made me happy today was playing ball with my Corgi named Louie. He makes me happy everyday though. Playing ball is so simple but to him it is the greatest thing in the world so I guess in a way, it’s the greatest thing in the world to me too.

    I got to get a way for a couple days and spent the night in the Sleep Center in Petoskey, Mi. I know it doesn’t sound all that great but I was treated like a queen. I felt like I was in a 5 star Hotel. LOL!

    One of my grandbabies insisted that her Mama, my youngest daughter, call me so she could speak to me. My little Minnie, as I call her, said to me “MeMe It’s ‘portant ! I NEED to tell you that I NEED a cookie from your oven! These in Mamas box dont taste the same!” MELTED me into a pool of Ahhaaa ! How could a grandmother resist a 3 year olds plea for fresh baked cookies? Needless to say I fixed a batch up they are cooling on a rack waiting on MeMe’s little Minnie to drop in. Happy does not cover what that baby made me feel . You younger ladies with children still at home … You think that you could never EVER love another human as much as you do your own child/children. I tell you I thought the same way… Until the first Grand baby came. It is a WHOLE new level of love! IT is a beautiful thing. <3 Yep I am a sap I know it & embrace it. heheheh

    What made me happy today was that I got to spend the day with two of my granddaughters whole momma worked a concession stand. We have the Buckley Old Engine Show the third weekend in August every year. It just so happens to be 1 1/2 miles from me. I can hear the train whistles blowing in my back yard. They start blowing at 6 am and the last one blows at 6 pm. It is a lot of fun. My daughter sells the world famous Gibby Fries! She works for them every year and I get the girls. My husband I take the girls for a ride on the train and a tractor ride. We have passed down our John Deere AO tractor to our son, but we still get to give rides through the large show grounds. Sadly it’s coming to a close and that means the end of summer. It also means we have another 51 weeks to get ready for another one! Yahoo!

    I had a laugh-out-loud moment today: When I got back after taking Dad for his daily radiotherapy session, as a joke (I think, tho’ could be wrong!) Mom had left out (on his side of their bed) a pair of my fishnet stockings & one of her black bras along with one of my riding crops! They’re both 81, almost 60 years married and still rock!

    Today was another gloreous day with my father-in-law. My husband had some farm chores so I hung out with his dad all day. We talked about so many things from genetic medical issues to family drama. It was really nice to spend time with him, alone.

    Not sure what happened to my comment on here the other day but I will tell you again as I am still so excited! I am going to be a grandmother the 9th time. Really excited! Oh I guess I already mentioned that. Not sue if a boy would be ready for all these girls but we will take what ever the Lord blesses us with. I can’t wait to hold that baby in my arms and snuggle up to the sweet smell of a newborn babe. She isn’t very far along (6 weeks) so it is going to be for ever getting here.

        Oh I know! I think some of them need their hearing tested! LOL I know I don’t hear quite so well as I did a week ago. Did I mention that I have a huge walnut tree in our back yard just full of swings for most of the girls. Can you imagine if they were on that poor tree all at once! LOL

    This might sound trivial, but we just ordered Amazon Prime and I’m happy about it! There are a lot of shows on there and now we get shipping for FREE just for being members. As someone who shops at Amazon a lot, I think it will end up paying for itself. (Sorry to sound like an advertisement, I just think it’s a great deal.)

    Today my Dad (81) is almost 1/2 way through his radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer. It’s tough going as it’s 5 days a week for 8 weeks and we live 3 hours away from the hospital. My poor car doesn’t know what’s hit it and for once the sun is shining in Ireland! But hey, ho, onwards & upwards!

    It made me happy that I was able to help a friend who is overseas by paying her property taxes for her. It took a phone call, trip to the bank, trip to the post office to do it but I felt a sense of satisfaction when it was done.

    Every morning, my three cats greet me in the kitchen….Midnight, the old man will greet me first and will actually be the first cat to eat….the other two, baby girl – Oakley and Cottonball – will wait their turn. As Midnight eat, the other two cat will talk it up for a good minute before it’s their turn….I often wonder what the heck they are saying….lol
