Let’s Do The Hair Dance!! As In #MyHairDance

Hair. Gals with curly hair want straight. Girls with straight want curly. Me? I just want some hair!! I have hypothyroidism. Which means that when my T4 levels are not in balance I loose hair like crazy! HOW am I not bald?! I know it’s coming. The drain is full of hair after every shower. This is getting ridiculous!

Just when my frustration was at its highest I was contacted by the wonderful folks at My Hair Dance. This is a whole line of hair care products made for us follicly challenged individuals.

Now y’all know me I’m a logo/packaging junky. I AM the reason that the checkout lines have tons of products. I admit to buying tons of things I may not (phfftttt who are we kidding? DID NOT need) but the packaging was so intriguing, cute, pretty or unique that I had to have it. So Hair Dance…….. great job!!  LOVE the logo! I have visions of long shiny hair just from box!

Inside the box! WOWWWOWOW!! Starting with the basics.  MY Favorite HAIR DUO!! Because it doesn’t do these power products justice to just call them Shampoo and Conditioner.

If you’ve never used a sulfate free shampoo before this will take a little bit to get use to. Additionally if you have a lot of product build up; especially silicone based products you won’t have the suds that you normally see. BUT DO NOT WORRY! Your hair and scalp are still getting clean. What I’ve noticed is that the wetter my hair the more lather I can get. I’ve also noticed that the more I use my Nature’s Treatment Shampoo the more lather I’m getting. This shampoo is loaded with natural ingredients that make my hair SHINE!!! Everything from Aloe Vera to Apple Cider Vinegar. From Peppermint Oil to Avocado Oil and so much more. What it doesn’t have is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Parabens, Dyes or Fragrances. Now that doesn’t mean there isn’t a scent, this smells like fresh Peppermint but no chemical fragrances. One shampoo is all I do and my hair feels clean!!

The Moisture And Strength Conditioner is light weight. Smells so good! Truly adds shine, bounce and doesn’t leave any build up!! Another product jam-packed with great things starting with Green Tea and more natural items like: Walnut seed Oil, Aloe Vera, Silk Protein, Vitamin B5, Lemongrass, Apple Fruit Powder, Chamomile, Sage, Nettle, Rosemary, and Vitamin E.   What it doesn’t have is silicone! YEAH!!

The Instant Conditioning Spray is probably one of my favorite products this summer. I use this before I swim, then after we rinse off at the pool I spray again. My hair feels and looks healthy. Now I have very short hair, but I use it on 6-year-old Alice’s hair after the pool because it’s such a great detangler. It’s such a light weight formula that it doesn’t weigh down my very thin, fine hair.   Green tea, Aloe Vera, and Silk Protein work together to penetrate, strengthen, nourish, and moisturize the hair. Infused with Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen to add a little bit of volume. Vitamin B5 adds shine and protects the hair from breakage. 

The next trio of products are what really has helped my hair loss! Starting with the Rejuvenating Hair Oil. This one isn’t greasy or sticky and smells like almonds. YUM! Since my hair is dry and I’m loosing so much hair whether from breakage or thinning I’m not sure but I use this every 3rd time I shampoo. I use the Deep Conditioning method I get my hair wet; towel dry and then in my hand I add 4 or 5 drops rub my hands together several times and then apply from about a half an inch from my scalp to the ends and then concentrate on the ends. After an hour I take my shower and shampoo and condition with Hair Dance products like normal. You can even leave this on over night if you have really damaged hair. You’ll love the shine!!  Now using this as a hair oil for added shine I want to add a word of caution a LITTLE BIT goes a VERY, VERY LONG WAY!! So rule of thumb you can always add more later…… but unless you want to shampoo and condition….try one (YES, ONE!) drop at a time. I promise you will see shine with a single drop. Use the hair oil on wet or dry hair.

In the last several years hair oils became more popular – especially Argan, or Moroccan Oil. Argan oil is very beneficial to hair.  But many product bare its name while composed mostly of chemicals, with only a small percentage of natural oil added. One of most common type of chemicals are silicones (dimethicone is the most popular one). They work by coating the hair to make it feel soft, silky and smooth. The hair is only looking healthy and is easy to brush (the coating protects hair from breakage during brushing). But the coating prevents the nourishing oils and other beneficial ingredients from penetrating the shaft and improving the hair’s health.  Many hair products marked as deep conditioner, repair mask, serum, etc. contain identical coating agents.  

Next up is the Silky Touch Dry Shampoo.  This one is in my purse because it adds volume to my hair. One trick I’ve used for BIG volume? Apply this dry shampoo before bed. WOOO HOOO! I have some soft, clean hair with some BOUNCE! This is another product that a little bit goes a long way. Use your finger or comb to section off hair apply a small, SMALL amount of the powder continue in about 5 to 10 sections of hair. If you have thin hair like I do use 4 or 5 sections only. Do a finger massage all over your scalp. Shake your head upside down or brush through your hair to remove any excess.  Organic Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Organic Colloidal Oatmeal, Silica, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil Organic Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf. Where was this stuff our last camping trip where by the end of the week I looked like Nick Nolte’s mug shot?!

Made with all natural ingredients like Green Tea, Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Apple Cider Vinegar, L-Arginine, Caffeine, Menthol,  Sage and Nettle Extracts, and Essential Oils from Thyme, Rosemary, Cedarwood Bark, and Lavender.

This has excellent antioxidant protection for the hair, scalp and follicles. Anti-inflammatory. 

Inflammation is an extremely common by-product of thinning hair, and can literally double the speed at which you lose hair!!!

WHEW!! That’s a lot of information. Bottom line?? My hair is shiny. The drain doesn’t look like I shaved the cat, the dog and The Husband. I will keep you updated with my hair (raising?) story!

Just know the products are great. The cost is amazing because you don’t use a lot of anything! The scents are great. The ingredients are natural. Everything comes very well wrapped for transit.

WHINES

NONE!! Not a single whine. First and foremost I am steadily seeing less and less hair in the drain!! Second thing I noticed is that even though it’s summer, and we spend a lot of time in the sun, pool and ocean my hair still has shine. HEALTHY shine!!
