My Life Set To Music!

From blasting your favorite tunes on the car radio (me!), to when you secure tickets for Morgan Wallen (or whoever your favorite artist may be), music is an important part of life.

When you are sad, music can help make you happy. For me, when I turn on the 60’s station and sing along, I’m instantly in a better mood. Music can also help you get that good old-fashioned ‘ugly cry’. You know, sometimes you really need a good cleansing cry!  Just in case you don’t know what The Ugly Cry is, well,  it’s a cry so deep, so complete that you will be heaving and making awkward, gasping sounds. When the Ugly Cry is over your face will be RED, blotchy, puffy with two very swollen eyes!! But, you will feel SO MUCH BETTER. Okay, maybe that’s just me.

There are tons of songs that stick out in my life. From growing up in a time where restaurants had the oldies style music jukebox where you could push E4 and listen to Elvis belt out Teddy Bear for just .25¢  Or even You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ by The Righteous Brothers. But, mostly Elvis, ya know…. just sayin’.

Every time I hear Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce I’m back in high school! It was actually our class song. Then there is, You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone the perfect song to welcome my daughter into the world. The Streak by Ray Stevens makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD every time I hear it. LOOK away Ethel!!

Then there are other songs that can bring tears to my eyes like Unchained Melody sung by the Righteous Brothers. What about Rolling In The Deep by Adele? When Elvis belts out I Did It My Way, I really can really cry like a baby!

Then some songs make me dance! I truly can’t sit still when they are playing songs like, Def Leppard’s Pour Some Sugar On Me, or Nelly’s Hot In Herre.  Songs that I secretly love and turn up super loud to sing along too are Tone Loc’s Wild Thing and Sir Mixalot’s I Like Big Butts, I can’t help it! They are catchy tunes!

When they play Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings at a funeral, someone better have a big box of tissues!! Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On whew, that one makes me I want to cry now!

But, my favorite song of all time has to be Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. That song is the GREATEST ever!!  I can hit rewind on Louis 20 times easily! MAN, I love that song!!

All through my life music has been very important. What about you? What song do you hear that transports you to a different time? Is there a song that brings tears to you eyes? Or make you shake your booty?

Let’s Refresh This Really OLD Post, Shall We?

I mean, hello! This giveaway has been over for YEARS! WAY OVER!

Updating my blog’s SEO now ranks right up there with cleaning behind the fridge. Necessary. Honorable. Mildly traumatizing. 7865 posts to go through. The Head Peanut is NOT amused.

What started as a “quick refresh” turned into a full-blown excavation.

I opened a five-year-old (plus) post and found:

  • Half the images missing.
  • Links leading to businesses that now exist only in legend.
  • A font choice clearly made during a caffeine-fueled identity crisis.

Welcome to the glamorous life.

Somewhere in the depths of my site lives The Ghost of PBnWhine Past. It floats through old posts, deleting photos like a Victorian librarian with a vendetta.

“Oh, you needed those step-by-step craft photos?”
Gone.

“That beautifully staged product review?”
Into the abyss.

Now the tutorials read like this:

Step 1: Do the thing
Step 2: [image missing]
Step 3: Just believe in yourself

Extremely helpful. Gold star content.

And the links? Nothing builds character like clicking a reference and landing on:

Error 404: This business has retired to Florida.

Apparently half the brands I worked with have closed, rebranded, or reemerged as something called “Crypto Spoon AI Wellness Collective.” Time is a fever dream.

So here I am, playing archaeologist with Wi-Fi. Replacing images. Fixing links. Adding keywords. Gently whispering to Google, “Notice me. I bring snacks.”

It’s not glamorous, but it makes the blog faster, cleaner, and easier to find. Which means more crafts, more reviews, more giveaways — and fewer digital tumbleweeds.

So if you catch me muttering at my laptop, swatting invisible ghosts with a broom made of metadata, don’t worry.

I’m not spiraling.

I’m optimizing.

Which, in blogger terms, means battling digital poltergeists, resurrecting broken links, and shamelessly courting search engines with fresh content.

Completely normal.

I enjoy Broadway songs that I can sing along to. I sing in a chorus and one of the songs we’re doing is ‘Magic to Do’ from Pippin. I love ‘For Good’ from Wicked.

Music is an incredible and life changing thing and I think it is very important to everyone, everywhere in some way. I love the way a song can transfer you to a different time in your life, and bring back so many memories. I would definitely say that there any many songs that bring me strong emotions, and it’s a wonderful thing.

I learned to love Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World from my father. He would listen to it and I learned to love it too. There is no other song that can compare to the way it makes me feel.

Louis Armstrong is awesome. I love listening to that, Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes, I love all music pretty much. I love the Smashing Pumpkins the most, they are my fave band ever and my fave song by them is “Muzzle”.

I aslo love Jim Croche . All of his stuff moves me BUT in particular a song he did called Hard Way Everytime. Really wraps me up. To dance I love Bob Segar Old time Rock and Roll.

Music has that same strong impact on me and my attitude. If I put on a good album when I am cleaning it can energize me, and if I don’t…well I have time later to clean. On of my favorite songs is “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley. Whenever I am stressed I will sing that song. I went in for surgery one time and the doctor said as I was waking up I was singing that song 🙂

Lol! that just made me laugh. My husband and I went up to see our kids up north. We stayed there while mom and dad had to go off to meeting all day. My youngest granddaughter came up to me and said ” Grandma, I know what your favorite song is! It’s I like big butts and I cannot lie!” I chuckled and said that it isn’t necessarily my favorite but I guess if the shoe fits! LOL!

Wow, you gave me a lot to think about. Hmmmm… I always like Whitney Houston’s, “I Will Always Love You” for a good cry. “Lean on Me” makes me think of my best friend when we were growing up together. For dancing, I’d have to choose some good old-fashioned swing music. Anything Big Band like “In the Mood”. My DH is an awesome swing partner.
