$50 Your Way Giveaway! October 2026

Hello! Welcome to my October $50 Your Way Giveaway!!

Anyone else get whiplash from how fast September sped by?!? Lately, time goes too dang fast! I sure wasn’t that way when I was in high school. You??

September, as usual, I have to check my phone to see what I did for the last 30 days besides zone out on Netflix scary movies! Do you have any scary recommendations??

Alice is in another play, I believe this is number 14. (Alice has absolutely found her niche!). If you are near Encinitas, California. I highly recommend going to The Theatre School North Coast REP.

For some of you who started with me back in 2009, you were here when we celebrated Alice’s birth…. well, HERE is what that tiny baby looks like now!! Of course she is easy to spot. She’s in red. Alice plays Scarlet in Clue

$50 Your way giveaway. North Coast Rep newest play.

Can you believe this is what 15 (YES! FIFTEEN!) looks like?!

North Coast Theatre $50 Your way giveaway.

This is my absolute favorite picture!

Now for the real reason you are here.

When you win, the email will come from Connie @ peanutbutterandwhine com. Iโ€™ve learned the hard way that subject lines like โ€œCongratulations!โ€ vanish straight into spam jail, so expect something more like:
โ€œHEY, itโ€™s Connieโ€ or โ€œGuess WHAT?โ€

Iโ€™d love it if you came back often, hung out a bit, and clicked around. In fact, looking at more than one page really helps me keep this little corner of the internet alive.

Clicking on ads and purchasing through my blog does NOT cost you extra money. Pinky promise. It just helps keep this giveaway rolling month after month like a happy little cash parade.

Iโ€™m A Walmart Affiliate!!

Any purchases you make through my blog send a few shekels my way. AND it doesnโ€™t cost you anything. But it keeps the blog running.

the day is going well. had a couple of appointments earlier. made some brownies for tomorrow’s birthday party. cleaning up the kitchen, yet again. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

A bit of a lazy day today as I have to go out this evening to take the car for it’s annual check-over. Made a gorgeous ‘Indian’ spicy casserole last night so can just heat it up when I get back around 8pm.

  • Michele Soyer

Leaving shortly for a shopping day with my galpal Asian Market, Costco. grocery and wine shoppe – maybe lunch out also! Still trying to get back on X but their algorithm claims I have not followed their strict rules – what a joke people post the most awful racist hateful posts and they are not suspended permanently but I am lol

  • Tamra Phelps

Kate, I sympathize with the aching hands. For me it’s the med I take for the breast cancer. It causes small bone pain, and for me it hits in the hands. It’s like arthritis times 10 when it hits and add that to nerve damage from the sepsis–so yeah pain plus numbness, lol. Very weird.

  • l p

the day is going well. volunteering this morning then a deep clean of the kitchen after yesteday’s baking. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

Finally planted the rest of the daffodils, pulled up weeds and was generally busy in the garden. The first storm of the season hits on Thursday/Friday ๐Ÿ™

  • Michele Soyer

Warm this morning so after a quick vacuum off for a walk around the neighborhood….missing my Jersey friends today so after lunch some calls!

  • l p

the day is going well. lots to do. it’s the usual baking day and things are right on schedule. a young person is coming over later this afternoon to learn how to make carrot cake and cream cheese icing. stay warm if needsbe, keep moving. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

Raynaud’s & arthritis is a weird combination! Half my hand’s completely numb & the rest hurts like hell! Fingerless gloves are on from now till April/May next year. Anyway, enough moaning, another day of gardening lies ahead before the weather changes on Thursday.

  • Michele Soyer

Up and moving early to make up for being blinking lazy this weekend…Finished laundry, vacuuming and went outside ( brrrr) and swept both patios…when i took up the recycles I saw that the carpeting in the hallways looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks ( maybe the woman who cleans here is on vaca or ill – she does an amazing job) so took the shop vac up and did the hallways, now it looks much better.. leftovers for lunch so I do not have to cook – the cats are looking at me to sit so they can cuddle up…one loves to sit by the heat in the drawing room..lol have a great day everyone! and Tamra and you Kate please stay warm!

  • Tamra Phelps

Kate, I agree. I try to put off turning on the heat as long as possible because I don’t need those heating bills! It has been cold at night, but I can add a balanket, no big deal. And during the day, it’s been in the 60s, so no big deal.

  • l p

the day is going well. volunteering this morning and stayed longer to help out. doing some baking for a birthday party later in the week. so far, the evening looks relatively quiet. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

Freezing by night but dry and sunny by day! Trying to put off heating the house for as long as I can, it’s so bloody expensive. Spent the day working in the garden. Definitely bobble hat weather!

  • heather

Just got in the door from a trip to the grocery store. I had to go to two different stores to get everything that I needed and I saw two women in there wearing their pajamas! I am so happy that I manage to get dressed when I get out of bed in the morning. lol

  • Michele Soyer

Very cool sunny Sunday – I should get up and dressed and take an uber to mass but that is what utube is for….have no desire to go out at all…this is a stay in my jammies all day Sunday! Roast in the oven and wine chilling… since it is colder I think a single malt later would be perfect.. always ready to pour 2 more Kate and Tamra!

  • Tamra Phelps

It has definitely gotten cold here. Our first freeze is due to hit tonight. Well, at least the 90 degree temps are finally done, hopefully. I’m not really doing too bad. still recovering from my last bout with my edema/inflammation issues–but doing better.

    • Michele Soyer

We got our first freeze Friday night! It is getting colder by the day but the sun is out and the air is so fresh and clean…Glad you are feeling a bit better…

  • Kate Sarsfield

I had a lovely day today! It’s been one of those freezing cold sunny days that make your nose turn pink. Got a load of laundry done, then a couple of hours working in the garden. Much more to do tomorrow once the frost melts.

  • Michele Soyer

Beautiful sunny day but quite a bit of a chill 30 degrees…feels like a “me” day reading, music and aside from burgers and veggie burgerd for lunch nothing pending to do…I have decided to stop calling the volunteer supervisors… if they want and or need me they can call me…I need a schedule to arrange transport – I truly miss driving…since all my eye surgeries even though I can see it is not enough confidence to get behind the wheel…

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another busy morning: dropped the car to the mechanic (again), had my hair cut & checked out a charity shop while I was waiting. Got a gorgeous Italian Autumn/Winter dress for a couple of Euro! Delighted! It’s long with pockets & not only is comfortable but suits my shape too!

  • Michele Soyer

Have no idea why I am so happy today and grateful of course…danced around the drawing room until I realized I better get going with lunch…some lovely salmon filets….really cool out there the heat actually turned on! winter is coming…later today my friend and I out for drinks and cafe whatever depending on the time…how amazing it is all of it!

  • Denise C

I am retiring at the end of the month. I have 2 weeks left! I have so much I want to get done before I go. I haven’t been this busy in a long time.

  • Kate Sarsfield

In town early for a doctor’s appt. – 2 hours waiting ๐Ÿ™ Not his fault, a patient had to have an ambulance called, but still … I’m an impatient cow at the best of times! My Vit. D is low (despite taking branded Vits. every day, so he’s prescribed a supplement for me, and I got my flu’ & Covid shots. Then off to the Animal Hospital to pick up spot-on wormer for all 4 cats. Found tapeworm segments on my bed the other day – yuck!

  • Michele Soyer

Party preparations underway for next Saturday – I believe there will be a good turnout..
Waiting for my grocery delivery, my usual delivery fella is on vaca so with the new driver I am last – dead list for delivery..lol so instead of a 9 am delivery I am now a 1-1:30 delivery…what can you do?? weather is changing today getting cold and rainy!

  • Tamra Phelps

Rainy day here. and really hot–like 90 degrees. Bizarre weather for October. Well, it will end tomorrow, when we head down into the 50s.

  • Kate Sarsfield

What a day! The first really bad weather of the season. High winds, torrential rain and, of course, I had to go out in it to deliver a load of cat & kitten food to the rescue centre. Popped into PJ the mechanic on the way home: I can’t open the boot (trunk). The lock has seized & it won’t pass it’s annual check up in that state. Booked in for Friday 11ish.

  • Michele Soyer

One of my neighbor / gal pals is retirementing!!! yeah!! So a party is loomimg….have to start planning….love a good party!!!

      • Michele Soyer

I must be Irish! I love a good party with plenty of food, drinks and music….my relatives would baulk at me saying we Hungarians don’t love parties we do! There was always a woman – yes a woman who would get a bit tipsey get up sing like Ethel Merman loud and brassy and really , for me, make the night! she also always wore a sequined red or purple dress – I have no idea who she was related to but she was at ALL the parties…I remember my mother was appalled but my dad loved her, laughed and clapped and seriously wanted encores! those were the nights he would take my hand and we would cardas and polka mazurka around the floor. Kate these parties were always held in a relatives bar….he reserved the waltz for my mom…..memories memories memories….

  • l p

the day is going well. longer day than expected volunteering and then off to pick up some medications that were ready. booked some appointments when I got home. quiet evening (so far). enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

First attack of Raynaud’s this Autumn – knew it was colder. Managed to give my car a good vaccuuming ready for it’s annual test next week.

  • heather

Just got home from a trip to my favorite deli which they pretty much ruined and they raised the prices on all of their deli meats again! I thought I was going to scream when I saw the new prices per pound! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  • Michele Soyer

Back to cooler temps today so went out and swept both patios this morning – with all the leaves falling it is a daily chore now…have no desire to get dressed to go out for a walk so the treadmill it is today!

  • Kate Sarsfield

Hurrah! Temperature’s been normal for 48hrs now and am feeling almost well, just very tired. Leant the meaning of ‘to a T’ today: from the word tittle, meaning a small mark in printing, like the dot over i & j.

  • Michele Soyer

70 degrees this morning! Took a walk to the shopping plaza and back to enjoy the warm air….waiitng to hear once again from the volunteer supervisor all appointments made and transport organized for the people on my list…maybe the food bank needs me??? tonight drinks with my friend…

  • Tamra Phelps

Dreary rainy day–getting the leftovers of Hurricane Isaias here in KY. Feeling a little better as far as the edema and inflammation issues but also edgy because of the steroid. So…it’s a trade-off.

  • SimplySherriUSA

๐Ÿ‘‹ from the Seattle area! Enjoying no rain today and being able to clean up the first batch of leaves. It’s a long and messy job.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Bit better than yesterday so managed the cat litter boxes, cat bowls and cooked a meal for myself. Hoping to get outside into the garden tomorrow to tidy up a bit after the recent high winds. We’ll see!

  • Michele Soyer

Sunday roast in the oven, emails written and ready to sit and read for the rest of the day…so lazy lol X has suspended me again so have to wait it out to tweet…happwns at least once every 6 months…Happy Sunday all!

  • l p

the day is going well. spent the morning making a cake for tomorrow’s anniversary celebration for friends and then cleaning up the kitchen. heading for a bit of a rest. hopefully the evening will be quiet.
    enjoy your week-end. thanks

  • heather

I woke up to computer issues but I am not going to let it ruin my day! Ahhh how did we survive without these things in our lives years ago.

  • Michele Soyer

Going to be in the upper 80’s today – if mom was still with us she would call this pneumonia weather.. cool then too hot rinse repeat..lol…laundry done, vacuuming done have to go out and feed the birds and bunnies then my day is my own….no cooking today subs but i will bake some dessert for this evening…happy weekend all.

  • Tamra Phelps

Connie, for my money nothing is scarier than Hitchcock’s The Birds. That movie always creeps me out–I grew up in an area of KY where the birds fly South every year and roost for days. Birds in trees everywhere–you would hear them every morning, when it was still half dark and you were waiting for the school bus. Thousands of them in the trees. Yikes. Hitchcock was so scary because it felt like his scenes could actually happen in real life.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Feeling a bit better, well, enough to sort out the litter trays & food bowls! Have to go into town tomorrow to collect my usual meds buts that’s all I’m doing. Haven’t eaten since Wed. but am drinking water.

  • heather

I just got home from a trip to Costco it was cray cray in there today! I didn’t find any good deal either two steaks were $60.00 I didn’t buy them I was in shock over the price! I did however, buy the deli meatloaf and mashed potatoes going to steam some broccoli and bam dinner is done! Have a great Friday out there and remember do something kind for yourself today.

  • l p

the day is going well. today is finalising putting the garden to bed. I’m so glad I have a small garden so I have lots of produce put away for the winter. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Beautiful weather this morning so took a long walk and enjoyed the cool air – warmer weather coming then rain so I had better enjoy it! Happy Friday all

  • Darla

Confused as to why the entries aren’t adding up into the total entry count. It makes me not want to put in any extra efforts if it doesn’t count. Is this form broken, what’s happening??!

  • Tamra Phelps

The steroids seem to be helping the edema. Of course, that means the fluid has to go somewhere–I’ve been living close to the bathroom for a few days now, lol.

  • l p

the day is going well. out early to do some shopping and then did some cooking and deliver it to a friend. the day certainly seems to go quickly. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

I just read your caregiver post about the eye massager and I am so getting one of those. Thank you for also sharing the great tips. I need to remember all of those and also to take time for myself once in a while. Humor is so helpful and it’s important to laugh as much as you can. Have a nice day out there.

  • Kate Sarsfield

I’ve spent a couple of days in bed feeling miserable. I’m still shivering/sweating but beginning to feel a bit better.

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, finally some answers from the doctor. It looks like most of my chronic issues might be relateed to an autoimmune problem. It first started to look like the answer when I temporarily took steroids for a pain issue–and during that 2 weeks all my other issues started to clear up! Yep. Turns out tests showed my inflammatory markers are way elevated. So, on a low dose of steroids to see how it helps.

  • l p

I feel like I’ve watched Alice grow up in a way through your pictures and stories, such a beautiful young lady.

  • heather

I just got in the door from going my BIG grocery shopping and I am worn out! I had to go to two different stores to get what I needed and I had to bag all my stuff and then schlep it all out to the car and then allllllllll in to the house – wears me out!

  • Michele Soyer

  • Kate Sarsfield

I was kept awake by cats wanting in/out. Wish they’d make their minds up, dammit! Made a fettucinni casserole type thing with Quorn ‘chicken’ pieces. Loads of chilli. Very yummy and will last me a couple of days.

  • Michele Soyer

A great day yesterday at the largest candy store in Mn.. went last year a bit later so most of the Christmas lovlies were gone.. not this year got all the candy for the holidays and they also have flavored maple syrup and big jars of honey… then on to the apple orchard farm and bought pecks of apples for sauce, butter and desserts + enjoying!

  • Tamra Phelps

Kate, maybe I need to look for a SAD lamp, too. I get so down when it gets dark at 5, lol. Been a little under the weather lately, but have a doctor’s appt Monday that I hope might really help to figure things out. at least I feel hopeful there might be an answer for all these issues.

  • l p

the day is going well. finally feeling a litte more caught up after 2 very, very busy days. was out to the farmers markets this morning and had a great time. the evening has been quiet. enjoy your week-end. thanks

  • Shannon Mitchell

Temperature was nice so I went out today. I found a really cute Halloween outfit, skeleton top with some Halloween printed pants, really cute for $5.

  • Kate Sarsfield

My temperature went up a bit last night but it’s back to normal again. Mowed the lawn & did a bit of weeding. It’s getting cold at night now and dark by 18.30 ๐Ÿ™ Ordered a SAD lamp for myself; my sister’s had one for a couple of years & swears by them to keep her mood up. The only alternative is hibernation and that’s not a realistic option, unfortunately!

  • heather

Just got home from a trip to the local library it sure was a busy place today. Now I am doing laundry and I am already missing a sock!

  • heather

Just got in the door from grocery shopping and running around town. It’s time for a serious break now. Happy Friday to everyone out there.

  • Susan Christy

TGIF! I’ve been tagging you on IG now that I know you are OK with it. Hope you win something great! Lately I’ve won lemonade, spreadable honey and a Papa Murphy’s gift card. Have a great weekend!

  • Michele Soyer

Live in the wonderful state of Minnesota!! Well the hockey season has begun and the opening game is a home game so my friend has already said we are going!! Ok well a very cool day today so dressed for a walk and plans for going out to the apple orchard store tomorrow!

  • Kate Sarsfield

Hooray! My temperature’s down to normal and the rain has stopped so I’m gathering all my dirty laundry together to go get it washed. Really miss not having a washing machine, but first I’d have to get the plumbing sorted and that’s proving impossible. Might get some icecream, fancy a little treat for myself!

  • Kate Sarsfield

OMG! Alice is so grown-up! She was about two, I think when I first arrived here. If time has done that to her, what the hell’s it done to me?

  • Elizabeth

Shallow Grave is about the only scary movie I’ve watched multiple times; it’s a thriller from the Trainspotting producers with a very young Ewan McGregor. Lots of banter in kind of a Hitchcock way (but yeah, I did have to look away a few times). The original movie version of What We Do In The Shadows is still my favorite, even though the TV series was great, too. The original silent Nosferatu is kinda cool, and very short. I’m stressing out today because I have to make doctor and lab appointments for my mom, the visiting nurse is coming later, and my brother is pestering me about various things.
