I know that you’ve heard me complain before that my house is situated on one big ant hill. I know that we are ground zero for every single ant in the world. Our house is full of ants all the time!! I really hate using chemicals around the house because of the Grandkids and our pets but I also wasn’t sure if this type of product would actually help with our house on an ant hill situation.

The BugzOff Pest Control Ultrasonic Repellent is super easy to use just plug it in. You will want to be certain that the area is clear of any objects; you don’t want the ultrasonic waves blocked. So, make sure that the BugzOff isn’t behind furniture, curtains, toasters! I plugged my BugzOff in the kitchen. in by the kitchen sink since the area is clear and the sound waves can radiate across the entire room. A full 6000 square feet.

I plugged the BugzOff as soon as it arrived. The device itself is black with a blue night light. The night light can not be turned off, which is fine for in the kitchen. The device doesn’t make any noise which is another perk that I like. it also doesn’t affect our dog. However, if you have pet hamster, mice this isn’t something that you should consider.

Now BugzOff isn’t an immediate fix, you will have to leave this plugged in for a couple of days to see a difference. HOWEVER!!! The ants were dramatically decreased in about 2 hours! I was GIDDY!     I really do appreciate your post, every day, I’ve always battled with pests and I used a chemical and it’s dangerous to the health of my family, However, I really thank gladly because I found this kind of strategy to termite the insects and it’s also chemical free. 🙂

    Congrats on finding a product that allows you to keep things safe for the kids and pets in the house. And thanks for sharing that although this is not an immediate fix, there should be considerate improvement before the tide eventually turns all the way around.

    Instead of putting the garbage that you have during the week in a bag, use a sealed container instead. This will help to lock in the stale food that you have, so it will not send off an odor and attract pests. Try to purchase large enough containers to store the amount of garbage per week in your home.

    My roommates and I just discovered that we have a serious issues with ants in our house. We aren’t sure where they are coming from and we aren’t to sure how to stop them either. This helped us see that there are sprays and other things that could work, and if all else fails, we can always call a pest control service to come help us out.

    What if you have indoor bunnies? They are kind of borderline between hamsters and cats? I’m would love to try it for roaches, we have scrub and a creek behind our place so it can be a problem

    Wow, so good to know! We don’t have issues with bugs, but mice. Yuck. We live in an old farmhouse and the mice think this is their home too. We use mice traps but it seems so mean. Don’t get me wrong, they are in my home. I will do what I have to to keep them away. But many this ultrasonic device would be better. Thanks for the review.

      Laura, On a visit to my sisters house in Texas I had my first run in with Fire Ants. HOLY MOLY those little buggers BITE HARD!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      So far (knock on wood) I have never since encountered them.

    This is the first I’ve ever heard of ultrasound for pests! We had a ton of ants growing up, so I know what you mean. All that spraying isn’t healthy, either. I’d love to move into the country, I may need this!!!

    If I had a pet rat I couldn’t use this. Luckily I DON’T have a pet rat. It is getting toward winter when the mice like to come in to get warm.

    I think I need this. This time of year, the bugs start trying to come in & I hate spiders, ants, etc! I was never sure if these things worked, but it sounds impressive!

    My sister is scared stiff of spiders & when she moved into her house (v. old) they were everywhere. I used to have to go down every evening & remove them from the glasses/jars she’d plonked over them during the day. Then she got one of these sonic repellent things & bingo – no more frantic phone calls “Kate, come quick”!!!!
