Car Dash Cam, HD, Wide Angle 4X Zoom Night Vision Dash Camera!!

I have something really cool to share with you today! Check out my new car dash cam from AmorTek!! This dash cam is so cool!! It not only captures videos in HD but it has 4X zoom lens. This dash cam even has NIGHT VISION!!

I love this camera! I’m a huge techie geek so when I was offered the chance to review the AmorTek Dash Cam I jumped at the chance. Setting up the camera was easy by just pushing buttons and reading the menu. The instruction manual wasn’t easy to follow, good thing that I love to push buttons and explore on my own!

Driving in Southern California is well, a lot of stop and go; as in stop and then go 70 miles an hour. This dash cam gives me piece of mind that if I ever get in an accident I’ll be able to show how the actual event in real time. The dash cam records in 1, 3 or 5 minute increments and then immediately starts a new video. Once the 8GB stick is full the dash cam films over the oldest video and keeps going in this cycle. The camera will even record audio!!

My favorite reason though is just the ride. As a driver you don’t always get to enjoy the ride. I can’t wait to take this little gem to Yosemite with us. The scenery will be amazing!! My daily commute isn’t really a scenic drive but at least you will be able to see the picture quality.

I complied 7 videos into just one. I didn’t want to scare anyone with my driving so I didn’t add the bumper to bumper from my morning commute.  I just wanted to show you how awesome the video quality is on this dash cam!!

This dash cam has three modes, video record mode, still photo mode and playback mode. You can easily switch modes with just the press of one button.
The camera arrives with an in-car charging cable attached to a very long cord, a cord so long that I could stick the camera on the back window of my Honda CRV. The cord has the 12v auxiliary plug on one end. Works fine in a cigarette lighter plug. The swivel suction mount has the strongest suction power!! I’ve had my camera on my windshield for almost 3 weeks and it’s still staying strong even though it’s been very hot here in California.

The dash cam also comes the 8GB micro SD card pre-installed which is good for 70 minutes of video before the camera starts over. If you want more video time grab a 64GB stick for 280 minutes of video. There is also a mini USB cable which is great for transferring video to my computer. Also included is the user manual.

WHINES

I’m loving the camera! I am thoroughly impressed with the video quality. If I were to be in a car accident I truly believe that anyone watching the video would be able to see the accident in stunning HD! The instruction manual needs some help. It’s hard to follow. I’m also not really crazy about the cord that attaches to the camera, there is no internal battery for the camera so it has to be plugged in at all times. Those are small whines, I’m crazy thrilled with the dash cam!!

The quality is REALLY good. My brother has to drive all the time for his job and I know this would be a true godsend for him. Thanks for the thoughtful and informative review.

This car dash cam sounds pretty awesome! This would be great to have for all of our long distance travels! Thanks for sharing this.

I have never owned a dash cam. I do love checking out videos from other people’s dash cams on YouTube, especially those of Semi Truck Drivers who travel all over the United States.

This is awesome! I would have loved to have had this when I was in India. Driving there is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen (we had a local driver – I could NEVER have driven there and I’m from Chicago and used to chaos). On 3 lane roads there are cars, trucks and motorcycles that drive 6 wide. There is no obervation of lanes, speeds or right of way. It was truly chaos!

I am constantly driving my parents around and my sister has young children and there are young children that play out in the street in my neighborhood. This would be such a help.

I could use one of these, we have a lot of kids that play in the street and ride their bikes. I think it would come in real handy at night.

Today we were driving in a big town that is close to my home. We rarely go to “the big city” but needed some specific items that we needed a large city to find. As we were driving a car was following really close. My husband tapped his brakes to alert the car it was making him nervous. There was a passing lane, so there was no reason we should be slowing him down. He zoomed around us, and held his hand to his throat, threatening my husband that he would slit his throat. What?! I was so confused. I grabbed my phone and dialed 911, and waited to press call. They guy drove off. But it was so scary. I wish I had this dashcam (and a rear cam). It would have made me feel safer, and I could have used it if I had needed to contact the police.

Considering the craziness on the roads these days, these probably out to be on every car! It would solve a lot of mysteries for the courts.

Wow, super fancy! I wasn’t sure about the idea of filming my drive, but… the point you made about having an accident and being able to prove what happended makes really good sense. Would also be a great safety feature for any sort of robbery or etc.

LOL, there is a guy that Chris works with and he is in Twinsberg, OHIO that has one of these for his car since there is high crime there and a lot of panhandlers that get mad/violent when you don’t give them money. It is sad that we live in a world where one of these is necessary. Thank you for the review.

I’m thinking cameras like this may start to become a fairly standard feature, perhaps not of this quality, but everyone wants and/or needs a camera now!!

I suppose they could be useful in built up, heavily populated areas but where we are you’re more likely to be hit my a charging bull or runaway horse!

I can see how these would be a Godsend in some circumstances! I noticed a lot of the online accident video comes from Russia, & found out that deliberate accidents for profit are so common there that many people have these cameras to protect themselves if they are targeted.
