It’s always puzzled me why so many buildings in the cities are empty after 6pm. It just doesn’t make economic sense to have all that expenditure for it to only be used for half the day and it can make for a bleak and dangerous environment at night. Some office buildings in Dublin are now converting their public areas, canteens, bathrooms etc. into places where the homeless can bathe, be fed a substantial meal and sleep in relative safety. The homeless people then help to clean the area ready for the workers to arrive at 8/9am. This ‘shared’ use of buildiings is proving to be extremely popular and other companies now want to jump on the ‘ethical’ bandwagon to the benefit of all involved.
