• Time For Some Self Care

    self care

What IS Self Care? Per the National Institute of Mental Health: Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact. I have created several posts about self-care because I believe that it’s essential to our well-being. (In my case, it also keeps The Husband alive!) There are several ways that you can take time for self-care. A long hot bath, candles, a glass of wine, and a murder podcast. (Okay, seriously THEY are addicting!) I know that not everyone enjoys the hot bath part. However, who doesn’t love a beautiful candle, a glass of wine and a murder mystery? For me, I have several things that I consider self-care. A walk through our property. It’s quiet, peaceful, and…

  • Sleep! Oh How I Miss You

    Snoring woman Angry Man

If you have been on Peanut Butter and Whine for a while, you know that I complain WHINE about not sleeping well. Whining WELL, I’m here to whine some more. Is it my age? Is it the mattress? Is it the pillow? Is it The Husband? (Yes, I do like to blame him for everything. WHY not this??) All I know is I wake up tired. I wake up with my back hurting. My neck hurting, and the dog is snoring. I think the only one in the bed getting a good night’s sleep IS THE DOG!! (she does NOT look amused at the early morning photo shoot) A doctor’s visit and a home sleep study gave me some answers. I have severe sleep apnea. Oh GOODIE. Let’s get fitted for a CPAP machine. I was absolutely dreading that. I imagined what my uncle had, a big machine with a huge pump, and a continual swooooosh sound. The Fitting Thankfully,…

  • Handling Stress This Christmas Season

    Holiday stress elf

I love Christmas time. I love the decorations and the music. I love the hustle and bustle of shopping. Now, with that said Sandpoint Idaho is a very laid back sleepy little town. Sooooo MY hustle and bustle is very tame compared to California. THAT, my friend is SOME bustle in my hustle. I used to go Black Friday shopping every year. I even talked my daughter Selena into a (I do mean A) Black Friday 3 am shopping day. She hated every. single. second. You can NOT bribe, pay, entice, or cajole that girl to a Black Friday shopping trip NO MATTER how good the sale is. (Pfffftttt is she really my DAUGHTER??!) As usual the squirrels got me going off in another direction. WELL, technically Selena does feel stressed shopping in crowds so it’s not too far off-topic. (Whew that was a quick save!) I have a couple of ideas to help with Holiday Stress. Let’s start with…

  • How Redox Supplements Can Reverse the Effects of Oxidative Stress

    ASEA Redox

Millions worldwide suffer from weak immune systems, unhealthy inflammatory responses, heart disease, digestive complaints, and hormone imbalance. Redox supplement restores the Redox signaling molecules native to your body to help protect, rejuvenate, and keep your cells healthy; check out feedbacks like asea reviews for its effectiveness. Reduces Inflammation The human body’s intricate systems depend on cellular communication to function. That communication is carried by Redox signaling molecules, created by mitochondria to carry electrochemical messages from cell to cell and system to system. When the mitochondria cannot replenish these Redox signaling molecules, the body suffers from inflammation and other oxidative stress-related symptoms. Oxidative stress can reduce the efficiency of many body functions, including digestion, immune function, and blood sugar regulation. This imbalance can lead to chronic disease and reduced overall health. Drinking four ounces of Redox daily provides the body with these active Redox signaling molecules and supports optimal health. Reverses Cell Damage Millions of people suffer from weak immune systems,…
