I hope everyone is enjoying their 3-day holiday. (Mum and Kate I hope you are enjoying your Monday!) We know that Memorial Day means a 3 day weekend, but it’s important to remember the reason behind this American holiday. It’s to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Memorial Day! Remember and Honor!
Memorial Day a time to remember and honor. Memorial Day is one of the federal holidays in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May. Memorial Day is also considered the unofficial beginning of summer in the United States. I hope you enjoy a long weekend wherever you are.
