Engagements Only Come Once In A Relationship

Getting engaged is one of the magical moments that any coupe ever shares. However, you only get one shot at it, which is why you must get it right.

You have already confirmed that they are the person for you. But how can you be sure that the engagement is everything you both deserve and more? Here’s all you need to know.

The Proposal

In a heterosexual relationship, it’s traditional for a man to propose to the woman. Still, there is nothing to stop the bride-to-be popping the question. Likewise, same-sex couples enjoy equally beautiful proposals.

The engagement ring is one of the most important pieces of jewelry that a person ever receives. Popular choices like 1.5 carat diamonds make a big statement. However, the key is to ensure that the band and the shape of the diamonds is right too.

As for the proposal itself, the key is to do what works for you. Popping the question on vacation or back at the site of your first date are popular choices. As long as it’s romantic and offers a chance to express your true feelings, the location is of secondary importance.

The Engagement Party

Some couples get engaged and want to scream it to the world right away. Others will take a few days to enjoy the bliss before telling friends and family about their new status. Either way, though, there should be a chance to celebrate in style.

Engagement parties aren’t a necessity, but have become very popular. Hosting a backyard party is one option. Alternatively, you could hire a venue and a DJ. Other issues, like the theme are a personal preference. The key is to do what works for you.

It can be very useful if you plan to have a smaller wedding or stay engaged for a few years before tying the knot. The engagement party signals a major moment while the planning is more casual than the wedding itself. Arranging it together is incredibly rewarding.

The Engagement

Engagement ring Some couples decide to get married shortly after their engagement while others delay the process. The latter option has become increasingly popular as it gives couples enough time to  plan their big day without as much stress or pressure.

The average wedding costs $29,000 with many couples spending a far larger fee. So, giving yourselves more time to prepare for the event is often a necessity. Not least when you are also saving for the down payment on a property purchase.

Engagements are supposed to be romantic and can be a great excuse to have more date nights. You can also seek a lot of joy from pre-wedding events. Looking at venues, sampling menus, and booking entertainers are some of the great examples.

The Final Word

Getting engaged is a magical time in your lives. Therefore, the most important ingredient in the recipe for success is to enjoy it. As long as you do this, the engagement can be considered a triumph and the perfect prelude to married life.

A lot of good information here…………………. BUT I am one those people that think going in to major debt for a wedding bride or her parents paying for it.

Years ago when my sister in law got married she had it all planned and paid before they walked down the asile. Including their honeymoon. My cousin has been married over a year now and they are still paying for the wedding and will be for several years.
