I signed up for a daily email from CrimeMapping.com. I set the radius of 5 miles surrounding my home. I had no idea how scary my neighborhood had become. I get a daily email with at least 6 to 10 incidents. Within FIVE miles of my home.

I am THRILLED that I was given the opportunity to review the Garage Defender. From our neighborhood watch meetings I had learned some tricks to ensure the safety of my family and home; like timers on lights; burglars can’t really tell your routine because the lights go on and off at the same time everyday. I also learned that once the bad guys are in your garage they can take their time loading up their car or van so you should always lock the door that separates the garage and the house because it will at least slow down the bad guys down a little bit longer.

The Garage Defender stops burglars from using a wire or coat hanger to manually release the garage door opener and lifting the door up.
I received the basic version to review. It’s a light weight about a half a pound. It’s a very hard plastic like material approximately 10″ by 10″ by .5″ and was super easy to install. It took The Husband less than 30 seconds to install. The Garage Defender doesn’t require any tools to install. Simply place the metal shield on the J-bar and snap the clamp on the back.
