Insect Shield!! Camping Without The Bugs!

I’ve started planning our yearly Yosemite Camping trip. Last year, during the trip I made up a list of MUST have for 2014! The very top of the list was a better bug repellent! Last year the mosquito’s drove me INSANE!!! So, while I was researching bug repellents, I found Insect Shield. Have you heard of this company?  They have CLOTHING that repels insects!! WHAT?!?!?! I was so intrigued, I spent most of the evening on this site. Hats, clothes for men, women, kids, even blankets that repel insects! The selection is huge! There are items for everyone and ALL of them repel insects!! Including mosquitos, tick, ants, flies, chiggers and midges plus the others you don’t see. So, after looking around, ohhhing and ahhhing, I went straight to the review page. There are tons of testimonials, people are thrilled with Insect Shield. The positive comments go on and on!! Insect Shield can be used by the entire family, there are no restrictions for use!! That means that even 2 year old Alice will be protected!! The protection is built in and ODORLESS!!! Hot diggity!! There is no special storage or care required. Everything is long-lasting too!!

I’m definitely choosing Insect Shield: Years of research and testing Insect Shield Repellent Apparel was registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Insect Shield apparel and gear products combine the patent-pending Insect Shield process with a proprietary formulation of the insect repellent permethrin—resulting in effective, odorless insect protection that lasts the expected lifetime of the product.

Then I checked out Insect Shield on Facebook and found out they do a ton of really awesome things like working with World Vision USA  to protect children in malaria risk areas with the Insect Shield blankets. WOW!!  I also learned that Insect Shield was featured in Glamour Magazine!!!

Oh yea, I’m definitely sold!!! Check out my shopping list:

So in May, expect to hear my thoughts on Insect Shield after we get back from Yosemite! Yes, as well as a TON of photos!!

I’m curious, had you heard of Insect Shield? Did you know there was such a thing as insect repellent clothing?? I’m also curious if insects are a big problem where you live? Okay, maybe not right now…. but in the spring and summer??

Okay, now I’m off to hunt for some good hiking boots!!

Testimonial: two years ago when I won a trip to Patagonia I researched insect repellant and found the Insect Shield site. I got a hat, shirt and pants. The friend I went with just brought bug spray. I did not get one bite of any kind and she got lots of bites. I especially liked the hat for keeping bugs away from my face.

This is awesome! So you really don’t have to wash them in a special way or in so certain kind of detergent? We have so many insects here in the summer it would be great. Thanks for sharing.
