    1. I love seeing the world. Even with glasses, I have about a fifth the eyesight of most people. I’ve never held a drivers license. I’ve suffered rejection and discrimination. Some young women wouldn’t date me. Others were discouraged by their parents. But, because I have less, perhaps I treasure what I have the more. A family down the road is full of people who can’t see reds and greens. I am blessed that I can. 2. I love my life. More so, I am grateful for my life. A couple times I was certain that I was going to die. I didn’t. I remember the terror, and I remember thinking, even with its frustrations, I love playing the game. And I do not want it to end. 3. I love my family. I am grateful for my children. Two sons fall on the autism spectrum. One has graduated from college and has a challenging job, where he is loved and appreciated. The other is in college now, and his prospects are good. I love my children, and I particularly love the folks who’ve helped them to be good adults. I’ve watched parents give up before the race is run. I’m glad my parents provided a better example, so, in turn, I knew how to hang in there without quitting. I am grateful for my wife, who has lived with less than I had hoped, and done so with amazing grace. Given my dating history, you can perhaps imagine how much I treasure her. 4. 5. and 6. I love my God. I love Jesus. And I love the Holy Spirit. They’ve always been there for me. I’m glad my eyesight has improved enough over a lifetime for me to finally recognize that. I’m grateful that They sent a neighbor, to help me mow my yard of all things, when I was fighting with my own lawnmower. As a truth, and as a metaphor, that stands on its own. Without God and His servants, I could easily have been a bitter evil man, rather than a grateful one. We are blessed so that we may be a blessing.

OK, today I’ll list 5 TV shows I love: In no particular order, I have always loved watching The Dick Van Dyke Show, can laugh at them over & over. I can watch Star Trek Voyager or Star Trek Enterprise all day, they are the TV equivalent of comfort food to me. The West Wing is a show I’ve seen every episode of several times. Currently, I’d say my favorite TV show is Bob’s Burgers or The Big Bang Theory.
