Mazda5 Grand Touring and Yosemite

Driving to Yosemite in the Mazda5 was a dream!! The car hugs the road. Hauls a ton of camping supplies. Has a ton of added amenities, hook up for your iPad or iPhone. SWEET!!!  2 charging ports. One in the very back of the Mazda5. The charging port in the back was really HANDY when I wasn’t driving I could still charge my phone.

The Mazda5 Grand Touring has hidden compartments under the middle row of seats.  Lift up the seat cushion and there is room for a purse, iPad and phone. (On each side!)  Note to self…. be sure and empty the compartment before you install the babies car seat!!  Yup…. did it TWICE!!!

Driving in Yosemite with the sunroof open is awesome!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the double sliding doors!!
Heated front seats.  It’s REALLY COLD at night when you’re camping!! Heated side mirrors. One of my favorite features.

See the cup holder in the center of the middle rows of seats? That has yet another compartment under a tray. It will hold toys, purse, cell phone a number of items. But, Mazda truly thought of everything because if you need a longer space to haul stuff that compartment flips up and into the right side seat.

Another great feature is the pocket between the front seats.  I found that super handy for the charging cords!!

Backseat has AIR!!!!!! If you have a car that doesn’t have vents in the back you know how awesome that is!!  My car doesn’t have this!  The backseat gets miserable at times!

5 speed automatic

157-hp 2.5L DOHC engine with variable valve timing

Comfortable roomy seating for 6!! SIX PEOPLE!!

Homelink and compass in the mirror.

Don’t forget! I averaged 25.5 miles per gallon!! Driving IN THE MOUNTAINS!!!!!

This sweet sporty Mazda5 sells for $24,470!!

Disclosure I received a complimentary week driving the Mazda5 for the purpose of my review. (They aren’t letting me keep this one either I checked AGAIN!!) No other compensation was provided. The opinions are mine and 100% honest. I have not been influenced in any way.

I am so super jealous! What a very nice auto to have driven to such a lovely place. I have never owned a Mazda. But it sure looks great!

Looks it was a great trip, you did one of my favorite things to do in the Summer and that is camping. Love the mini van, looks like it held everything for the big trip too.

The outdoors and cars: two of my favorite things! It’s amazing how good engineering can squeeze so much space out of a small vehicle. Unfortunately my family size is such that I have to drive a full-size vehicle now. 🙁
