Modern Home Furniture Trends Topping the Charts in 2019
Are you desirous of breathing new life into your interiors? Are you wondering how to add to the value of your home or office by initiating a makeover? Are your renovation and interior decoration plans waiting for new ideas and concepts? If the answers to these questions are in the affirmative then it’s certainly time to give your existing furniture a hard, long look and replace it with modern home furniture. As you would want to invest in good-looking and contemporary pieces of furniture only, it makes good sense to remain on top of furniture trends that involve furniture for domestic or commercial setups.
In what follows below, we aim to throw light on some of the finest modern furniture trends in 2019 that you should be aware of.
Trends in Modern Furniture
Gone are the days when conventional designs and styles of furniture made it to the purchase list of buyers. New, practical, and innovative designs are proving as the best bet for people looking for the best options for their environment. For instance, Kevin Sykes from ModernDigsFurniture.com says that round dining tables make a space look both cozy and modern. This is in contrast to rectangular and square-shaped dining tables that have been the top favorite for most home makers in the past few decades. Just like ground dining tables, there are several other types of furniture pieces that are no longer ‘staples’ in the world of modern furniture. Read on to know more.
- Use of oxidized oak
Home furniture has given a big ‘yes’ to oxidized oak in today’s time. Among the biggest trends in the world of furniture, oxidized oak serves as the darkened interpretation of the original white oak. It includes a strong feeling of coziness and comfort. Apart from giving off an earthy and grounded feel, oxidized oak is capable of transforming any space with its natural aesthetics and worth.
2. Multi-functional and multi-utility pieces
Furniture designed to meet with multiple purposes has immense staying power and requires a look for sure. The trend for this type of furniture is expected to continue over the next few decades. However, this does not necessarily mean that you should be investing in futuristic pieces only. You may want to include a few multipurpose and contemporary-looking pieces to store items, use as a work desk, or double up as seating arrangements. For example, a storage bench with two drawers is both elegant and multi-functional. You can use the top of the bench as a cushioned seat while storing useful objects in the drawers placed below the seat.
Customized Deluxe Modern Furniture
With the passage of time, classic furniture designs are no longer as alluring as they used to be. You may want to check out the different types of furniture pieces in online and offline stores before taking your call. It is a good idea to determine your exact furniture needs, budget, and space constraints before triggering off your purchase.

We have a round dining room table and actually I prefer it over a square/rectangular one. Our house isn’t that big and this one doesn’t take up a lot of space yet it seats 4 which is all we need.

Dana, When we bought our house in Idaho they left the table here. It’s huge! I miss my little round table.

Most of my furniture is rehomed! LOL A lot of it came from my mother or I have picked up at a second hand store. It is still cozy but affordable. We have a old farm house here in the country so it does fit in well with our home. Besides that when the hubby comes in from the barn, I am glad I don’t have expensive furniture.

My furniture could really use some updating. I like the multi-functional pieces especially those that offer extra storage.

I need to visit these sites, as I need to update my furniture and don’t even know where to begin. The oxidized oak sounds beautiful. I love wood pieces.

I like the idea of multi-functional pieces. I saw a livingroom table that opened to reveal it was a fridge. Wow!

Most furniture can be up-cycled to suit trends or personal preferences. Much cheaper!

I like the multi-use pieces. They can be great for tight spaces!

I suppose it really does depend on the space that you’re occupying. A lot of classic furniture is too big for modern apartments & homes.

This is good info! I never gave it much thought, but old-fashioned classic is part of the reason your place can look dated and passe. I’d love to get an office set, as I still sit on the floor to do all my paperwork, if I ever can, I want to keep this in mind!

I love the modern style my daughter has it in her home. Since I have a house that was built in the late 1800s I go with a country style. Still needs a lot of work but I love it.

I like darker woods, so I think I’d like oxidized oak. It sounds beautiful.
