Novica Does It Again!! This Bold Black Onyx Ring ROCKS!!
Alright I can’t stand it, hold your ears……. I LOVE MY JOB!!! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!!
Whew, that has been bubbling in my chest for the last 24 hours! Ever since my Novica order arrived, containing one of the most bold, beautiful and stunning rings ever! I love bold rings. My new cocktail ring was designed by Mahavir; not only this ring but all of his jewelry is designed by him. Origin of Onyx
Onyx is considered to be a protective stone worn when facing adversaries in battles of conflicts of all kinds. There is myth about onyx that says the goddess Venus was resting on the banks of the Indus River. As she slept, Cupid used the point of one of his enchanted arrows to give her a manicure. The parings of her nails then fell into the waters of the sacred river. Since the nails were of heavenly origin, they sank to the river bottom and were metamorphosed into onyx.
There are a lot of interesting stories and myths about onyx, from Indians and Persians believing that wearing onyx protected them from the evil eye; to placing onyx on the stomach of a pregnant woman in labor would reduce the labor pain and bring on earlier delivery. Onyx has been used for protection, defense against negativity. Onyx is said to help with your rejuvenation, intuition, balance, grounding, self-confidence and more. Seriously, Google Black Onyx.
Regardless of the origin, the meaning or the reason; this beautiful Fascination black onyx ring is STUNNING!! I’ve been obsessed with this ring since I first laid eyes on it. From the tapered band to the huge bold stone this is a true statement ring!!
THE RING!
The Fascination onyx stone is faceted into cosmic quadrants, onyx lures with mystical fascination. The oval gem crowns a sterling silver ring. The ring is made of .925 sterling silver. The ring is 1.2″ long and almost reaches my knuckle. Fascination is a full 1″ wide. What makes this ring so completely comfortable to wear is the tapered back; meaning the back of the band is thinner. I also want to add, when I purchase bold rings I normally go up a size because of the large band in the back; with this ring you don’t have to. I can actually wear this on my middle finger if I want. Fascination isn’t overly heavy weighing in at 0.42 ounces. It’s so comfortable to wear!!

My hubby’s parents had matching black onyx wedding rings with a diamond in the center. They were stunning also. I just love jewelry period! I also have problems with my fingers swelling, so I can only wear them for a while.

I love BIG jewellery (and dainty too) but yes, that big band can be bothersome. I feel naked without my rings but my hands are still a bit swollen after surgery last week. Another week should see me getting out of the wheelchair a bit and being generally more active so soon, my pretties, soon!
