I really needed to make a quick run ro the grocery store, ran out of milk. But it snowed and is brutally cold so I’ll just have to be out of milk for a few days.

  • l p

the day is going well. I can hardly believe it’s the end of November. did some volunteering earlier. it’s colder here so I was grateful to have a ride home. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

I have a new exercise I’ve been doing for a couple of weeks now – DUCK WALKS! Try it! It is fun, and it takes some time to start noticing you are getting better at it. Supposed to be good for core…

I just made cinnamon chips. I’m going to try them with another recipes using white chocolate. I want to use them instead of chocolate chips for cinnamon lovers. The ones I made taste good!

  • Michele Soyer

After we came home from brunch started taking down fall decorations and lights…Christmas lights up in both patios watching the snow fall…Packed and boxed all the fall and Thanksgiving dishes , glassware and linens ( have to put them in the storage locker in the garage later) after breakfast putting up the tree and more decorating! I love doing this and it can take all day and I am fine with that…

  • heather

I may take a trip to Walmart today need to get something for back pain the heating pad isn’t doing it. Hope you have a nice Sunday and the last day of November.

  • l p

the day is going well. trying to find and block all the little places that allow the cold to get in. I’m going to write them down so next year I can just refer to the list and take care of it sooner. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KaLei

Lots of cleaning the kitchen and vaccuuming to try and keep the place tidy and usuable. They went shopping earlier so I had the place to myself for a bit. They suprised me with dinner when they came back.

  • Tamra Phelps

This time of year can be so irritating, lol. Everybody seems determined to be shopping every minute of every day…I try to void the stores, honestly. I only buy three gifts (niece and nephews), so I can usually avoid the madhouse atmosphere out there. I am dangerously close to becoming a real Scrooge, lol.

  • Rose

I survived black Friday w/o buying anything, very hard with all these deals coming at ‘ya. Made some split pea soup this morning, and handmade semolina pasta. Going to try to knock off a couple things on the “to do” list I’ve been successfully avoiding LOL.

  • Michele Soyer

Snow is falling and I am getting ready for a brunch date – in the complex so no traveling…have to pack up a few goodies to bring then I am off…Everyone enjoy their Saturday…

  • heather

I am staying home today for sure!!! I went to Costco yesterday (the day after Thanksgiving) and it was like a bloodsport in there!!! To be honest, I wasn’t seeing any BIG deals to be had at all. Today I am going to shop a little on Amazon and I better be seeing some BIG deals to be had! lol $$$$$

  • Kate Sarsfield

When I first thought I’d have to replace a lost driving licence, Googled how to do it … need to report it to the Gardaí (police) so Googled the one in town. Here’s what I found! Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 – 14:00!!!!! Apparently there’s no crime here 20 hours a day, Monday to Friday and not at all at weekends!!! We must be the best-behaving little town in Ireland!

Making a start on putting up more shelves. I want to get unpacked, sorted & settled. I may never get finished, of course, but the latest black funk’s lifting so time to get on …

  • l p

the day is going well. busy with appointments and doing a little grocery shopping. on the way home, saw an elderly couple crossing the street to go to a restaurant when the woman fell. her husband and I managed to get her upright again. she said she wasn’t injured so that’s good. sad part is that the restaurant was closed. hopefully she’ll be OK tomorrow. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • Rose

Well the new types of gift bags came out good, now I need paper for doing them. I don’t know what it is with crafts, I always need something additional!!! It adds up cost wise!!

  • Kate Sarsfield

I had to show my driving licence as a form of ID today. Opened wallet – no driving licence. Frantically tried to remember when I last remember seeing it … photocopied it last Fri. at the library. Phoned the library & it was there! Big PHEW moment!

  • Michele Soyer

Had a lovely day yesterday and today is my duaghters birthday – more special foods and an amazing cake! Gifts are wrapped and ready to be opened…
I am so grateful for her…she is an amazing woman, talented, lovely and kind and patient..
    Happy Friday all…

  • heather

I am still recovering from Thanksgiving it was a nice one with a lot of yummy food. I have to admit it though my back is still broken from all the cooking and cleaning. I need a day of rest today.

  • Terri Quick

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I don’t have much family anymore. I miss all my loved ones that passed on who always made the holidays feel special.

  • Rose

Taking a break, Happy Thanksgiving! It is a beautiful day here, not too cold and sunny, good day to take a walk to walk off all that turkey and stuffing!

  • l p

the day is going well. preparing to visit family for a pot-luck dinner. looking forward to it – should be fun. thanks enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope you have a very nice day with family, friends and pets. I am going to be busy cooking and baking in a little while but it’s going to be so yummy. God Bless.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Happy Thanksgiving Day, America! Catching up on household chores (yay me!) & hopefully getting some fresh air later if the rain holds off.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Spent the afternoon training a couple of new volunteers. Great to have more help for the animals, but it did slow down things a bit. Never mind, it’ll all work out in the end. I’ll start on my Christmas cards this evening.

  • Shannon Mitchell

I can’t wait to see my Grands today. I’m ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow, I only have to bake pies and make some mac n cheese.

  • Michele Soyer

Snowed last night looks so pretty but all the accidents sorry for that…In the kitchen soon to start the pies and prepping for tomorrow. I have to remember I am not feeding an army! lol…
Everyone have a very pleasant pre Thanksgiving and a wonderful day tomorrow….

  • heather

I have to make a trip to town today to pcik up a few items then I am back to start cooking. I am making a few things today like the deviled eggs. Have a nice day out there.

  • Rose

Getting an early start on the day! Lots to do, checking out Connie’s site good way to get going! I’m glad the rain is holding off, that will make it easier being out and about!

  • l p

the day is going well. up eary – spam phone calls started at 6 this morning – not nice. but they gave me extra time to do what I needed today. did some volunteering and got some groceries. then phone calls and some of the mountain of paperwork. I’ll likely sleep well tonight. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, the weather is yucky around here. Rain, rain, rain. It’s going to be a wet Thanksgiving, for sure. At least it isn’t icy or snowy.

  • Rose

hmmm this wouldn’t work on Safari, but it works on Chrome! I experimented today with trying out new handmade gift bags, there are various tutorials on youtube. I found a fun one for soap gifts, it is like a 3-d triangle.

  • Cathy L

Trying to get over a case of food poisoning. We are lucky to love our own cooking in our family so never have the need to order out / go out to eat. We just do not enjoy it. Well………. this past Saturday night we gave in for some reason and I have been paying for it miserably since then.

  • Kate Sarsfield

I defrosted the freezer yesterday so have been eating hot cross buns for breakfast & dessert! Pop into the microwave with a big dollop of custard & yum! Lovely and spicy, perfect for the time of year.

  • Michele Soyer

All my groceries came this morning as well as my stocking the pantry list! Fog is so bad out there happy I don’t have to walk anywhere..all sorts of weather alerts regarding the snow coming – great for travelers over this holiday..Everyone have a lovely day!

  • heather

Well, our wood did not get delivered yesterday. I called to see why and silly silly me I didn’t realized that a Monday delivery date meant EITHER Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at some random time!!!!!!!!!! I was ready to SCREAM into a pillow when I heard that!!!! Seriously this is a true story!

  • l p

the day is going well. bread- and roll-baking day and it was just right. it was so cold outside, it was great to find some warm places inside to prove the doughs. ready to go for sharing with family and friends. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

It’s one of those gray days where the sun never seems to pop out. It looks like it’s getting dark all day long. This time of year can get so depressing.

  • Debbi Wellenstein

I pulled out my little bitty turkey breast to thaw for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow-last minute grocery shopping-Wednesday-pie making!

  • Michele Soyer

Out again this morning after breakfast – the real cold is coming by tonight and snow by tomorow so this is my last chance to move about…walking to the CVS and Cub grocery for bits and bobs for Thursday.
This evening I am making a “winter” keep in the pantry for emergencies grocery list – want to make sure I have a stocked pantry in case of serious cannot get out weather later on in the coming months…if I don’t do it now with the holidays coming i will forget….

  • heather

We are having some fire wood delivered today and I need to be here to micromanage the operaton. Last time they delivered wood they dumped it up the mountain behind the wood shed and I had to schlep up there and get it.

  • Rose

Getting a start on the day. So many things need daylight, that just having a light on at night doesn’t really cut it. Don’t know how some of the northern areas nearere the noth pole get by with half the year in darkness!

  • l p

the day is going well. busy day suddenly. one of our friends is leaving tomorrow so we had a farewell lunch. the invitation was unexpected but appreciated and fun. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

It was my favorite kind of day – dark and rainy and cold! It makes me feel so snuggly and cozy. Got a little bit of holiday baking and prep done. A fragrance oil arrived today, violets, that I’m looking forward to using for soap fragrance. Smells good!

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another night with no sleep so repeated yesterday: breakfast in bed, slept till early afternoon, then into the garden to do as much as I could till it got dark. Feeling a bit better.

  • heather

I am planning a trip to the grocery store later this morning need to pick up a few things. Why are we always out of milk? Hope you have a nice Sunday.

  • Shannon Mitchell

The day went well, very tired though. We took the littles to see Santa today. They had breakfast with Santa and took pictures with him.

  • Michele Soyer

Spent the day out shopping..Started out at 10am and got home around half one – couldn’t take the crowds at all…God bless Gloria wherever she is – whenever I went shopping she always asked what i got, what were the sales etc.. LOL I miss her….
Tomorrow is the Cirque de Soleil performance at 2pm and my daughter is taking me out for dinner afterwards – a wonderful afternoon planned…her friend might accompany us for dinner.
Everyone have a lovely evening and a pleasant Sunday…

    • Tamra Phelps

Cirque de Soleil??? I’m jealous! Have a great time. And I was thinking of Gloria earier, too! Her photo popped up when I was flippingg through Instagram as someone I know who follows someone who’s post I was looking at –and that made me smile.

      • Michele Soyer

The show was amazing..the performances, music, costumes, everything…
As a born in Jersey but went to school, worked and lived in NYC person , when people might look askance at MN for art and culture they are so so wrong – I can say it is wonderful here and the art institute is free to all and prices for shows are not insane…cannot believe I saw McCartney here and the ballet last year and this December coming for 1/2 the cost…

  • Kate Sarsfield

AGH!!! I was still awake at 9am! Gave up trying (or rather the bladder got fed up waiting), so got the cats sorted then took my breakfast back to bed and slept till 3pm. Did a few cat-related cleaning chores then into the garden to do some weeding. We’ve got high winds & lots of rain for the next 48 hours so it was lovely to get some fresh air.

  • l p

the day is going well. it started with a surprise – a neighbour had made banana muffins and left some at my door. they were still warm and wonderful. a great way to start as it’s a chilly day here and I had to run some errands. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • heather

  • Kate Sarsfield

Back on steroids & antibiotics for the chest infection and looking forward to the major energy boost I get after 48 hrs on steroids! On to the library to print off forms to be sent off to claim my private pension, then off to Ballina for the weekly shop. Back home just as it was it was getting dark at 4pm.

  • Michele Soyer

Inside cozy reading and cooking. Tomorrow making a turn to all the mall shoppes for last minute gifts and just to be out and about…

  • Tamra Phelps

Went to the doctor today. Maybe we are finally on to a new track. This doctor thinks the answer to recurring infections might actually be an infection that never actually goes away–an ultrasound is probably going to happen and possibly some procedure or an IV antibiotic every day for a week or two. we’ll see.

  • Thomas Gibson

Today’s been pretty steady — a mix of little tasks, small distractions, and trying to keep myself moving forward. Nothing wild, just one of those “normal” days.

  • Rose

This day is flying by! Did some cooking today, and prepping ingredients for the holiday. Bumped into a couple of my neighbors I haven’t seen in a while.

  • l p

the day is going well. out early to take advantage of a weekly sale. bright sunshine is helping to warm us up. out to a concert this evening. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

All ready to leave for my Dr.’s appt. when the surgery rang looking to cancel. An emergency in the surgery. Rescheduled for tomorrow lunchtime. We had our first frost last night, really pretty to look at but I wouldn’t have liked to have been out in it. The cats were definitely not impressed!

  • heather

I was up super early this morning 3:44 am to be exact. I used to hate getting up early but now I have found that if I get up early seven days a week it helps me sleep at night. I am on a pretty strict sleep schedule. I am making meatloaf for dinner so gotta go put the hamburger in the refrigerator to defrost it for a few hours.

  • l p

the day is going well. didn’t have anything planned but the day sure got busy – lots of phone calls and email to take care of. at least the sun is bright and adds a little heat to the Fall temps. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

This time of year is the pits, lol. It’s not yet 6 but it’s pitch dark and I have been so sleepy I slept a few hours today while sitting up, lol.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Lost internet for some reason all day yesterday. Anyway, back now & still in one piece. First sleet of the year all last night & it’s frozen so the roads are very slippery. Didn’t go to the rescue centre as I won’t see the doc till tomorrow re. my chest infection.

  • Michele Soyer

The holidays must be coming Amazon delivered last night after 9pm and this morning my mail arrived at half 8am not 2pm!! going out for a quick walk then back in to do laundry! Have a lovely day all….

  • Cathy L

Very tired this morning. It’s chilly, but supposed to get up to 74 today. I am still shocked at the weather this November, it is usually quite cold by now.

  • heather

I am just getting the house warmed up at the moment still dark out here. I am thinking of making banana pancakes this morning for breakfast sounds yummy.

  • Tamra Phelps

We’ve gone from rain to flat out storms today. Hopefully it clears up by Thursday, when I have to go to Lexington for a doctor’s appointment.

  • Rose

It is a very bright sunny day today. Managed to get help putting air in the tires, the warning light went on. The service technician said they were really low, surprised the light didn’t come on until now. But yippee, one thing done I was wondering about.

  • Michele Soyer

Sitting here trying to figure out what kind of trouble i can get in today! But i have to polish furniture and run the hoover…cold so no outside walk today…later my book and maybe just maybe a Hallmark movie..

  • heather

I am thankful that there is nothing wrong with my computer this morning. Twitter is down and so are some other sites that I use daily. I ran around resetting my modem and then after I calmed down I realized that it’s not me it’s them! It’s always GOOD NEWS when it’s them and not me!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • l p

the day is going well. bread-baking day so it’s a bit of an excuse to turn the heat up, even though there are other ways of proving the bread. regardless, everything turned out. looking forward to a good sleep tonight after last night’s wasn’t great. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

It has been one of those days. Lots of little things that popped up and had to be dealt with…phone calls to straighten things out with medical place, ugh.

  • Kate Sarsfield

We’re hitting minus temps all this week. Fine if it’s dry but no such luck! Trying to find out why my private pension is so long coming through. I need a vacuum cleaner before I can get on with messy jobs.

  • Debbi Wellenstein

It’s cloudy out right now, but the temperature is supposed to top out somewhere in the 70’s! Not bad for mid-November!

  • Michele Soyer

Grey out and we are supposed to get snow later today into the night… After feeding the outside rabbits I will take a quick turn around the neighborhood for my walking..Plan on a ratatouille this afternoon with some bread from the freezer…Doing my last few gifts online then i am done!

  • heather

I am warming up the house at the moment there is a chill in the air. I am listening to the Bob and Tom show at the moment and reading my many many emails. Hope you have a nice Monday out there.

  • l p

the day is going well. mercifully, there was no rain overnight (the forecast was possible showers) so going out to do some chores first thing today wasn’t as challenging as anticipated. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

It is starting to seem like winter now, the temps and the leaves pretty much down. I love fall, and don’t mind when it is gloomy out, as I then don’t feel guilty about staying inside!

  • heather

I am off to my favorite deli today and I am going to hit it pretty hard! Then later today I am going to fire up the leaf blower and get busy outside around the house.

  • l p

the day is going well. off to the farmers’ market this morning and found everything on the list. love those Fall fruits and veggies. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Cathy L

Finally get around to making and canning homemade salsa today. My husband ended up sick last weekend when we planned to do it, so today is the day.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Hoorah!!! It’s not going to rain for 2 whole days! I’ve a month’s load of laundry to get done but too cold to do it by hand so heading to a launderette. If you’d told me that one day that would make me happy, I’d have thought you mad, yet here I am!

  • heather

I am sipping my tea at the moment and listening to the morning news. I think I am just going to chill out today and do stuff online got some shopping to do. Later, I am going to check out the new Twilight Zone show on DVD.

  • Tamra Phelps

It’s not even Thanksgiving yet but I’m still already feeling all BAH HUMBUG about Christmas, lol. I just feel like it’s going to be a bad one for a lot of people and that is depressing.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Coughed all night. It’s like kermit in a blender in my lungs! Cancelled my plans to go swimming & doing a big shop and just went out for catfood & another cough bottle. Back to bed to keep warm.

  • Michele Soyer

One of my daughters friends stopped by this morning with a bushel of mixed apples and a peck of pears…well I spent the morning in the kitchen having a great time..made more cinnamon applesauce and sterilized them…also made some apple dumplings then on to the pearsmade pear compote and pear cinnamon “sauce”…all the jars are cooling now…decided to have a some single malt, my chair and book until lunch later.. • l p

the day is going well. out early to do the errands and got everything I needed. no more getting things I wanted but I’m grateful I for what I have. sadly, it’s always seems to be too cloudy here to see the Aura Borealis but I’m enjoying the posted pictures. colours are incredible. enjoy your evening. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

The Northern Lights have been visible here in an unusual way the last few days, and I’m seeing all kinds of amazing photos on Facebook–but last night we were pretty overcast, so no amazing views here–maybe family in other areas got to be wowed though.

    • Michele Soyer

Tamra they were amazing here for 3 nights…Never thought I would get to see them.. They also were very bright due to a thermo magnetic storm that was passing close to the tail of a comet…

  • Rose

Heh heh I had bought some hair toner that was too strong a color, so I just tried using it for dyeng a pair of cotton leggings. Worked good! No need to throw out the hair product. And I had wanted to dye the leggings. WIn win!

  • Kate Sarsfield

I got no sleep at all last night but have managed to get a couple of naps in today. Just the usual chores to do today & looking after this cough.

  • Michele Soyer

Went out again last night to see the Northern Lights…I was totally speechless ( and that is a miracle) by the beauty once again…Many people from here have posted photos…after seeing the lights we went and had coffee and dessert..Today is grocery delivery and feels like a good day to make a pot of soup!

  • Kate Sarsfield

Another busy, busy shift at the rescue centre. My back is aching & I’m cold so going to bed. Last night I made a lovely hot veggie chilli that’ll do for a couple of dinners! My cough is worse, but I’ve got a cough bottle till Doc’s appt next Thursday.

  • Rose

I’m thinking of getting a small frozen turkey to keep for after Thanksgiving, and have it cut into quarters. Haven’t found a smaller turkey though, that isn’t for Thanksgiving.

  • Michele Soyer

Last evening went out to see the Northern Lights – what an amazing sight..I was just blown away by the beauty. Tonight they are supposed to be even more spectacular so out again after 8pm..
Right now i have to get going – making yoghurt and then cottage cheese…if i still feel motivated cinnamon applesauce…

  • l p

the day is going well. went to a Veteran’s Day ceremony followed by a gathering for refreshments. so very grateful for all their dedication and sacrifice. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Cathy L

Very cold last night. There is a stray-ish cat in our neighborhood. He loves to come inside our home. I don’t know if he has a real home or just other families allow him in like we do. He looks healthy, not scrawny or unfed. He was scratching at our door last night come in, so of course I let him in and he got comfortable on one of our couches. He is not ours, so we don’t have a litter box. But I was not going to let him freeze in 20 degree weather. So we stayed up most of the night watching him 🙂

  • Tamra Phelps

It is freezing cold here in KY. We got our first snow yesterday, not a big one, what my Granny called a rabbit tracker. Still, I did not like seeing that, lol. I’m thinking about getting what I need to make a cheesecake–not that I need it, but I haven’t had a good one in a long time. The store bought ones just don’t cut it.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Grand total of 2 hours sleep last night so I started going through boxes of papers/admin stuff at 6am. Managed to reduce it all to one folder-ful. Back to bed & slept till 1.30pm. I’m in the mood to put up shelves but had better wait till I get a new vacuum cleaner. Oh, and my chest infection is back. Phoning for a Dr.’s appt. as soon as they’re back from lunch.

    • Tamra Phelps

It seems like any chest issue just hangs on and hangs on, right?? Glad you’re seeing a doctor soon, though. I’m seeing an infectious disease doctor next week for my ‘recurring UTI’–which they now believe is the same UTI that just never completely goes away! I might need a series of IVs of antibiotics. But I will do what it takes to get rid of this! I miss the days when I never gave the first thought to my health, lol.

  • Michele Soyer

A chilly start to the day today but supposedly going up to 50 degrees later on.. After breakfast on my way out shopping – yes, again..LOL. picking up the few things I missed on Saturday, then home to start making those bows for the holidays…

  • Steven Blaser

Not a great day. The water company came today at about 4:00 pm to fix the leak that was coming up through the street. They dug a hole, climbed in, and fixed somthing. They scraped in the loose dirt in the hole and dumped gravel in the hole to bring the leve up to within 6″ of street level. Then they truned the water back on and I watched as the hole filled with water and then over flowed and a stream of water at least 5 times as fast as beforer rolled down the street. They put a steel plate over the hole (3′ x 5′) and packed asphalt around the plates edges, It was 31 degrees out there and the temperature was dropping. About an hour after they left another truck showed up and a guy stabbed probes into the street in several places. After his assessment he got back in his truck and left. It was about 8:00 pm and completely dark other than the street light and my house lights. We’ll see how it turns our tomorrow since it is supposed to be a high of only 40 degrees tomorrow.

  • Rose

Day is going good. I walked to town to get milk at the nearby Whole Foods. I found two packages of chicken breast at 50% off, so I was very excited about that, as things cost too much there to buy otherwise. Now to find a recipe or two.

  • Kate Sarsfield

I was going to do more painting today but got very little sleep again & it’s turned cold so went back to bed. Managed a couple of hours sleep by which time it was almost dark so just did a bit of weeding. Found my swimming costumes & hats! They still fit so that’ll save me some money.

  • Michele Soyer

Two of my galpals have birthdays today, one I have to reach by phone but the other is my neighbor so later on I will deliver a bit of birthday cheer to her..other then that I only have to cook, paint, read and basically enjoy my day, my way!

  • heather

I am listening to last nights nightly news and I gotta say…. They talk way too fast it’s like listening to auctioneers! Gets on my nerves! Today I am catching up on laundry and housework.

  • l p

the day is going well. out to do some volunteering and then spent the rest of the day at home, resting. tomorrow’s going to be busy. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

Since 10 this morning I have listened to a smoke alarm go off every minute. I am ready to stick a fork in my ear, lol. Seriously, ARGHHHHH! My nephew tried changing the battery, didn’t work. It started again after he left. Clearly, it’s the alarm itself. My brother is coming by after work to just turn it off. That can’t happen too soon for me!

I did comment but it seems to have disappeared so here I go again: morning spent checking out vacuum cleaner prices, then the sun came out so did a load of laundry & weeded the garden.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Spent the morning checking out prices for vacuum cleaners 🙁 then the sun came out so did a load of washing then weeding. There’s still a lot of growth going on, despite the time of year.

Had a lovely day out yesterday – why does it feel so good to spend money?? LOL..I did stay in budget and only the list.. except for…. well things I just could not resist for presents…there were a few things I totally forgot about also.. – to remedy this I am going out again on Tuesday…
Late but better get that roast in the oven.. it is slightly snowing and with the bit we got last night it looks so pretty out….Wishing you all a very pleasant Sunday!

  • heather

I am sooooo relaxing today been running around all week. I am doing some laundry, eating and holding down the couch as much as I can. lol

  • Cathy L

Today was nice around 70, tomorrow should be the same – then Mon and Tues we are dropping way down to the low 40s for highs and 20s for lows…. before heading back up into the 60s after that.

the day is going well. was at a workshop all morning – learned lots and met up with friends I have ‘visited’ with over the Internet during/since COVID. so it was great to see they weren’t hologrammes. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

And now my vacuum cleaner has died. It started to make a funny noise, I unplugged it & took it apart. There was a wire loose so reattached it, gave it a clean & put it back together again. No luck. Mind you, it’s nearly 40 years old & it was a hand-me-down from my sister, so it’s cost me nothing. Don’t have the money to replace it 🙁 so AGHHHHHHH!

  • Michele Soyer

Getting ready to go out shopping…it is 31 degrees out this morning so I shall layer up and get moving! Happy weekend to you all!!

  • heather

Just waking up here and making my list of things that I need to get done today. I have to do some running around and then I am going to finish watching the movie Weapons. I started watching the movie last night but I was too tired to stay up late it looks pretty good it’s a supernatural horror film.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Was still awake at 7am so got up & headed to Ballina, the nearest big town, to check out the municipal swimming pool. I used to regularly swim 50 lengths a couple of times a week but then life, house moves, job moves & finally dislocating my knee put an end to all that. If I can find & fit into a swimmimg cozzie, I’m going to go every Fri. afternoon, then do the weekly shopping. There’s a sauna & jacuzzi, but best of all SHOWERS!!!!! Honestly, we take so much for granted & only miss them when we can’t have them anymore. AND, I qualify for half price, now I’m a pensioner! Method in my madness, darlings, method in my madness!

the day is going well. the furnace decided to act up so I’m waiting for the repair person. better that it happened earlier than later in the year. my little space heater is working very well. I’m grateful I bought it when I did. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Cathy L

Looking forward to this weekend. Everyone will be here for a big Sunday dinner just like every Sunday. Nothing better than the family being together and appreciating each other. Lord knows I am so grateful for my grown children.

No sitting on the patio today! It is quite a bit chilly and raw…making lists for a trip out tomorrow – want to stop at Target, Home Goods etc – looking for the perfect gift wrap for a birthday gift and all my Christmas wrap and ribbon to make bows – if I start now I will make all the bows I need…should also stop by a shoppe that sells hallmark cards – 2 birthdays coming up and some Thanksgiving cards – people do not send cards much I think it is still a lovely gesture….it takes me so little of my time to pick out the just perfect card and get holiday stamps to pretty up the envelope!
    Happy Friday all!

  • heather

I have a bunch of driving and running around to do today not to thrilled about it. Hope you have a good day. I need to make something easy for dinner tonight.

  • l p

the day is going well. it was pretty chilly first thing this morning as I ran a bunch of errands. kept me moving, that for sure! there hasn’t been much change throughout the day so I’m glad I was able to stay at home once arriving here. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Kate Sarsfield

I lay in bed this morning watching Melyn (the big ginger tomcat who has adopted me). Melyn means yellow/gold/honey in Welsh. He sat on the roof of my car for over an hour just watching the world go by. I often wonder what goes on in his head.

A beautiful Fall day here today, too. Wanting an easy, simple dinner today – So, I am putting everything for Mississippi Chicken in the crockpot. Will serve on buns.

I am listening to the Bob and Tom Show at the moment and reading my emails. I got very patchy sleep last night becase coyotes were howling up the hill from us and they kept waking me up all night long.

  • Steven Blaser

Life is good. I recycled stuff today and bought my Powerball tickets. I am ready to check my tickets in a few minutes.

  • Tamra Phelps

I agree with Michele. Today was a relly nice Fall day. Not too cold, for once. You can sort of smell the leaves in the breeze. Very Fall.

  • Kate Sarsfield

What a day! Crap from start to finish. Quite literally crap. Specifically cat crap. Besides my own lot, at the rescue centre about 20 of the 60 cats & kittens were wormed yesterday. So, like I said, crap.

  • Michele Soyer

It is a glorious fall day out today…if I didn’t have more packages coming today I would go out – I might just dress warmly and sit on the patio with my book!

  • heather

Just getting the house going this morning and listening to the news think I should just go back to bed. lol Hope you have a great ‘over the hump’ day.

  • Steven Blaser

Getting stuff done! Paid property taxes, downloaded 2025 tax program, and entered most of the data necessary to file taxes. Now I know where I stand financially.

  • Kate Sarsfield

Got a bit more decorating done & then outside into the lovely Autumn sunshine for a bit of weeding. Going to pop a pasta bake in the oven soon.

  • Tamra Phelps

My cousin is being buried tomorow. I won’t get to be there, but my brother and his wife are going, so I get some comfort from that. There is nothing like going through funerals to fill you with disgust at what a for profit industry the so-called ‘death industry’ has become.

  • Michele Soyer

Lots of deliveries today so have to stay put.. Other than that a few loads of laundry and hoovering and I am done for the day…again feeling so grateful for the life I have now….

  • heather

I was up at 3:30 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Still dark out here I am just warming up the house and thinking of all the things that I need to do today. Have a good day out there.

  • Kathy Bommer

I had a great day! My brother and I drove from New Jersey to Florida to visit my daughter & family. I arrived today and am so happy!

  • Tamra Phelps

It’s been a slow day. Strange when time falls back in November, it seems like days are so short but drag on forever, lol.

  • l p

the day is going well. bread-baking and treats day. I was able to take some of the candy left over from Halloween into some sweet yeast breads. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Well I am taking a break now..Friday night went to a theatre in town for the 50th annivesary of Rocky Horror..what a great time – 50 years since my husband and I saw it in the Village …all the costumes..lolThen Saturday started out early to go for the last day at the Apple Orchard – bought 3 pecks of different varieties, then on to the largest candy store in Mn..saw candy there i have not seen since i was a kid and that was many many moons ago…they also had a great selection of homemade chutneys and pickled veggies – a bakery and also gourmet goodies…not done yest on to the large Asian supermarket, bought all sorts of groceries there…now time to take a break and have lunch…ready to fo again..last stop was a , once again, huge liquor shoppe .. why is everything so huge in Mn??? lol…amazing selection of everything so of course picked up a few things…yesterday processed about 2 pecks of apples for applesauce, apple butter and a few small loaves of apple cupcakes to share with my neighbors..sterilized all the sauce and butter…this morning took all the halloween decorations down, boxed them for next year and put up fall lights and decorations…to be honest I am a bit tired so soup, salad and fruit for lunch ….I also think I deserve an appletini!!! Happy November all….

  • Kate Sarsfield

It’s a public holiday today. It’s weirdly warm but very windy & wet – the remnants of Hurricane Melissa. Not much planned for today (plenty of things I could be doing but I’m going to have a rest day).

  • heather

Yahtzee! So glad to see the giveaway form is working this morning. I am still trying to get used to the time change thought we were ending this nightmare? I am doing work around the house today did a bunch of running around yesterday. Hope you have a nice Monday.

  • Jon Heil

Relaxing day and doing some office work and invoices, but playing a lot of the outer worlds 2 and tons of great streaming series to watch! Making sunday great again!

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, the giveaway form hasn’t flipped over to a new day for me, lol. I see others are having an issue…possily the same thing??

  • heather

Looks like Giveaway Tools is jacked up this morning. It’s not just you it’s not working on other blogs either. I will try back later today. I have to run to the grocery store to grab a few things. We are always out of milk.

  • Tamra Phelps

November has me depressed already. My brother called early this morning to tell me one of our youngest cousins, just 53, had died. I have cried off and on all day. He was the baby and was a big part of our childhood. Some days, it seems everyone is slipping away.

  • l p

the day is going well. busy night last night with many goblins and ghosts and all sorts of costumes I didn’t recognise. as longs as they all had fun and stayed safe. it’s a chilly day today so I’m staying in. enjoy your week-end. thanks

  • Elizabeth

Bowed out of Halloween because my mom and I bunged up our knees and couldn’t run for the door…the bowl of candy we put out vaporized within 15 minutes…

  • Shelly Peterson

I can’t belive it’s already Novemver. I am not ready for the snow thats coming soon. Today is a lazy day for me.

  • Cathy L

From Nov 1st to the end of the year, times goes by way too fast. We have Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all 3 of my daughters’ birthdays squeezed in there too. But I love it 🙂

  • heather

Happy November 1st! This year is just going so fast I can’t keep up. Hope you had a nice Halloween. I had to go to Walmart and it was spooky. They were playing the music from the movie The Omen and it freaked me out!
