Three Convincing Reasons Why Your Family Needs to Vacation in San Antonio With an RV
Think vacationing in an RV is out of your reach? Think again!
From buying new or used RVs to renting them on sites like Outdoorsy, it’s easier than it has ever been before to pack up the whole family and hit the road in an RV.
If you’ve never stayed in an RV, though, you may feel intimidated. Just because you haven’t done something before doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try!
Here are four convincing reasons why you should vacation in San Antonio in an RV.
You’ll Save a Ton of Money
When it comes to vacationing with family, things can get expensive fast. And the more family members you’re traveling with, the more expensive it’s going to get.
Traveling in an RV is a good way to keep costs down. That’s because there are a number of ways you can save money when you travel in an RV:
- Hotel costs: Hotels can cost $200 or more each night. Parking in an RV Resort can cost less than $20. Renting an RV is an especially good idea if you would otherwise have to rent more than one room to accommodate everyone in your party.
- Food: With a mobile kitchen, you can cook some or all of your meals yourself instead of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on food.
- Activities: Many RV parks have pools, and some are located near natural areas that can be explored for free.
It’s More Flexible Than Staying in a Hotel
What if you decide you want to go to Austin? Or maybe Dallas? If you’re traveling in an RV, you don’t have to stay in Texas at all!
The great thing about staying in an RV is your ability to leave at any time. Whether you plan to hop around or you just wake up one day and decide to drive, it’s a lot easier in an RV. If you stay in multiple hotels, you’ll spend a good chunk of your vacation checking in, checking out, packing, and unpacking.
Your Home Away From Home
It isn’t uncommon for people to report feeling uncomfortable in hotels. That can lead to lost sleep, which is the last thing you want when you’re on vacation!
An RV feels more like your home away from home. There are plenty of wonderful decorating and design ideas that are perfect for RV owners, but even renters will find an RV feels more homey.
You get to sleep in a familiar bed every night, you have access to your own kitchen, and you can bring as many friends and family along as you like. You can even bring along your furry friend without having to check with the hotel first!
Staying in an RV may seem intimidating at first, but you’ll soon find it’s a great way to spend your vacation. Take the plunge and plan your next family vacation in an RV and you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime.

The only thing I hated about caravanning around the west of Ireland was that year we all caught a tummy bug. Four ill people in an enclosed space with just the one toilet – it was not pleasant!
Jennifer Boehme
This would be so fun, and money saving. I like the RV travelling, you avoid the bed bugs on the beds and other things like someone opening your door at 1am trying to rob…they did this to my mom in a hotel last year. She said Bates Motel came to her thoughts when the door opened…the girl ran off when mom screamed. Hotel said they are robbed of things like remotes all the time, they didn’t care.
James Robert
I just love everything about having an RV, they sound like so much fun.
Tamra Phelps

Tamra Phelps
Kate’s right. Living in an RV would definitely save money, lol.
Kate Sarsfield
I’d like to live in an RV permanently! Think of the money you’d save: no property tax, no huge garden to maintain, no painting of walls, fences & gates, no replacing the driveway, just insurance to cover the vehicle, the cost of fuel & food. Hang on, no garden … hmm … might have to rethink this one!
James Robert
I so want one and it reminds me daily seeing this post…lol
Tamra Phelps
I doubt my ability to drive an RV, lol. BUT, if someone else drives, I’d be all in.
Kate Sarsfield
I really like the idea of being able to just move to wherever my heart desires without the hassle of pre-booking rooms etc.
