Watch The Birdie! By Nancy Cote
Books, books, books. I love reviewing kids books. Reinforcing 4-year-old Alice’s love of reading will never get tiring for me. I am so thankful for SkyPony publishing. They supply Alice and I with so many wonderful books!! We would be hard pressed to pick a favorite, however, this one! It’s a definite top 5.
Watch The Birdie, written and illustrated by Nancy Côte is a wonderful addition to our library! This book helps with Alice’s observation skills (keeping track of the cat!) it helps Alice understand each characters strong points. Like the rabbit being able to jump high!
The story is super cute! Mousey makes it his mission to help a little birdie that has fallen from the nest get back home. Poor little birdie can’t fly yet!! And poor Mousey can’t get birdie back to the nest without help! Maybe the snail can help? Or maybe the rabbit? Maybe the frog? Will Mousey be able to save the birdie from the quickly approaching cat??? YES!! Thanks to a very heroic act!!
Nancy Côte has done a great job with the illustration’s that accompany this adorable book. The illustrations are FUN, bright and engaging. Cote has written a book that highlights bravery and friendship. The perfect book to help teach kids the value of asking for help and equally as importantly the value of being a good friend.
Watch the Birdie is perfect for ages 3 to 6.

It’s like The Rescuers – loved that film! My sister and I went after school one Friday. I had a HUGE knickerbocker glory as well & I was sick on the bus on the way home! Ah, happy days!

ps: a knick … glory is a huge, tall, ice cream & fruit sundae with all the trimmings!

This looks like a super cute and fun book! It sort of remind me of “Are You My Mother?” by Dr. Suess. 🙂 This is definitely one all 3 of my littles would love!
