Les Saisons! French For Kids Series! Review AND Giveaway Too!!
Personally, I wish I knew a different language, if for no other reason than to talk freely around the kids!! I have tried to learn other languages but I get lazy. Kids though? Holy MOLY kids pick up a new language so quickly! So, while they are little introduce them to a new language!! I highly recommend Whistlefritz!! The new series for kids is awesome!! Alice chose to review French for Kids. Les Saisons (The Seasons). Whistlefritz CD’s and DVD’s are EASY and FUN ways for kids to learn a new language!I’m not the only one that thinks so! Their awards are many! From Parents’ Choice, Mom’s Choice, Mr. Dad, The Dove Foundation, NAPPA and KIDS FIRST! The folks over at Booklist have praised them as “perfect for both school and home settings.” Alice, Emma, Eli and myself gave 8 thumbs UP for On Va Jouer (Let’s Play) because it fun and keeps the kids focused! The On Va Jouer DVD’s combined live action, animation, interactive skits and music. The recently released DVD Les Saisons brings Marie and Fritzi together again!! From dancing to singing along. Leonard’s Beard By Nancy Cote
Christmas gift idea for any child!! Especially under the age of 6; pick up Leonard’s Beard!! I love giving books for Christmas!! I love encouraging kids to read and be read to. (is that right? read and read? Hello Google? I mean Sarah!?) Alice and I are HUGE fans of Nancy Cote since we read Watch The Birdie! It’s a book that still gets read OFTEN!! It’s a big hit in our house. I have to admit Leonard’s Beard truly has to be one of MY personal favorites!! This book is so cute and so much fun to read!! In his house up on a hill Leonard writes stories. He stays in his house day and night with just his frog and his dog. Leonard only writes day and night. He doesn’t go out. He doesn’t visit his friends or family. The more that Leonard writes the more unruly, wild and super long his beard becomes. So while Leonard fills pages and pages of stories his life becomes more boring because all he does is write. The Ghosts Go Scaring An Early Reader Book
I have great respect for teachers! HOLY MOLY kids are … ummm… use tact here Connie…. they are a UNIQUE breed. There. That will work. 5-year-olds want to do what they WANT to do and only WHEN they want to do it. So having a room full of them? No THANK YOU!! It makes me wonder how Mrs. Dow and Mrs. Bentley don’t come out of the kindergarten class room looking like this: Instead they come out all calm, sweet and full of smiles. Amazing! Cause this WOULD be me!! Even with all those little bodies teachers manage to kids math, reading, manners, art and so much more!! One of the things that I am very pleased with is reading. Yes, Alice and I had been learning to read and learning sight words and such, but now? HOLY MOLY!! Each week the kids bring home a small reading book. These are Xeroxed copies of short books with very repetitive wording. This is a brilliant strategy because it reinforces the sight words. When The Ghosts Go Scaring arrived I was giddy!!
