1byOne Video Doorbell Review
I’ve told you before that our neighborhood has changed dramatically in the past 30 years. When we moved in this was a quiet and safe neighborhood, now…. not so much. We do everything we can to keep our home and family safe. We have an alarm system. We have a video camera on the front porch. Now we have a really COOL device for even more added security. This is a Video Door Phone. Not just a video doorbell but a video intercom. This works great day and night with wonderful picture quality. This is not wireless, it’s definitely not a replacement for our old doorbell. This door phone required some work. I’m very thankful that The Husband is an electrician because this was above my skill set. I wanted no wires showing when this was set up so installation did take a trip into the attic for The Husband. 1byone includes plenty of wire (45 feet worth!) to go from the front porch (in the attic) to the wall in our family room. The Husband drilled a hole on the front porch to the inside of the garage. He snaked the wire up the wall to the attic. From…

A Compressed History of the Mattress
Many people think of the mattress as a relatively new invention, but even primitive man found ways to try to sleep comfortably at night. Here, we explore a compressed history of bedding and the mattress. The Early Years In the Neolithic period 10,000 years ago, primitive beds and mattresses were used. The beds were actually raised in order to stay off of the ground and avoid pests. These mattresses were made of leaves, straw, and grass and covered by animal skins. The Romans While Persians used water-filled goat skins to sleep on and Egyptians utilized palm leaves in heaps, the Romans designed mattresses out of bags of cloth. They stuffed these with wool, reeds, or hay. If they were particularly wealthy, they filled the cloth with feathers and decorated the bed with bronze, silver, or gold. The Renaissance The 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries saw mattresses covered in velvets, silks, and brocades. People would stuff the mattresses made out of coarse ticks with shucks from peas, straw, or feathers if they were wealthy. The 18th Century This century saw mattresses fill with wool or cotton and start to take on the box shape we recognize today. Fillings started to include…

4 Piece Striped Brushed Microfiber Bed Sheets Review #Mellanni
If you think about the amount of time you sleep or are supposed to sleep in a year that’s one third of your life!! If you average eight hours of sleep a night and you live to be 75 you’ve slept away 25 years! Wait… what? TWENTY FIVE YEARS?!?! Writing it out like that I really do (and will) spend a lot of time in bed! No wonder I’m so far behind!! Since I’m going to spend YEARS in bed I want to do so in comfort. Soft sheets are a must for me. I was excited to be given the opportunity to review a set of Mellanni sheets. This is a four piece set of microfiber and soft bed sheets. These sheets feel like a mix between thick cotton and flannel. They are nice. The color is Gray/Silver stripped and has a very elegant look and feel to them! The fitted sheet has a nice deep corner pocket that would easily fit a deeper mattress. The top sheet is wide enough to hang off the side of the bed or get tucked in; depending on your preferences. The husband likes his side tucked in nice and tight. Me? I…
