Vet says he won’t stop growing until a year/year and a half. Good thing that he is a gentle giant and minds really, REALLY well.

    10 days without rain! The Government will probably announce a drought if this continues! Ireland is just not used to nice weather. Today I saved a robin and 3 butterflies from the feline jaws of death.

    the day is going well. baking bread/rolls today to keep me somewhat sane. I’m waiting for the delivery of the new washer/dryer. lots of cleaning and clearing over the week-end but I think I’m finally ready (fingers crossed). enjoy your day. thanks.

    the day is going well. went out for a walk before volunteering this morning. I’m grateful that I don’t have an electric alarm clock. the power went out at 2 am and stayed off until 6:30 due to “trees interfering with the lines”. lots to do with what’s left in the day so had better hop to it. enjoy your day. thanks

    Gardening, gardening & yet more gardening! We get so little decent weather it’d be a sin to stay inside doing housework. Rang my sister to sing Happy Birthday. She’s back in Green Valley, Tucson helping her friend whose eye surgery didn’t go well. He’s only 62 & his eyesight is deteriorating. He’s also got prostrate cancer to deal with.

    It has been a rocky morning here so far. Our power went out for zero reason and finally just came back on. I am almost done resetting all the clocks. Our power goes out all of the time for zero reason. There is no wind there is no storm oh and we paid our bill and it was a lot $$$ so keep it on! I am going to still have a nice day now that we get to turn the air conditioner on in this heat.

    Happy Sunday all! Had a really good time last night, enjoyed the band and my neighbors singing…Stayed out a bit late but why not??
    Going to be in the high 90’s today so no outside walking…will watch mass on utube and thats about it…an easy Sunday lunch is my only cooking today…

    A nice day today before another heat wave. I have the slow cooker cranked up making chicken with carrots and potatoes. Going to get as much done as possible, as once it is over 90 degrees in here, you cannot do much.

    the day is going well. was at a memorial service today. it was lovely. there was so much information given in the eulogy – I only knew them for a snapshot of their life. I wish we could have memorial services before the person died. you learn so much about them and I would love to chat with them about their life. enjoy your day/weekend. thanks

    Gorgeous day here today, hot but there is a breeze. It is decent to get some things done, made a batch of bread for the week, did some mending chopping veggies. I tried using Depop first to get a pair of shorts for only a few dollars including shipping, so that is cool.

    Been sitting around since I woke up! I did put a few loads in the washer… Since we are going out this evening to a club to hear our neighbor sing I am just to continue to sit and read….Kate got my heels ready for tonight – not red- white to match the season..LOL

    It’s 8.45am and not a single wink of sleep to be had ๐Ÿ™ Too hot & restless even though I was tired after a busy day in the garden. Going to get up & get washed, head into town for groceries and new rollers for painting, potting compost and maybe a pair of working/hiking type leather boots in a sale if I can find a pair to fit over my flipping bunion. Too much dancing in stillettos, Michele! I fancy a long tall glass of something alcoholic later so maybe buy a bottle of Pimms or Southern Comfort as a treat (after I have a long nap first of course!).

    Wow Friday already. Glad I got up pretty early, before 5. As long as there is coffee, I’m up for it. Just washed 5 lbs of Russet potatoes, and looking at recipes for ideas. Nothing too fussy.

    Took a 4 mile walk today with packages so I am ready to sit and relax…Walked to our local Mn grocery. the to Home Goods and the Dollar Tree…Must admit I was loaded with packages but that is what shoulders are for!! Had a great time .. now to sit and enjoy the afternoon with a single malt Kate….hope everyone njoys their afternoon…

    the day is going well. not much sleep last night – a car alarm went off about 2 AM and the owner didn’t respond until 7:30. I’m sure the battery is completely drained. today I’m working on finding the top of my desk and later, I shall call some friends who have birthdays today. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

    the day is going well. out early for grocery shopping; also took my neighbour’s list. still working on prepping the space for the new laundry appliances. I’ve a little grace on that part – they changed delivery to Monday so I have the weekend as well. enjoy your day. thanks

    Beautiful sunny morning I should take a long walk but something tells me to stay put – I always listen to that little voice…advice from mom..LOL so after a session of ironing that has piled up and a quick vacuum have to catch up on my art history lessons – tomorrow I really need to get out!!

    My first few times using FB Marketplace is making a big difference. Zilch on the local FB group for buying / selling, and people active on marketplace. I still am only selling things that I can do from our lobby, rather than from my unit. Finally heat wave is over, that was very scary to have it 93 degrees in my unit for days, it took me a few days to feel back to normal, too.

    Simon, the plumber, rang today as he was in the area. I had 5 mins to get out of bed, get dressed, splash water on my face and look somewhat respectable! He’s fixed the toilet & sink and will do the shower hopefully (he said) before the end of the month. Just a matter of co-ordinating his schedule with that of an electrician. Wouldn’t take any payment for the work done today, he’ll add it to the final invoice. He reckons on โ‚ฌ600 to dig out the old shower, fix the pipes & drainage underneath, replace everything etc. I’m prepared to spend up to 5K (but didn’t tell him that)! Tamra, Michele & Connie: any chance you could join me for the first shower? I’ll put the bubbly on ice!

    Planning on a 2 mile walk to our local supermarket for a few items then looked at the sky and said NO.. black as night out there and thunder is rolling…glad I stayed put….spinach quiche in the oven.Bloody Marys made and in the frig fruit salad also in the frig just waiting for my galpal..oh and music on to keep the vibe ….

    In a way, we were lucky it has rained since July 4. We have a flat roof and people setting off firecrackers can land on the roof, which is right over my head. It stopped raining late last night. The temp finally went down to 77 degrees in my unit, from 92. Whew!

    Mum would have been 93 today. She died almost 6 years ago & I miss her every single day. Anyway, my hand was hurting like hell this morning so decided against plastering & mowed the lawns instead. I’ve got a plumber calling in on Thursday to see what needs to be done etc. Cross everything, folks!

    One of my home health aides, who comes by to help with housework, etc., told me she pulled into her drive the other evening only to see a huge hawk trying to fly off with her new kitten! She jumped out and ran toward it, and I guess scared the bird, because he dropped the kitten! Wow! Kitty is an indoor cat for now.

    Here it is half 10 and i have gotton nothing accomplished!! LOL…the lawn men came so I have to get out there and clean my windows from all the dust and debris…also i plan on getting a flat of flowers and putting them around the trees..     Hope you all enjoyed celebrating Independence Day! Completely forgot about it till now. I’ve started on the plastering in the hall. Poor cats don’t know what’s happening! It takes time between all the separate coats so it won’t be finished till mid-week, then 7 – 10 days to ‘cure’, then painting.

    Finally have windows open for a while It is still 87 degrees in here, better than before by a degree, but heat wave is over. This building retains the heat, and also the failed roof over my head the wet insulation causes it to not protect from the heat. Just getting a few things done, nothing too ambitious, as this heat wave hit kind of hard. A thunderstorm happened suddenly last night so fast that some fireworks were still going off and also lightning and thunder, it was sometimes hard to tell which was which!

    Pleasant time at the BBQ and did leave early…Sat down and watched Hamilton .. so enjoyed it…thunderstrom last night caused havoc with the fireworks but they managed to do it in spite of the weather – was able to watch on my patio with the rain pouring down!
    This morning looks beautiful so I might take a turn around the property before mass….Pleasant Sunday all!!

    Obviously, everyone else has been seeing this for days, but it just popped up for me today. Weird. I got so worried about poor Connie that I went and messaged her about being worried because I hadn’t heard a peep from her in days! I was checking the blog every day and nothing new was popping up–I was thinking poor Connie was ill. Glad it was just likely my browser. I hope George is doing better, Connie!

    Almost ready to go up for the BBQ at half 1pm…apparently the “salad” volunteers didn’t get their ingredients in time so……………….I have made cole slaw, potato salad and macaroni salad…an olive tampenade and brownies and blondies…A bloody Mary would go very well right now!
    Not planning on staying long want to get back to my book and a televised presenattion of Hamilton!

    Next time I shop Amazon I will definitely go thru PB&W!! Easy peasy. I always have a few things in my cart waiting for the one last item to get free shipping. It has been a big heat wave and no AC, it is in the 90s no let up, hopefully tomorrow the temps will go down. I’m on a top floor with an old flat roof over my head and it is hotter in my unit than outside. So I have two fans going. And dinking lots of sugar-free drinks.

    I might, just might have found a plumber. Nothing definite yet – he’s going to try to squeeze me into his schedule. The older I get, the more I think that I should have gone for something like being a plumber or electrician, instead of University. These guys (and some women) are so few on the ground that they can charge their own rates, are always in demand – I mean, they’re raking it in!

    Had a lovely time yesterday and ending the shopping with a stop at the food co-op for organic honey and some carrot orange juice made my day…lunch an dthen home and in for the weekend…waiting to hear what is wanted for the BBQ ..off to read and enjoy the day!

    I’m back in my fingerless gloves! I’m flipping cold and Raynaud’s plus arthritis in my hands is no fun. However, tomorrow, I plan to try to plaster a big space in the hallway where the plaster had come away. There’s a radiator in front of it now so that reduces the amount to do and I’ve bought ready-mixed plaster to save the mess of mixing my own. YouTube is wonderful! If/when it’s done & ‘cured’, I can finally finish painting the hall. Maybe even put down carpet tiles …
