$50 Your Way June 2026 Giveaway!

June 2026’s Giveaway! But first, here is my catch up from May. It was a weird month up here on the mountain. The last week or so we are back to 50 degrees, raining and cold. We had one night with a lightning storm the likes I’ve never seen before, Mother Nature put on a hell-of-a-show. We didn’t lose power, however all the breakers tripped.

Amazing, is that as loud and bright as the lightning was Walter slept through the entire thing.

Also, since I mentioned Sir Walter, 4 months old and he officially weighs 60.1 pounds. Oh HOLY MOLY! He’s a big boy.

Walter enjoyed his very first pup-cup. Happy, happy boy.

I hope you all had an excellent May. But, I sure hope that June is MUCH better.

Now for the real reason you are here.

Yes, I do copy and paste from here on in. What can I say, I’m basically lazy.

Totally legit. Mildly dramatic.

Iโ€™d love it if you came back often, hung out a bit, and clicked around. In fact, looking at more than one page really helps me keep this little corner of the internet alive. Similarly, extra ad clicks are always appreciated and quietly celebrated.

  • heather

I wasn’t able to leave a comment yesterday I was worried that it was just me. Can’t believe it’s the last day of June alread. I have been cleaning out the pantry today checking all those expiration dates.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

The cats kept me awake tilll 4am then some construction work began just down the road. They’re building a wall at the front of their property but bulldozers at 8.30am is not appreciated! Had a pneumonia jab this morning and am feeling so tired I’m going for a nap.

  • Michele Soyer

Have no idea wher my comment from yesterday went but I shall try this again..LOL today is another stormy day so inside for me…tryin gto get some paperwork done but both cats are sitting on the desk with me pushing all the papers around…gotta love them..I give up I will play with them! Good day to all!

  • l p

the day is going well. volunteering this morning and was reaquainted with a fomer volunteer who moved away 7 years ago. they came with their family and it was so nice to meet all of them. lots of phone calls to make this eveninig. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

It’s 20 degrees less than during the week and I’m feeling cold! Managed to save my strawberry harvest from the storms so I’ll be feasting all week. The taste is like nothing you’d get from a supermarket – divine!

  • heather

I am listening to my Sunday morning worship music on my Christian radio station. I love the music that they play on Sunday mornings. Hope you all have a blessed day out there.

  • Michele Soyer

Dark and stormy out this morning…no rain as yet just all the drama…Staying put again today I do not want to get caught trying to get an uber after mass….nothing to do but cook and read and listen to music! Happy Sunday all

  • Tamra Phelps

It’s been rain, rain, rain here all week. At least today it was rain and not actual storms. The storms always make me worry the power will go out. Ugh.

  • l p

the day is going well. a friend mentioned seeing a new chocolate shop and wanted to go – so we did. it’s a lovely little place with very knowledgeable staff. I could spend the weekend there but home chores were calling. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

The worst thunder & lightning I’ve ever seen yesterday evening! The noise was deafening. The farmers are working 24hr shifts trying to get the silage cut (grass from the fields that’s baled up ready for winter feeding) and that’s disturbing the field mice – hence the recent activity. At 6am, the big ginger tom, Melynn, was calling loudly outside. I thought he just wanted in but no, he wanted his 2 mates to join him. I let them out, then noticed that Melynn had his paw on a mouse. He gave the mouse to little Bryn to finish off! Never seen that before from a male to another male. It’s usually mothers to kittens.

  • Michele Soyer

I found out there is an art gallery I never was aware of in St Peter so plan on taking a trip there today!
This evening out with my friend for cocktails.. Good times….

  • heather

I slept like a rock last night sure needed it. I am just sticking around the house today and cleaning hope you have a nice day out there.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Huge thunder & lightning storm yesterday evening but still a very humid night. Not nice. Today’s a little cooler thank goodness. Ireland isn’t made for the heat!

  • heather

Happy Friday to all hope you have a nice one. We got some much needed rain last night sure hope we get some more today.

  • Michele Soyer

Rain is coming this afternoon so going out to plant some panseys, petunias, violas and portulacas after another cup of coffee….Happy Friday all!

  • l p

the day is going well. up and out early to take advantage of a sale; spent the rest of the morning trying to make appointments. who ever said computers make our lives easier? finally got all my ducks in a row. Connie, I hope your birthday celebrations exceeded you expectations. enjoy your day, everyone. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

I am having a heck of a time posting here so i don’t know if your birthday wishes came though, but all the best if they didn’t…
spent a few hours early at the soup kitchen serving breakfast and now I am trying to figure out therst of my day…doing some furntiure polishing and then sweeping out the patios and feedingthe rabbits ….

  • heather

Connie, hope you had a nice birthday and remember it’s your birthday week all week long. I can’t wait to see the bobcat on the trail cam.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

The mouse was discovered at 4am and thankfully quickly dispatched, poor thing. Not sure which cat was responsible, I just heard the noise & found the mouse by the toilet. Today’s due to be the hottest day ever in Ireland, hitting 91.9! Nearest to this was back in the 1800s.

  • l p

the day is going well. Happy Birthday, Connie. I hope your day is filled with love, fun, good surprises, and relief from pain. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Happy Birthday Connie! George? You’d better spoil her rotten or else!

Help!!! I’ve got a mouse loose in the house! One of the cats brought one in, strutting really proudly, laid it down & the damn thing was still alive – cue 3 cats chasing it round the room. Oh, and I was naked at the time! I had to go out for a couple of hours & I haven’t been able to find the mouse (or even it’s remains) since ๐Ÿ™

  • Michele Soyer

Getting that trail cam Connie, last night a rather large racoon was walking on my patio.. when he or she saw me looking out they froze then took off down the woody path that the rabbits and even the coyote take! well it is a lovely day so after a load of laundry out for a walk…

  • Tamra Phelps

Kate, I just realized what you need! Have you seen those lawn mowers that are similar to the robot vacuums?? It just mows all the time and keeps the lawn mowed, lol. Of course, I bet the cats would hate it!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I did it! I mowed all the grass, front, back & 2 sides and all in under an hour (including water breaks)! Such a difference from the 4+ hours it would take with the little electric mower. The new one is heavy though, ‘cos of the battery for the electric starter so gets a bit of getting used to and may not suit when I’m in my 80s! I’m visiting the rescue centre tomorrow & taking a couple of boxes of cat food with me. I’m not sure if I’m fit enough to go back volunteering yet, but it’ll be nice to catch up.

  • l p

the day is going well. spent the morning volunteering. walking there and back on my usual route. for some reason, there seems to be 3 times more people out walking. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

Just got in the door and boy is it heating up outside here right now. I am sunburned from driving and need to put something on my arm. Stay cool out there and have a nice day.

  • Michele Soyer

It is so warm and lovely out this morning but am waiting for a delivery that must be signed for…hopefully it will arrive soon, I need to walk to the volunteer center to drop off schedules and see if they have any more appts to make for seniors an d the disabled…. I really think all this can be done via emails and plan on mentioning this to the supervisor…I do miss working in the soup kitchen – one day a week will have to suffice..

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Had a Covid booster this morning & booked a pneumonia booster jab for next week. Spent the next few hours trying to find a plumber. It’s proving impossible so far – they’re either booked up months in advance or are employed by the construction industry.

  • heather

It’s been a Monday so far! Just got in the door and driving home was another odyssey! I have to drive on rural roads to get home and it’s like Mad Max out there and seeing a cop on that road is like spotting a unicorn! I am going to go outside and kiss the ground again. Need to take a serious break now.

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day so I’m busy. as always, the place is filled with a wonderful fragrance. looking forward to a quiet evening. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

Honetly, I’m sitting here tthinking about shaving my head, just going full Sinead O’Connor! I am just that fed up with shampooing and trying to keep it in any kind of fit to be seen style, lol.

  • l p

the day is going well. after a morning of volunteering, I was asked to go for lunch with them. had a great time and wonderful food. leftovers are safely stored in the freezer. Happy Summer. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I got the new mower started! Did just a bit as it was too hot & I was tired but will do more tomorrow. Painted a 2nd coat of forest green on the shed & got some weeding done. Next door’s little Yorkshire terrier got into the house, ate all the wet cat food leftovers & kicked over the dry food bowls. Had to vacuum it all up – what a bloody waste ๐Ÿ™

  • Michele Soyer

After cat sitting my neighbor came for awhile and we had a lovely chat and a cocktail to end the evening – very peasant…sitting here so grateful and content.. lasagna in the oven salad to make and a lovely strawberry dessert for later.. guava too heavy.. grateful is all i can say…

  • heather

Happy first day of Summer to everyone and also Happy Father’s Day! I have been up all night taking care of a loved one so I will be staying home too tired to drive.

  • Shelly Peterson

Today was a very uneventful day. the weather has been getting hotter and my a/c doesn’t work very well. ๐Ÿ˜’

  • l p

the day is going well. a nice surprise when I woke up. it was forecast to be wet and windy for today and tomorrow. instead it was bright sunshine with a soft breeze. got out early to go to the farmers’ markets. thank you Mother Nature. enjoy your day/week-end. thanks

  • heather

Just made a trip to the library had a bunch of stuff to return and new items to pick up. Now finishing up the laundry before it gets too hot out.

  • Michele Soyer

Glad that I am home today doing some last minute cat sitting.. same little girl as last time…she is so good..so my day will be reading, and watching little miss…Happy Saturday all!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

We’re in for a couple of nice days so the plan is to paint the little garden shed today & leave the lawn to dry out a bit. Had some of my homegrown strawberries for breakfast – beautiful!

  • Tamra Phelps

I’ve been having some aches and pains, just arthritis, not terrible just the kind that tires you out, you know? anyway, I’m feeling a little blah, but still hoping for better days, lol.

  • Michele Soyer

It’s funny Connie but my neighbor suggested the same thing a trail cam…
I had no plan of going out today…then my daughters friend came by for breakfast and
and said we were all going to the local park for the celebration so off we went! music, food, things for children etc…got back here and there was a BBQ getting ready to start so grabbed what I had made and spent some time there..in about an hour off with my friend for a drive ..tomorrow I AM NOT going anywhere..LOL Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend….

  • l p

the day is going well. weather’s not that great so I’m spending the day indoors. it’s amazing how ‘little’ things turn into ‘big’ things. spent an hour cleaning out and reorganising the ‘junque drawer’. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • heather

Happy Friday to all hope you have a good one. I just got in the door and plan on catching up on some inside housework need to vacuum and dust.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Lots of things to do & absolutely zilch energy do do them. I’m trying to find another plumber – no luck so far.

  • Shelly Peterson

I finally got a confirmation of my surgery date today, which I’m happy about. But now that it’s set in stone, it’s a bit scary to think about. It’s an 8 hour surgery. ๐Ÿ˜’

      • Shelly Peetrson

Oh thank you so much Kate! I will take all the good vibes I can get. My surgery is still a ways away, September 25th.

  • Tamra Phelps

Storms last night and today blew up a mess here. Electric went off about 5, woke me up because my bi-pap went off and I had to get up. It finally came back on this afternoon. Trees down all over town, had to reshedule my doctor’s appt.

  • l p

the day is going well. out early to do some grocery shopping for a neighbour. I’m glad I wasn’t paying for them. at least I got everything on their list. Connie – thanks for your note. I’m looking forward to new puppy pictures. enjoy your day everyone. thanks

  • heather

The sunrise this morning was so beautiful it made my eyes water. Now I am making hummingbird food our feeders sure do empty quickly because of the woodpeckers…

  • KATE SARSFIELD

We had thunder & lightening storms last night so not a lot of sleep. Lots more rain today so I’ve been having a lazy day so far.

  • Michele Soyer

Well an interesting sight here in suburbia a coyote…2 days in a row he came waltzing down from the woods across the lawn and down the rabbit path….no more early morning planting days for me! LOL…he comes about half 6am.. there has also been a bear sighting here in Burnsville…he actually walked up the homeowners driveway up the cobblestones to go around the house then left! weaned cubs and all others searching for food…one must always ask what happened to their food source – 2 weeks ago we saw 3 grown deer walk across our lawn….waiting for my grocery delivery that has been pushed to 5pm oh well just roll with it….

  • Tamra Phelps

We didn’t get the storms yesterday, but it looks like we might get them tomorrow. Of course. I have to go to the doctor, so of course it will rain, lol. Well, it should be a quick trip, local, so maybe it will be done by the time the rain gets here.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Here’s service for you! I rang the store where I bought the lawnmmower & explained my predicament. The assistant asked where I lived and as he passes this way on his way home he popped in & assembled the machine for me! Naturally I gave him some cash for his trouble. There are good people out there!

  • heather

Just got in the door from a grocery store run and am a little ticked off. The last two times I have gone to that store they have over charged me! Today they charged me for something that I didn’t even purchase! I took my receipt back up to the cashier and got my money back $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!! So now… not only are groceries too expensive you have to really ‘eagle eye’ your receipt befor leaving the store.

  • l p

the day is going well. bright sun and warm breezes are welcome. going to take the bones out for a walk later to get a few groceries. Connie – each time I come to this page, I see the picture of Walter with is first pup-cup and it makes me smile. a great way to start the day. enjoy your day, everyone. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Glad I went out yesterday in the drizzle today storms are coming and the sky is pitch black… Plan on sitting out on the patio and make my grocery list for a delivery tomorrow.. My painting is half done but not in the mood to finish it today, so my courses, book and maybe a dance around the living room with the cats judging my every move!

  • l p

the day is going well. spent the morning voluteering. looking forward to babysitting for a friend later. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Well, I tried, I really tried to assemble the new lawnmower but failed. It’s a 2-person job, not one woman with an arthritic hand. Ended up using the little electric one & managed to mow 1/2 the front lawn in 2 hours. Tried again today and failed again so did another hour on the front with the electric one. The battery on the new one makes it quite heavy. I’ll have to make some phone calls.

  • heather

Looks like fire crews have gotten the fire behind our house under control thank goodness. It’s going to be another hot day here.

  • Michele Soyer

Good shopping yesterday – hit 3 large nurseries and bought some lovely flower plants…and an orchid…
Pleasant lunch, the volunteer center for work then back home for a meeting with the landscaper for the property.. Drizzly this morning but heading out for a walk to the close garden center here to get some orchid potting soil then on to the Dollar Tree for a few odds and ends and thats it for shopping! In for the rest of the week….

  • Tamra Phelps

I swear I have a list so lng of things I need to get done around here, but I haven’t done a thing today, lol. Honestly. Nothing. I just never got motivated today.

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day so that makes me happy and busy. the place smells wonderful, as always. looking forward to a quiet evening. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

Well, I did not have a mellow Sunday. We were up all night because some A-hole started a forest fire on the mountain behind our house and we were on evacuation notice all night long. Makes me so mad because it didn’t just start by itself and we have had no weather here so it wasn’t lightning!!!!!!!!!!

  • Michele Soyer

Up at half 5am coffee and out to do some planting of flowers..back in by 7am breakfast more coffee LOL then laundry and a quick vacuum…Sitting here now making a list for shopping today – we are leaving around 1 and I also want to stop by the volunteer center for more scheduling paperwork – they would like me to go to the food bank this afternoon but for a change the answer is I can’t…
Looking forward to hitting all the stores and most probably a late lunch out ..
    Happy Monday all!!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Today’s the day to try to assemble & try out the new mower. Had it on charge all night (battery for the electric starter). More anon …

  • l p

the day is going well. despite the rain and wind, it’s quite warm so I got out for a walk. the place has a fresh smell when it’s raining and the birds just love it. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Tile job finished and he did a wonderful job…well off to mass for 11 and then see what to make for Sunday lunch!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

The sun’s shining, it’s stopped raining and it’s lovely and warm! Had my breakfast outside watching a pair of marsh fritillary butterflies doing courtship dances & mating. They were ‘joined’ for 3.5 minutes – I mean, I’ve had … no, not going there! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Tamra Phelps

It seems like every bug known to man is right here in Ky and trying to get into my house, lol. I mean, why so many bugs this summer???

  • KATE SARSFIELD

It’s cold!!! Mid-June and I’m back into woolly socks and my fingerless gloves! Least it’s stopped raining!

  • heather

Happy Saturday to all. I just got in the door from doing a bunch of running around before it gets too hot. We are heading into a major heat wave here. Got fried chicken and corn on the cob for dinner should be yummy with my homemade potato salad.

  • l p

the day is going well. visted the farmers’ market and now trying to get kids ready for their end of season concert – like herding cats right now. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

There are times Tamra that the way this world is going just makes me scream and rant!! Cover my head and just wish all the insanity away…
Kate please stay out of the nasty weather- all you need is a relapse…
Tile work going on so staying out of the way and cleaning closets…just really vacuuming the carpets and re-arranging things…making a shrimp asian veggie stir fry so easy day…Have a great weekend all!!

  • l p

the day is going well. appointments were on time and all went well. quiet evening planed. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • heather

Happy Friday to all hope you have a good one. I am working at home today we should hit triple digits today here so I already have the fans going.

  • Tamra Phelps

I don’t know about you guys, but I go back and forth between feeling like I can do this, let’s go and feeling like I just want to retreat back to bed and pretend the world does not exist…wonder which today will be, lol.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I have to clear some room in the shed to take the new mower but it’s raining, cold & windy so it’s sitting in the living room till the weather improves. Received an order of Irish organic seeds: yellow foxgloves! Can’t wait to get them going. I’m so easy to please!

  • Michele Soyer

Rainy grey day today so not planning on any outside walking. Should sweep the patios and get ready for the handyman tomorrow who is going to tile both patios but – no- a new book, some music and some art history…

  • heather

Connie, I feel your pain when it comes to pet’s being naughty. We are pet sitting a relatives tiny morkie dog. This morning I took him out and he went #1 and #2 then he came in and ate his breakfast and sneaked in to the living room and went #2 again near his potty pad. I had to count to 100! He gets away with being naughty because he’s sooooooooo cute!

  • l p

the day is going well. got a notice first thing this morning that they’ve had to shut the water off in the area. mad scramble to get some pails and water bottled filled but I made it in time. going out for long lunch with friends. mercifully, I didn’t have any particular things that needed water for doing. the plants can wait another day. hopefully the water will be back on by dinner time (fingers crossed). enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

My neighbor called last evening to see if I would watch her kitty again – said yes of course – kitty noe has meds so ran over to get the schedule and procedure, we got to taking and I wound up staying for a cocktail a lovely chat…today I begin care of kitty…..she is a sweet older girl….

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I don’t know what happened yesterday but my keyboard just wouldn’t work. Today, all’s fine again. I hate technology!
Just back from bringing the 2 cats to the vet. I think I’ve gone deaf in one ear from the roars out of Bryn! Non-stop for the whole journey there & back. He’s curled up under the duvet now exhausted. I also bought a petrol lawnmower that’s a lot bigger & more powerful than the little electric one I have. It’s also got an electric button start rather than one of those pull-cord thingies. My right hand just hurts too much these days. It was โ‚ฌ100 off in the sale AND I got another 10% off for being a pensioner!!! I still find it so funny that I’m that old!

  • Tamra Phelps

What a day. I slept in, seemed like a normal day. Then I got a call from my brother saying our Dad had fallen (but he was okay), so my poor brother had traveled from Louisville to Lexington with a friend who is fighting cancer and needed a ride to the doctor, and then took the friend home, then traveled to our hometown in Southern KY–basically he traveled one end of KY to the other today, lol. But at least everyone is fine!

  • l p

the day is going well. it looked like it was going to rain all day but cleared up around 10:00 AM. looking forward to dinner out with friends. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

Just got in the door from doing running around Post Office, Bank etc. Need to sit for a while and give my poor feet a break now even my “comfortable” shoes seem to hurt my feet.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Hooray! I’m being cautious, but I actually feel a wee bit better! Made an appt. for Loki & Bryn to get their annual check-ups, vax & parasite treatments. I’ll get parasite treatments to bring home for Melynn & Oreo. There’s no way I’d be able to get the 2 of them to the vet. Still not a peep from the plumber despite several emails, texts & voice mails.

  • heather

Just got home from a trip to the local library. It usually takes me about thirty minutes round trip but today it took over an hour. I asked the substitute librarian what time it was and she told me how to build a clock! Have you ever had that happen? When I got back in the car I thought I was missing time??????? lol

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s another beautiful sunny day here. had my virtual appointment and now I’m just about to go out for a long walk and do a few errands along the way before the evening clouds and rain arrive. we need the rain and it’s a gentle rain, I hope. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Foggy day out there perfect for a long walk in the mist…Got out early and walked to the municipal compost dumpster and handled all my food scrap compost…then off to the soup kitchen to bring all the schedules printed out for the doctor and fare free clients…in return received a pile of new August and Sept appoinments to be made. why can’t all this be done thru texts and emails?? anyway then my friend took me for a coffee and a chat….have no idea what the rest of the day will bring…

  • Terri Quick

I got my campfire scented essential oil today for my diffuser. It really does smell like a bonfire in the Forrest.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Didn’t get any sleep at all again. Just tossing & turning all night so got up at 7 & had breakfast outside listening to the birdsong. Back to bed and slept 6 hours but have been yawning all day & napped twice. Ho hum …

  • heather

I was up super early this morning and went outside and it was gently raining and that rain smell was heavenly. Just got in the door from doing some running around and now it’s time for a little break.

  • Michele Soyer

Have to scrap all my outside plans and patio plans it is pouring! raw and the sky is definitely not blue….well get out the vacuum do a quick turn then polish the furniture in the drawing room and thats it..
When we lived in T&T I started watching a Russian mini series Love in Chains…lost the stream but I found it here!! so after lunch going to sit down and watch a few episodes…

  • l p

Hope everyone has a nice mellow Sunday. I am almost done with laundry just have one load left in the dryer. Thinking of making fettuccine alfredo for dinner with a nice salad.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Well, I tidied as best I could & hoped for the best. Met Ed & Judy at the local hotel at 1pm and had a lovely lunch and catch-up. Haven’t seen them since Mum’s funeral in 2020. She’s well into her 90s & he turned 90 this last Feb. You honestly wouldn’t think it, they’re so fit (boringly fit, I can hear Mum say!). She has macular degeneration & is reduced to peripheral vision only so can’t drive but there’s not a pick on her (v. slim) or him for that matter. They loved the house and all the space I have and the huge garden.

  • Michele Soyer

Sitting here just enjoying coffee and the sun shining.. Plan on making a chore list for this week which includes washing down the walls on both patios and once again cleaning the outside windows.. every time the mower man comes it is the same thing but it gets me out and moving! Happy Sunday all….

  • Abby Bue

so far so good. my favorite movie series drops another episode today! can’t waitt!

    BTW, happy new month everyone!

Just finished making hummingbird food and filing up all the feeders we have five of them. I wasn’t even done hanging up the feeders and a damn woodpecker was already out there attached to the bottom of one feeder with its claws sucking it dry! Is there any trick to keep the woodpeckers away? I need to Google that! Have a nice Saturday.

I slept till 3pm, the house is a tip and I’m supposed to be going out for lunch tomorrow. I’ll get my clothes ready, do a little tidy up & vacuum and that’ll have to do. I hope I’m not infectious; the couple I’m meeting are both in their 90s, both very active but still …

the day is going well. was volunteering today. the shift was supposed to be only a couple of hours but I was asked to stay longer to cover for people who were ill. looking forward to a quiet evening with neighbours. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

Happy Friday to all. Just got in the door from doing my BIG grocery shopping. I was shaking my head all the way home thinking I spend how much just for that? $$$$$$$$$$$$

  • KATE SARSFIELD

All I’ve done for nearly 3 days now is sleep, cough, take meds, eat icecream and sleep again. I’ve got visitors coming on Sunday & had a to-do list to tidy the whole house. Nothing done and no energy to do it.

Moving along today at a pretty good pace. Swept both patios, changed all the linens, dusted and polished one bedroom and the living room.. now off to do some re-potting.. not cooking today – sandwiches and then my book!

the day is going well. out early to get some groceries on sale; lunch with a friend; deep-cleaning the kitchen is taking longer than anticipated but will be worth it in the long run. enjoy your day. thanks

Oh, yes, Connie, I saw the squirrel, lol!! Is that Sneaky Squirrel? I wonder what he will make of Walter! He could be Walter’s nemesis!

Just got in the door from making a quick trip to the rural local market where everything costs ten times what it does in town. Sure is heating up out there 82 degrees today. I am staying inside and doing some work.

the day is going well. busy morning with ‘stuff’. somehow the stuff just eats up all my time. looking forward to dinner with friends. thanks

Just got in the door from a quick run to town and boy gotta say… it wasn’t that pleasant out there today. The clerk at the grocery store had a serious attitude problem and then on the way home some nut job passed the car behind me and me on a blind corner with a car coming and I was doing the speed limit. Just happy to have made it home in one piece!

Now I’ve got a sore throat – what next? Was awake all night again, popped out for over the counter stuff for my throat, then slept for 6 hours. I’ve no appetite at all, it’s pouring down outside and I’ve had to turn the water off. Heather kindly sent me a YouTube link that might fix the toilet but it’ll have to wait till tomorrow. Just no energy today.

I’m so tired of going to doctors who don’t really listen to their patients. I think I might have to start playing Miss Naughty instead of Miss Nice with them lol!

Just got home from a trip to the local library. I donated some books and picked up some new ones to read. The form is not resetting for me today a few options did but not the usual daily ones.

HELP!!! My toilet has started to flush itself, refill & flush again and again … left another message with the plumber … other than that, all I’ve done today is sleep.

    • heather

Hi Kate, not sure how the toilets are set up in Ireland but I thought this Youtube video may help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHaT-W-aEKI
I recently fixed a plumbing issue here and we called and cancelled the plumber from coming out and charging us $200.00 $$$$$$$$$$$$ just for the travel time! Hope the video help you sometimes those videos on YT come in handy and I always learn something new. God Bless.

      • KATE SARSFIELD

Gosh, thanks Heather! I’ve renovated my house via YT! Will give this a go when I’m feeling a bit better.

June??? How did we get here so fast??? I hope Alice had a great birthday, Connie. I spent three hours waiting for my return ride at the doctor’s office, so I was not a happy camper, lol.

  • heather

Happy June to everyone hope it’s a good one. Happy birthday to Alice! I so love seeing pictures of Walter makes me smile every time.

the day is going well. welcome June. it’s bread-baking day so I’m busy but loving it. enjoy your day and month. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Happy June everyone! Yesterday it dawned on me that I must own hundreds (well, lots) of plantpots and as they’re recyclable I’ve started to wash every single one of them. Done 120 so far! Today, I’m sweeping the path round the house, feeding the strawberries and tidying one room.
